Re: Mike Tucker Tuesday
Mike Tucker is a fictional character from the British BBC Radio 4 soap opera The Archers. Described upon his introduction in 1973 as "the Milkman from Hell", Mike has developed over five decades to become a family man whose grumpy demeanour and gruff attitude won favour with listeners. Radio and television actor Terry Molloy was cast in 1973 by producer Tony Shryane and stayed for four years until leaving the show in 1977, only to return in 1983. He remained on the show for 40 years, making Molloy one of the longest-serving soap opera actors in the world.
Mike is the husband of Vicky Tucker, and the father of Roy, Brenda and Bethany Tucker. He is also a close friend to Neil Carter and Ed Grundy. Since 1973, Mike has suffered bankruptcy, depression, attempted suicide, the loss of an eye, the loss of his first wife and being knocked down by a car.
Molloy says his character is a "relentlessly honest son of the soil" who "tolerates fools with no gladness whatsoever".

Good morning everyone and happy Tuesday!
Just.a.quick.CI.as today is going to be busy.. Our 9 trim vicar has been appointed permanent vicar, a.d.will be licensed in a big service this evening, and the priest who has been helping us out for the last couple of years,.is going to be licensed as associate priest.I have a very small.part to play in the service, so need to be there early, and,.as the details.were.still being finalised on Sunday, I'm probably going to be asked to go over during the day to help out. DH will be singing in the choir, so I'm going to need to make sure he is suitably stored for such an important formal.occasion. We're going to have our main meal.at lunchtime today, as I think there are refreshments.after the service..

Re: Mike Tucker Tuesday
Lunchtime here - DH cooked a very tasty spaghetti carbonara. (He cooks when we have the odd "lunch as main meal", as I suggested he would know when he had got to a "good stopping place" with work.
)
Hall and stairs are done,.and I've started on the sitting room.

Re: Mike Tucker Tuesday
I guess you're probably getting ready to go to the service at your church now, Kitty. I hope all goes well!
I had a semi-lazy start this morning until dh got impatient to get out the door early. . . We were otd at 9:30 for a walking tour that ended up taking about 3.5 hours. It was a lot of walking - and it got warm! But we got to see other parts of Avignon that we hadn't seen yet. Interesting! We did go on the bridge - but I forgot to dance! I danced a little at the entry way to the bridge. There was a family on the bridge dancing in a circle and singing the song in French! Very fun!
Home again, we ate a simple lunch with some bread, cheese, and jam we'd bought at the market. Then, we cleaned up and I ran the dw. Dh had a meeting at 3 which he wanted me to join (but hadn't told me that he wanted me to join before) with M and J, S's parents (dsil + dbil) re: which classes S should sign up for. I had to leave that meeting early for the academic check in meeting with AC 3:30 - 4:30. Then, I was hungry and had a bit more of a snack. I think the losing weight portion of the trip is now past. LOL! I now have some payroll admin tasks I need to complete by the end of this week.
We'll leave again in about 1:15 for our dinner reservation at 7 pm. I will try to go to bed early tonight so I can get up early tomorrow morning. We have a 7:15 am taxi to the TGV to travel to Barcelona tomorrow. We'll be on trains for almost 5 hours.
Before I head out for dinner, I'd like to do my back exercises and some QT. I'm so sleepy though and keep nodding off.
Next:
- QT

Later:
- make the bed
- gather garbage to throw out
- 7pm dinner reservations

- home again; lunch

- 3-3:30ish impromptu meeting with dh, dbil, dsil, and dniece S
