The dragon boat races are a fundraiser for DD33’s one group for adults with disabilities. On Friday they have opening ceremonies. There will be short speeches and then the flash mob dance with people with disabilities and some caregivers. I will be in the audience and we’ll see what Little BIt decides to do. Then at the end the dragon heads that are attached to the front of the boats are “woken” up by painting in their eyes.

Re: Thursday 's Child Thursday
Aw, thanks, helia. I'm glad that you feel better. You have gotten a lot done today.
You too, L.Ann. That little free library is looking well stocked!
The cardamon bread sounds delicious, Gma.
The Vikings traded slaves as far east as modern Russia, and middle eastern merchants traded with the Slavs, so I guess that the cardamon came up the silk road and was passed on from there.
I've been shopping and brought all but the tissues up. I'm fighting to keep my eyes open, so I think that I'll leave that for tomorrow.
Thursday
Gave Germane her heart pill
Looked up my tickets that need refunding
Called the box office
Sat on hold while I CUOP
Reached an agent. She told me that my card would be refunded automatically.
Explained that I had received emails for two of the three tickets saying that the performance has been moved to a theatre out of town and that if I want a refund I have to request it before August 31. The email gave an email address but no particulars on how to get the refund.
Got put on hold while the agent looked into it.
Agent came back ready to refund me for the two tickets that I received emails for. Ended the call so that she could call me back on a secure line.
While waiting for the callback, started looking up credit card account.
Received the callback and got two of the three tickets refunded.
Made breakfast
Put on a pot of coffee
FACE: Paid bills
Changed Germane's pee pads
Made a tub of onion yogurt
Fresh food and water for Germane
Went to Canadian Tire and bought the good cheap floor mats
Bought a fern
Went to pet food store and bought kibble for Germane
Brought up the first load of shopping
Germane peed on the floor to celebrate
Washed floor

Re: Thursday 's Child Thursday
Since kittykatt mentioned the nursery rhyme poem that includes Thursday's child, I thought I'd share the full week. And when reviewing it, I discovered that there are several versions!
This is the one I know, and I have an embroidery kit for each one. I was going to make a quilt for a grandbaby, but never even go it started. He's now 20, and there are no other grandkids.
Monday's child is fair of face,
Tuesday's child is full of grace.
Wednesday's child is full of woe,
Thursday's child has far to go.
Friday's child is loving and giving,
Saturday's child works hard for a living.
But the child that is born on Sabbath day,
Is bonny and blithe, good and gay.
Similarly, another version:
Born on Monday, fair in the face,
Born on Tuesday, full of God's grace,
Born on Wednesday, sour and sad,
Born on Thursday, merry and glad,
Born on Friday, worthily given,
Born on Saturday, work hard for your living,
Born on Sunday, you will never know want
Yet another prediction begins the list on a Sunday, rather than ending on that day:
Sunday's child is full of grace,
Monday's child is full in the face,
Tuesday's child is solemn and sad,
Wednesday's child is merry and glad,
Thursday's child is inclined to thieving,
Friday's child is free in giving,
And Saturday's child works hard for his living
(I was born on Saturday, and note that on all of them, I will work hard for a living! )
