blessed, I'm so sorry to hear that news from your helper. How tragic. You are a kind one to give her grace that way.
It was a tense blood draw. Complicated. Inexperienced nurse I think. Felt sorry for myself so said yes when HRH asked if I wanted to go out to eat I will get over this pouting.

(((Harriet))))
i stayed on the phone for 21 minutes being passed from one person to another in the big city hospital. No one knows how to contact the EMU. The last person I talked with sent an email to the neurologist that is referring DH to the EMU so maybe he will know how to contact them. #hopeful
Time just flies by—how does the morning disappear so fast?

Oh, blessed! Your helper's news is just shocking. Prayers for her and her family. Your kindness to her does you credit.
Glad LadyM's insurance situation is getting untangled -- good thing you griped!
I hope the EMU situation gets straightened out ASAP.
Conga music -- now that's a good idea, Nancy! Although I am always a bit self-conscious about putting some on; I am the only member of the household without earphones. Every time I get earphones, it seems I end up passing them on to someone whose headphones have broken -- because, after all, I never use mine.
I am glad you finally got your blood drawn, Harriet. What does HRH think of the potential swashbuckling look?
I hope I didn't miss anybody.
DD's play is tonight and tomorrow afternoon. They left the house a couple of hours ago already -- they're doing two run-throughs before the performance, and before that, they wanted to take one of their fellow cast members in search of appropriate shoes for her role.
Heard on FB that the kid sister of my oldest friend has died unexpectedly. She can't have been more than 55; I remember as a child resenting her because we had to be quiet to not wake the baby. She has two sons, one of whom is developmentally disabled. I don't think he is capable of living on his own, and I worry what will happen to him.
I should make lunch -- I couldn't when I originally wanted to, because DD was using the toaster oven. I got some of the pots and pans done when I did the breakfast dishes, but I have two more remaining -- the crockpot and a six-quart pot, so both unwieldy. I think one of them can fit in the dish drainer if I don't have anything else in there. Bleah. Maybe we can have pizza for dinner tonight. Whatever we have, we will have to have it early enough to get to DC's play in time. It's a 7:30 curtain, but doors open at 7, and it's a 20-minute drive.
I hope you all have a good afternoon -- and I hope somebody turns up some good news! We could use some.

Another hour spent on the phone trying to find contact to EMU clinic without success. Sheeezze. I've even got AI involved looking for the right phone number. No success so far.
I'm taking a break from this effort since it is possibility they are at lunch. I'll try later.

LadyM, sleeping on my side with a pillow under the top knee helps me and I can still sleep on my side. But then I lose it during the night.
Somehow I didn't see LM's earlier post this a.m. and started with a Dolly tribute. I'll do that another day!
Quiet day here, I've not had my brunch yet, didn't get up until 9 a.m. I've been down a rabbit hole on the famlies buried in our cemetery. It's amazing how connected the community was. I just noticed that I have 47 suggested edits on Find a Grave active right now. I think I'll try to hold off more for a bit, lol.

Re: Friday PWYC - Let's do this!
My head is spinning with the frustration of learning the medical dance steps.
I've made more phone calls without making progress.
Step one - Our family doctor referred us to big city hospital neurologist clinic that resulted in us seeing a doctor (neurosurgeon) last week. He sent us to EMU for testing (hospital stay)
A week later I haven't heard anything, so I started making phone calls to check status of EMU.
MANY phone calls later I am told that a neurosurgeon can't refer a patient to EMU. That can only be done by a neurologist or epileptologist.
So we are back to step one.
Actually, we are at step zero. Before the neurosurgeon can refer us to neurologist or epileptologist, it has to be approved by insurance. We have never had a delay from waiting on insurance authorization.
There are SO MANY PEOPLE that work at this HUGE hospital. They are all nice and seem willing to help, but they are only aware of their individual responsibilities and are eager to give us another phone number to call. It seems impossible to find someone that knows how to get things done.

Re: Friday PWYC - Let's do this!
I have the last load of duds in the dryer.
Two loads have been folded and brought upstairs and are put away.
Had lunch.
Harriet that is why I do not get blood draws as often as they want the last one was the worst I've had in a long
while with a plum sized bruise purple area for a week. =( going to have to make my self do that next mo.
I did give myself permission to wait till fall and it was cooler out.
Not as hot again today snow is expected in Mt. in the mtns.
I now have classical music on for my lunch break.
I did some knitting to the last of this project a grapefruit sized ball left so I'll be doing bit more knitting the fun rows
then start the seed stitch border. This weekend at some point I suspect.
I have done some knitting am to the last few rows of border stitching now.

Re: Friday PWYC - Let's do this!
I stopped to get DD15 from school and then continued on with phone calls.
It has been hours of talking on the phone with zero progress.
The neurosurgeon office told me that we were waiting on prior approval from insurance. I talked to insurance and there has been no prior authorization request submitted to them.
It is now late in the workday at the end of the work week, so my chances of making progress have dropped even further.
I'll start again on Monday.

Re: Friday PWYC - Let's do this!
I've continued my research on people in the cemetery today. Not as intense. Took some time to stamp too. I unpacked a new die cut machine. Mine is the Sizzix, and probably 20 years old. It's difficult to use and I have to experiment with cardboard shims to get layers to fit well, and I'm afraid the crank thing may be getting to a point that the screw is stripped.
Our dinner is lamb chops, baked sweet potato and green beans. I need to go back upstairs for a minute and close out what was open on that computer.
I just finished walking a lap around the circle with dfriend M and her new dog, who has been renamed "Dolly" this week. We kept on opposite sides of the street. Millie was the problem child but she could have been much worse, so we consider it a success, lol.

((LadyM)), it is true that large medical facilities have many helpful people, but an overview of a whole picture? That's hard to track down. I wish I could say I'm shocked you are having to spend so much personal time, but I'm not. Weekends are a reset, though - something of a relief to realize it's totally the calendar's fault that you are waiting! See if you can find out the exact first time you can call the (potentially) most helpful number Monday morning and try to beat the rush!
Nancy, it wasn't as much the bruise kind of thing this time, it was the indecision and general hesitation, not being able to get the right orders for a half an hour after I'd been taken to the recliner - not very reassuring. But I will admit to you, I didn't have much confidence in the draw moments themselves, either. Sometimes you just breeze through with a pro who's so confident, but not this time. Nurse said he eventually talked directly to the dr by phone, and that just seemed odd - why have to?
Twins', new equipment for stamping - inspiration! Hope it works great.
Mystery, he has mentioned Pirates of the C movie series and it took me a while to get his point, lol. I don't know that he will actually wear one. He's had one before for this same eye back when it was healing. So sorry to hear about a childhood friend's sibling's death - my goodness, yes that is young.
Lunch was good and kind of calming. Back home again, I napped, which is a perfectly good thing. These two days have been a lot of walking on concrete, one way or another. Also, some "I am not-an-extrovert" reaction, lol.
Good news requested? um... .. Happy to have been able to instantly put my hands on some paperwork HRH was asking about this afternoon. He was relieved.
