Re: House Sparrow Sunday
Enjoy your nap, Gma.
I think that the laundry is dry, helia. Instead of spreading it out and putting away the dry things each day, I seem to have left the last load I did hanging on the laundry cart in the closet, so I want to be sure.
The sink has drained. I'm fine to handwash and just let the sink drain on its own schedule, but I might have to give up on running the dw tonight.
Do you think that your stress will lift once the girls are in school? They will be busy with coursework and making new friends then.
I'm sure that your dcat enjoyed the afternoon in your lap, Kittykatt. Have a good night.
Good night, FrenchFly.
I'm glad that you enjoyed the movie, L.Ann. I have always enjoyed the first three books in the series the most, and the movies too.
Sunday
Spread laundry around apartment to dry better
Put on a pot of coffee
15:
Empty granny cart
Put away one bag of groceries
Started on second bag
2 X 15:
Mini organizing of pantry shelves
Put away the dw cart
Heart pill and peanut butter for Germane
Started veg for breakfast
Scrubbed out sink and basin
15:
Emptied desk wastepaper basket
Washed the soaking pot
Put more dishes in to soak
Put rice on to cook for Germane
15:
Prepped potatoes and vegetables for breakfast
Washed more dishes
Dumped the water and watched the basin bob around cheerfully in water that is not draining. It’s the weekend, so there is probably a spike in neighbours dumping oils and fats down their drain. It usually gets cleared up by Monday.
Breakfast!
15:
Cleaned up after Germane
Put away laundry
Brought out more laundry to air
Spiffed self
Breakfast for Germane with dog food, rice and probiotic

This took longer than usual, as we only have one elevator working on what is laundry night for people who work M-F, and it is the last weekend of the month, so moving day, AND it is move in time for students and we are in a student ghetto. People were being very accommodating of one another on the one functioning elevator.
Called db for a nice phone visit. Sat on the balcony and watched the sunset while we talked.
Watered balcony plants.

Re: House Sparrow Sunday
I liked the first book and movie the best, L Ann.
Ah! That makes sense, Kitty. Our church service is 10-11:45/ 12, and if there is coffee or conversation afterward, we may not get home until 12:30, occasionally closer to 1 pm. That's a great SHEM, Kitty.
I think so Doggedly. Also, I'll just become accustomed to having them here. I feel like I need to be making sure they're entertained or happy every moment -- which is funny because I didn't have that attitude about my own kids. LOL! I just need to chill out. They're probably fine and seem pretty happy. They're slowly coming out of their shells. This has got to be a big "shock" to their systems - jetlag, new house, new bedroom, new school, new foods, new people, new language. Everything. I keep reminding myself, they're quite young - just 16. --Glad your laundry is dry.
At dinner tonight, Dd30 shared a fun new trick they've discovered Fable, dd28's Labrador retriever (almost 2) can do. Apparently, they've been propping the door open so Fable can go in and out. Well, Lily, dd30's quite elderly cat with only one eye (neighborhood kids shot out her left eye with a bb gun when she was 2 years old and used to go outside) has discovered this and will escape the house from time to time. She really shouldn't stay outside as she's not naturally athletic (Ragdoll cat - not the most athletic) and is now rather frail, and there are all kinds of predator wild animals here. When they can't find her, all they have to do is ask Fable, "Where's Lily?" and she'll eagerly go find her. LOL! Fable is very excited to be with Lily, so it's kind of like a fun game to her. Lily has warmed up to Fable after detesting her for a year and a half. Dd30 said they've found them both lying down together in the backyard.

Re: House Sparrow Sunday
That is clever of Fable, helia. It's all a win for Fable; she gets the excitement of the game and the humans playing with her, and then she gets to be with Lily.
I remember that my childhood cocker spaniel, who had never shown evidence of genius, observed that when one of our cats caught a bird, one of the parents would come flying out of the house and chase the cat around, which was great fun for the dog. She taught herself to bark as soon as a cat caught a bird to bring attention to it and start the fun.
