I've now made a stab at solving the problem of the fall wardrobe

i received an order of shirts for me today that I placed online after seeing a shirt on a utube person. They had a link to it in their show notes which is what lead me to it online. I am pleased with them. Super simple. Super easy on the pocketbook. I don't give much thought to clothes and tend to wear the same clothes year after year. However, I'm growing weary of wearing clothes too big for me and how sloppy they look. I keep thinking that I should modify them to make them smaller, but really.....they are years old and should be replaced.

I have been trying to update my clothes as well LM.

I did reclaim the table and put the pages I sorted from the old planner together with the old planned in my office area work space.
Got the ones to keep in the new planner yea for success.

Knitted a few more rows.
Prepped food for dinner.
The wind that was predicted is here too.

Almost finished with DH PM routine. Once he is in bed then I get to relax and zone out a while before I go to bed.

It has turned out to be a better day than I expected. Staying busy feeds the dopamine good feelings. I make better decisions and those decisions seem to build upon themselves until taking excellent care of myself becomes less of a struggle.

Thank you, LadyM! I got a lot of FB birthday wishes, but family is not celebrating until Tuesday -- just too much going on until then. Ballgame last night. DS is out of town today and tomorrow. DDIL left yesterday for class reunion in her hometown -- her dad went with her -- and they will be back tomorrow evening. Ballgame Monday night... so Tuesday it is.
I did go out with dfriend for lunch yesterday, so that was nice.

BTW, LadyM -- what was the planner that you tried and decided it didn't fit your life? The Passionate Penny Pincher Planner is sooo pretty and has EVERYTHING in it... but not on my schedule. I bought it one year and decided I just had to do my own thing. I'm working with a sort of hybrid of my cards and my Prayerful Planner. It's all open space, but I like the layout. I use the cards as reminders and write the important things in the planner.

I am also thinking of Harmony, as it is her birthday also. I hope Sunny will check in and let us know how she is doing.

It has been sooo hectic around here.
Friday, I got dmom's Corvette, hoping to offer it to my cousin who is a homecoming attendant. (I can't remember if I already discussed this or not, so just forgive me.) I told her mom and her aunt that I wanted to surprise her with it, and I was planning on driving it for a couple weeks to make sure it was running well.
Last night, after the game and after talking to her mom and aunt and uncle (who agreed to drive it) -- then (y'all know what's coming here...) I pretty much had a panic attack. What if something goes wrong. What if it stalls out or something DURING the parade. It HAS been sitting in a garage for approx. 13 years, although just recently dmom let her handyman drive it to Next Town (about a 40 mile round trip.)
Hmmm... that may have been a premonition. Today I drove next door to give dbil his football tickets, and I had dsisil out there looking for how to lower the top. (She is a "car person" and also a Corvette owner. We could not find it. Also I was noticing that the ac is not working very well. Also the gas gauge is not working and it reads "empty" all the time. Also we tripped the trunk but couldn't get it to open or close.
I leave and go to the gas station and cannot get the gas "door" open.
THEN... THE DARN THING STALLS OUT ON ME IN NEUTRAL AND I CANNOT CHANGE GEARS!!!
At this point I am just about at my wit's end. Dsisil has a good mechanic, and I call her... she calls the mechanic... I am just about ready to call AAA for a tow... want to check with dmom before I haul it in to a shop... dmom won't answer the phone... ds comes to my rescue and sits down in the car and says:
"I sorta like this car." (Up until now, he has had no opinion at all except to shrug his shoulders when ddil says we need to keep it.)
About this time I try again, to show ds what it is doing, and LO AND BEHOLD, IT SHIFTS INTO DRIVE.
About this time dmom answers finally, and I tell her this car is coming home and she can sell it; whatever; I am disgusted with the whole thing.
DS followed me to dmom's and I happily parked it back in her garage. Sheesh.

I called cousins and told them I do not trust it, I am sorry, but this is too unreliable. Fortunately, dcousin has at least two leads on other convertibles. (It is three weeks till homecoming.)

I was hot, sweaty, and thoroughly exhausted with the whole idea of a Corvette. I have been totally spoiled driving a Tahoe. The ride is much smoother, I don't have to roll out on the ground to get out of it, I don't feel like I'm lying on my back to drive it, and I can take both grandchildren in it. I am 100% out of my sports car era.

ON THE BRIGHT SIDE!!!
Apparently the plumber was right. The washing machine drain IS the problem. He was here bright and early and installed a new line, told me to wash as much as I could this weekend and if all was still going well Monday, he would be back to finish the field lines.
So far it is working perfectly. I think it has been through four cycles of varying types and varying temperatures.

ALSO --
The much hated fence is coming down. There are four sections, one chainlink, the others barbed wire. The man has all the wire on three sections taken down, and the post on two sections of wire. He will need a tractor for the chain link posts but I told him that was fine. There is only the one section of barbed wire coming up the driveway now, and I am sooo glad to be rid of that! And even gladder that he is not charging me anything! He just wants the posts and the chain link fencing. He said he may know someone who can use the barbed wire as well.

FINALLY --
I told the guy to order the engine mount for the Tahoe and I will take it in on Monday (and I will drive ds' truck, rather than the Corvette.)

I do not know how much the plumber is going to charge, but I got a little bonus $ when dbil and I sold tickets to the first college football game so that will take care of the Tahoe and the plumber promises to be reasonable.

I'm sorry this has all been me me me, but I wanted to explain my absence. Dgrands have been here all day and will be tomorrow, we've been playing Jeopardy (with dgrands making up questions on computer) and I took them to the pool this afternoon. They have actually gotten along somewhat today. Tomorrow, I will have to teach their Sunday School class. I also still have laundry to put away/hang to dry. And yes... it is after midnight.
Still need to shower and wash my hair too!
