I feel rested! mom slept and slept. dd older knew I was tired and got mom up and changed her, gave her something to drink and her meds. I am very grateful! I feel bad that dd did that but she must have known I was exhausted. (I want her to have her own home but she said that she won't leave bc of d mom. I have to figure out how to make it so that she doesn't worry about us!

Dh is very happy with my news from my doctor!!

CI fire is still going 0% contained good news is that is it going the other direction.
Bad news is the haze and smoke is back and we just went around the block for
our walk today. I'll need to vacuum for steps it seems.

Did my morning stuff for when I first wake up.
Had bfast.

I have done a kit. spiff.
Did up the dishes.
Made a granny square.

Had lunch it was good but I did not get it as warm as I like.
Wind or breeze rather if funneling smoke in to our valley and AQI is going up and cannot see
the hills or mtns. around us dang! Sinuses are complaining as am I! Drat!

No church b/c of church camp this weekend =( seems out of balance next week will be all about
what happened with youth camp. I do not have a good vibe on this b/c of all the fires in the PNW.

I overslept and was still straightening things up when dcleaning lady got here. I think I turned the alarm off instead of snoozing because it was set for seven and I know it went off at least once.

She's doing her magic. I'm upstairs, out of her way. I have my workout at two, and dh will be out for awhile tonight - the draft of the Thursday bowling league.

We were thinking of going out last night and asked A and V if they could come, but they were planning to eat leftovers - so we ended up eating leftovers with them. Was a good time sitting by the river. We were able to stay later than usual since we didn't get there until 5:30ish. Very pleasant evening - several towboats with their barges going by, not much river traffic otherwise.

I have a dr. appointment for my meds at 1:00 I wish that she still had video calls. I go once a year.
mom is much better today -
I made my phone calls - I had to switch my Wednesday jobs to today.
made an appointment for the dentist
made an appointment for the furnace fall check
tried to make an appointment for they biopsy at the hospital
put make an appointment for eye dr. to be called next Wednesday.

I have to write a letter today to a cousin and her mom.
I would like to go over my charge card bill.
I would like to set up my printer upstairs instead of the basement.

Lost a long post earlier this morning, started at the urgent care, where I was thoroughly annoyed with and worried for DH. He cut his finger pretty well with the hedge trimmer yesterday and wouldn't go then, choosing to instead go to the Scout meeting, by the end of which the urgent care was closed. I made him go this morning. He had cut through the fingernail, so they couldn't do stitches, but they patched him up and prescribed antibiotics, which eased my mind.

After the urgent care, I had DH drop me off at the hairdresser's on his way to work. I got there a few minutes early for the appointment, so I was already in the chair when the kids arrived -- I had told DC to drive them there, and I would meet them. Couldn't have done it without DC getting their license the other week. So I am freshly blued, and DD is freshly purpled, and DC is freshly tealed. (None of us has a full head dyed; I've got my ends, they've each got streaks.)

I have not done much since coming home and having lunch. I need to figure out what dinner is going to be -- I may have to go out and get something. I still haven't finished the grocery list.

Glad you're out of harm's way, Nancy, and I hope it stays that way.

Ah, you overslept, Twins, and I was up early. I wondered what conspired in the universe that I should start today's thread. I hope you have a pleasant, peaceful evening while your DH is at bowling.

I am SO glad to see you all. Adventurous day. And not in a good way.

When we got back from the blood draw, we were locked out of the house because something happened to the lock/doorknob that has been the main one used now for around 7 years, we think, never giving trouble. There ensued a comedy of errors, as you can imagine. Ddil put their "Mom's Key" keychain contents of three keys into her mailbox for us at a run while dashing outdoors with her phone at her ear, still on the phone with a patient, lol. We so happily picked it up, but wouldn't you know, it turned out the only house key was still for that favorite entrance, the back door. Sigh. And since the problem was the doorknob itself, that didn't help. In fact, it turned out that no child or neighbor had a key to the other doors and neither did we on our persons. (We knew exactly where they were in the house, but how did that help. sigh.)

We have very secure windows, btw. Never mind about that brief adventure.

Thankfully, ds found a way to switch out work responsibilities and headed toward us with the right equipment from work to quickly drill out a lock if he had to. He stopped by a home improvement store to pick up a new doorknob, etc., assuming that might be the problem.

We went over to ddolder's and sat with their family members as different ones rotated in their chances to leave classes or work to come chat with us at the dining table. We couldn't go into the living area or watch tv, because it would place us into the frame of the camera of her youngest's classroom. No matter - can't tell you how good some air conditioning and a bathroom were at this point, lol. We snacked, but neither of us had had meds, so getting a little worrisome on that count.

Ds got the job done - yes, the best choice was drilling and an all-new doorknob/lock. Door itself was not bothered (thank goodness - 68-year-old specialized door situation could have been serious $$ ). He called us to tell us we were free and went back out to get 5 (count 'em, 5) keys made He brought bright neon yellow labels for each and made them out while sitting with us, to go to various homes and - I don't know, maybe in a flowerpot, lol. I think I'll get extras made of the other key, too and distribute.

I donwanna do that again.

Does anyone need this little reminder? If you have more than one lock that might be opened to get you into your house in a pinch, make a copy of its key and do something separate and intelligent with it. It's not always going to be the problem you expect.
