"Ruby Tuesday" is a song by the English rock band the Rolling Stones, released in January 1967. The song became the band's fourth number-one hit in the United States and reached number three in the United Kingdom as a double A-side with "Let's Spend the Night Together". The song was included in the American version of Between the Buttons (in the UK, singles were often excluded from studio albums).

The Rolling Stones recorded "Ruby Tuesday" around November 1966 at Olympic Studios, during the sessions for their album Between the Buttons. The song was produced by Andrew Loog Oldham.Brian Jones plays a countermelody on an alto recorder, while the double bass was played jointly by bassist Bill Wyman and guitarist Keith Richards; Wyman did the fingerings while Richards bowed the instrument.

Richards explained that the lyrics are about Linda Keith, his girlfriend in the mid-1960s:

"Who could hang a name on you
When you change with every new day?
Still, I'm gonna miss you."

"That's a wonderful song," Mick Jagger told Jann Wenner in 1995. "It's just a nice melody, really. And a lovely lyric. Neither of which I wrote, but I always enjoy singing it." Wyman states in Rolling with the Stones that the lyrics were completely written by Richards with help from Jones on the musical composition. However, Marianne Faithfull recalled it differently; according to her, Jones presented an early version of this melody to the rest of the Rolling Stones. According to Victor Bockris, Richards came up with the basic track and the words and finished the song with Jones in the studio.

Cash Box described the single as a "smooth ballad á là baroque".

Yesterday was productive, and today I need to be OTD early to take Fred for his Solensia injection. After his frankly appalling behaviour last time,.I am.not looking.forwa4d.to.it..(The receptionist described him as having "big feelings". I suppose that's one way of putting it!). At least we should be seeing "his" vet today, which should hopefully.make.a.difference.

How very interesting, Gma - sleep well! Is there any news on your DSon's youmger dog?

We're back from the vet. For once,. Freddie was reasonably well behaved,.just hissing.at everyone.(My bar for "good" behaviour is very low! ) , and I think he was as relieved to see "his" vet as I was.

DH has gone for a walk. I've finally had my breakfast. I'm going to have a little time in my.garden before I start the housework.

Kitty, I like that song! I haven't heard it for along time. I'm glad Freddie's vet was back and his behavior was good - for him!
Gma, I think I remember seeing that restaurant chain too. Maybe it was a midwest thing?

Has trissie posted recently? Maybe she's busy with work and life. She has a lot going on. Thinking of you trissie, if you pop in here.

I majorly fizzled after my payroll meeting yesterday. Jetlag hit me. I did not go to the grocery store or go for a jog. I need to do those 2 things today. It did feel good to do all the laundry and unpack everything. I still have some toiletries to put away.

I'm up and at 'em later today than yesterday. I woke up an hour later and lay in bed for a while finishing a puzzle. I'm working on my coffee and have written and posted my notes from the payroll meeting yesterday and ordered face cream and coffee.

Today: I'm meeting K, S2, and J at a new-to-us coffee shop at 9 a.m. After that, I hope to go for my jog. Then, I'll go home, shower, have some lunch - and have a phone call with our school's director at 1 pm. Next - I'll go to the grocery store. By that point, jetlag will probably be hitting hard again. Other things to do: finish putting away toiletries, contact new hair salon re: appointment (was supposed to do this before we left - we'll see if I can get a timely appointment), contact carpet cleaner (dh found more dog spots in the spare bedroom where S will sleep), contact window washer, text messages, read, make dinner - tacos OR chicken lettuce wraps? After dinner tonight, we need to do garbage and recycling.
