I have taken the laundry out of the dryer. I just need to put it all away.
Dh has asked for soup and a sandwich for supper. There are tomatoes that are ready to eat, so I know what kind of sandwich I will be enjoying later today!

Back to work... that's Monday. I need to do a few routines before. And have dh tell me when he gets there if our freight truck is there. Monday can be a bit flexible. I'll do late shift if the truck is later and I know I'm spoiled with my schedule. Almost everyday I get to choose my time. Always early if I have my way.
Ugh. I have to fix my attitude again. My surroundings are making me down again. Everything is almost finished cause that is me. I don't know how to finish anything. And I need to make myself get started on physio exercises. I can't seem to get down to work on them. All my supplies are sitting right beside me. I can get myself down so quickly.

Re: Make your Monday Marvelous!! August 24, 2026
Thank you for a cheerful start to Monday, Cathy! I slept in, was up at seven and went back to sleep for awhile. And it's a beautiful day here!
I only have my workout today at two, and dh is out this a.m. for a dr appointment so the house is quiet. I did not get my act together, clear my mind, or do any such thing yesterday. I played. Did just a little stamping, a little "play" genealogy by tracking down some inhabitants of our cemetery and connecting them up. Funny how there can be an isolated couple in the cemetery - names one doesn't recognize - yet find out they are connected to known members and families.
While the house is quiet I need to think through the week a bit...I'm going to have some extra time, dh is out on Wednesday to go to baseball game in ATL.
Oh, Lauralind, I know that attitude! pull yourself out and get busy! That's the best antidote, you can do this!
Gmorning, Nancy!

Re: Make your Monday Marvelous!! August 24, 2026
Good morning
I'm in hour #3 of my day and all is going smoothly.
DD15 temperature had disappeared this morning (was 100 yesterday) so she went to school. On the drive there she was negotiating with me how high her temp needed to be to not be in school. Now I am wondering if she took a thermometer with her? Hum..
DS18 told me that he was cleaning his bedroom after work. He said "I have let it get out of hand".
THAT IS A FACT.
DH is pulling weeds by hand along the pasture fenceline. The clay ground is so dry and hard that is resembled concrete so pulling anything out of the ground is a challenge. I gave him some clippers to use but he didn't want to use them. He seems to enjoy doing it the difficult way. it is pleasant outside for another few hours before the temps climb into the 100's.
DD50 has been texting me about her concerns with DD15. I'm in protective mode of DD15 because DD50 can go into what she calls "war mode". At least she recognizes it isn't normal but is I don't think she sees it as part of impulsive behavior on the spectrum of manic.
DS18 has appt with family doctor this morning. I'll go with him in case he needs any help switching from minor child to legal adult age. Last appt the office lady said he would have to fill out paperwork once he was 18.

howdy howdy - (I always think of my dear father in law - he always came in a room saying that - and my nephew as a toddler would say Doe Day doe Day to grandpa in return). it makes me smile.
Called the city and waiting for a return call to clear our permit.
mom is still coughing. but happy
poor helper is struggling so - her mom passed in may and the grief is overwhelming her-a depression that is very deep. She is looking into a grief counselor.

Re: Make your Monday Marvelous!! August 24, 2026
thank you for the start cathy!!! good morning
soup and sandwich sounds wonderful
hi d Laura sending you a wonderful day!
hi d Nancy
I love how you walk first thing - I used to and should do that again
happy get things out of the house day: trash, pitch and doss, vacuuming the dust out!
waving back too
hi d twins - enjoy the quiet house this morning ! how lovely that everyone has a beautiful day outside
enjoy your workout
playing is perfect - so glad you took that day for you.
hello d lady - yay on your dd's temperature going away - hope she feels good all day!
how wonderful that your ds sees that it has gotten out of hand and wants to do something about it! praying the weather eases up by you very soon. praying for your dd 50 and dd 15
my dear cousin doesn't see when she is manic with her interactions with her children or family. she gets over concerned, or something in her brain that she feels she must do, and it becomes impulsive and overwhelming her family. She can't help it and can't see it. it's so intense for her and it comes out. We all love her but when she is intense and overwhelming it is hard for her kids and grandkids. She herself gets hurt bc she doesn't understand that everyone is getting overwhelmed.

Re: Make your Monday Marvelous!! August 24, 2026
okay - late on pulling cards - time to get started - I am beginning to feel guilty about the dogs and not exercising them after d dog cut her pad. I have to get back outside.
hoping my word for today is BALANCE
mom woke at 11 am - d helper is giving her a shower and getting her dressed
I made breakfast for her and pulled her meds
card pulled for her:
have her wash her table area
after breakfast I will wash her dishes and she can dry them
have her help me make her bed
doesn't want to yet but she is taking a nap now 2:18 maybe after
have her put her laundry in the washer (w Sara steady) I will have her fold them.
hopefully later
brush her teeth in Sara steady
arm exercises
leg lifts
head and neck stretching
walk with walker three times One time. - weaker today.
I have a craft if she wants
(for me: it's a little overwhelming keeping her busy with real purpose while doing other things)
I have to take mom for a walk in her wheelchair outdoors.
11:20 listening to a book while doing room by room - simple put away
I need to go upstairs to do a room by room
I have the don't wanna feeling.

I started a new card based on a video I watched: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0mCr5tqtiMg&t=94s
is it clutter in motion (doing it in the moment stuff) or clutter in stasis (inaction - impasse) the type of clutter that has the tendency of objects that we become blind to. no state of motion. (things in these areas build more and more clutter)
it is helping me with clarity of what is becoming clutter -

Annnnnnddddd just like THAT <<<insert sound of snapping fingers<<<< we are done with taking DS18 and staying with him at doctor appointments. The family doctor staff was smiling and making a to-do about this being his first adult appointment. Papers were filled out and then DH and I walked out the front door as they called DS18 back to exam room.
I am both happy to see DS18 reach the age of doing adult things, but also somewhat tearful as another part of raising him comes to an end.
On the way home, I drove to the local park and walked half of the trail. I would have walked more but DH was dragging his feet (literally couldn't lift them up without dragging). which made me concerned that he might trip and fall. The temperature swing was very noticeable between walking in the shade underneath trees and then back into the bright sunshine. Walking in the shade was pleasant. Walking on hot pavement in bright sunshine was verging on brutal. Regardless of the temperature, I enjoyed being out in fresh air and observing nature.
