Re: Hill Mynah Bird Monday
Hill mynahs come from South and South East Asia, including Myanmar, China, Malaysia and Indonesia, among others. They live in lowland forests, hills and mountains. They are omnivores and eat a diet of fruit, nectar, insects and lizards.
Hill mynahs have jet black feathers, which shimmer green and black in the light. They have bright yellow-orange patches of skin, along with fleshy wattles, on their head. They also have bright yellow beaks and legs.
These birds are monogamous, and build nests in holes in trees, which are lined with twigs, leaves and feathers.
The word ‘mynah’ (or ‘myna’ as it is sometimes spelt) comes from the Sanskrit word ‘madana’, which means joy and delight.
Hill mynahs are renowned for their ability to imitate speech, which makes them popular pets, especially in Asia.

Re: Hill Mynah Bird Monday
Good morning everyone and happy Monday!
L.Ann, how lovely that Little Bit and DD have such a close relationship. I'm sore with a bit of planning you'll be able to sort something out so they still.get to see each other.
Dogged, Pinky and the Brain certainly seem to have World Domination in mind!
One bite at a time is definitely the way to go, Gma, and you've made great progress with tour DNiece's help. WTG finding that cheque!
So, Monday again. DH goes to the office and I'm at home. I think this is my last appointment free week for some time,.so I need to make the most.of it. I.can also feel a definite nip in the air this morning.- autumn is on its way!

Re: Hill Mynah Bird Monday
A week without appointments must feel like a welcome change, Kittykatt. Thank you for starting us off.
Monday
Came out of the bathroom and walked through pee
I had put down an extra two pee pads because Germane has been peeing off the edge or just next to them. So she went in front of the bathroom and peed there
I can’t see it until I am at the right angle that the light shines off of it, so tracked it through the apartment
Put paper towels on the lake
Washed the floor
Spotted poop under the furniture while I was bending
Cleaned up the poop and washed the floor there
Made new Procrastaccomplishments sheet for the week
I'm going to top up Germane's kibble and then I hope that I am ready for bed, unless she has any more tasks planned for me.
Today's big goal is to take Germane to the groomer. That'll teach her. Bwa-ha-ha!

Re: Hill Mynah Bird Monday
Happy Monday!
Not caught up on posts, but if I tried to, I would spend all my computer time catching up and not posting my list, so... I will get back to it in my next break!
kittykatt, enjoy your appointment free week! How's your garden doing these days? Bet it loves the relief from the hot days!
oh my, Dogged, a before bed pee and poo clean-up is NOT the way you want to get ready for a restfull night!
Back from my trip to Berlin. It was lovely, but I guess that now knowing till last minute whether I would be going or not - and Berlin being a back-up plan anyways as due to it being accesible by train it meant I could defer the decision till last moment, but my original plan for this year was London or Rome - I wasn't overly excited. I mean, I absolutely adored the "Cassirer and the Breakthrough of Impressionism" exhibition in Berlin Alte Gallerie - it features over 120 impressionist and modernist artworks and it would be well worth visit to the city by itself. I also very much enjoyed the Sanssouci castle and its gardens, and had a lovely trip (including a hike, helia!
) to Wannsee, satisfying my history itch (I recently read a book that features the Wannsee conference). My hotel was in a lovely location, right in the center of Berlin, and I was lucky even in that my usual "visit a mess in the catholic cathedral" had the Berlin archbishop celebrating it and my favourite scripture reading (the two main commandments from New Testament) the center of it. But Berlin is just not my kind of city, I guess!
I think, however, that DS and maybe the twins would enjoy the DDR (East Germany) exhibition, so I may plan the visit there with the whole family. It's 4 hours on train, so really no big deal! Maybe next summer, when the Pergamon museum will reopen!
Anyways, it's back to normal now. Whatever normal means in this house!

Re: Hill Mynah Bird Monday
It's getting harder to feel that this is not targeted. I stood up and found a lake of pee right across where I have to walk to leave the desk area. Luckily for me, the light is at the right angle for me to see it.
Welcome home, trissie. I'm glad that you found lovely things to see in Berlin, even if it was not your first choice.

Re: Hill Mynah Bird Monday
Welcome back, Trissie! I'm glad you enjoyed your holiday, even if Berlin wasn't your first choice of destination. The gardens definitely happier now we've had some rain and it's cooler. Some things are looking as though they didn't make it through the drought, so I've just cut them.down (so I dont have to look at dead stuff!) and I'll wait and see.
Oh, no, Dogged! That is so not funny. Can Germane go on her crate/ pen for a while to enable you to regain your sanity?
September and October are going to be quite appointment heavy, both for me and the cats, so I'm going to enjoy this week of "freedom".
