Write it down Wednesday PWYC

Post by Twins' Mom »

LadyM yesterday showed us her tracking chart, most of us have some kind of list going, or a card file. The common thread is that it's on paper, it's written and not swirling around in our brains loose. Or capture the task or thought digitally - phone, computer, iPad, whatever. It's preserved either way. The act of writing, using our fingers and pen or hands to type somehow cements the thought and helps with memory too.

So write it down! Don't count on that overloaded memory of yours, lol!

Harriet asks " do you mean that getting the bs info down in tracking is a lot to get planned? "
In a word yes!

But it's more after than before.
I'm still in the learn to set up the pages mode and the remembering it's also very time consuming.
Date Time a.m. p.m. meals Rx exercise & activities stressor illness etc.. { it's a royal pain. }
There are times that we need to do pre and post meal b/s checks that adds extra stuff into my already full schedule.
They recommend 4x a day.
Today's mission or some time this week is to get holes dug for my new tulip bulbs.

I have walked today. bs was up had to walk in the dark today. * note to self get out reflective vest.
got flash-lites out some are not a bright now so need to deal with that as well.

Yesterday I walked 5.99 mi. & got 14K + steps in.

-grocery store down the hill
-get brisket going

I hope I can get enough momentum to get through those four...may take until noon but we'll see....

Hi!

Once I saw how little info both of dh's doctor's ask for, I don't chart anything. They ask dh what his sugars are, he tells them "I had a 8.4 this morning" and they rarely ask about any other info. He goes for bloodwork a week before his appointment. They get info from that. Until they ask me to start a journal with all the info that Nancy listed, I'm not going to spend time recording any of that.

Speaking of dh and doctors and bloodwork, dh has to go for bloodwork at some point today. He sees his regular doctor next week.

good morning -
d twins thank you for starting us on this beautiful (in my area hot and humid) day
I too loved d lady's check off chart! I will put that into motion soon!

cheering you through the four right things that you want to get done!

good morning d Nancy you can plant bulbs soon? that's great. We can't do that until mid October
it's the one job that I am not thrilled with - I use a drill with a auger and I still get bored - ;)
you will have to tell us how the bulbs come out in the spring!

hello d cathy interesting - d mom does that as well. they go by bloodwork
we have to keep track of mom's vitals in the am/pm
hope your dh has a good bloodwork appointment today

have a great day everyone

------------------- Mom
I feel bad but mom has been awake and asleep since 5 something - i knew if I got her up at that time that the whole day would be up and down.
I did put on the tv while she was in bed.  I wanted a bit more time.
I feel bad about it.

Yesterday mom would not come out of her chair - I finally had to use the gate belt to pull her up - - dh had to help me and dd older thank goodness came home. She wetted her leather reclining chair. She forces herself to sit and there is no way that even dd older or dd younger can move her - thinking we may need a lifter chair - and she is super strong. it was super hard.

Thank goodness she was great the rest of the evening. It is hard for her as she wants to do everything when she wants to - but when it comes to health and basic cleanliness I sometimes I can't let her be in her pull ups like she wants - she was soaked.

card file set up for today
card I missed for 2 days: room by room - is it clutter in motion or clutter building - I can see the difference of not doing it.

mom is up and d helper is going to give her a shower.
I will get breakfast and meds together for mom

have a wonderful day!!!

Happy Birthday, Nancy!

Nancy - I get it. And yep, there's a lot about my on-paper recording, too, that is beneficial as the diary type of recording (after), but of course plenty is the planning and scheduling (before). My cardfile has a really high percentage of the "before/plan/schedule", but my planner has more like 50/50, along with the "after/diary".

Kittykatt, thank you for that recommendation. I confess (because I have heard not to use this) to having had a heavy-duty aluminum foil homemade sheet down before our recent spill, folded together with a middle crimp the way my late dfirstmil insisted I "should", lol. But the spill was astonishing with enough liquid that the crimp was breached! (smile - sounds like I'm talking about a structural engineering problem.) When I get this squared away, having something made for the task will be reassuring.

Hi, Cathy!

((blessed))

A happy supper and the whole late afternoon was FUN for us. We had a wonderful visit with dgsW and dgdC, who just hung out and also said "yes" for supper, dessert.

'course that plus the morning sociality at dr's appt and long early trip played some havoc with my wake/sleep cycle. I predict a nap later today.

It's Desk Day.
And Apron Day.
Ambitions, Ambitions! :D

My 5x5 from last night is

Pay two bills, through to mail box
Make out deposit (awaiting that one check... ..hmmm)
Make new TRACKER for Sept
1 1/2 laundry loads: mine through to drip-dry, then bathmat
Cleaning in small bathroom

Hope and reward with

Sewing
Call or email a dcousin

The first laundry load is spinning. Need to gather hangars and check it.

Good morning

Happy Birthday Nancy!

DS18 was late for work this morning. We talked when he first woke up but then he went back to bed. IMHO, he needs to be responsible for this life skill so i didn't interfere with this lesson. When he woke up 7 minutes after he was supposed to be at work, DS18 called his boss and let him know that he overslept and was on his way. Letting DS18 experience the consequences at this stage of his life is simple recovery. I suspect the next time he considers returning to bed he might make a different decision.

DD15 has been delivered to school with happy chit chat. DD15 is now doing the updates to the school website (under the supervision of teacher). I'm surprised they gave that to a 10th grader instead of someone in upper high school. The teacher explained it was because of DD15 language and artistic design skills. I'm thrilled DD15 has found a slot that fits her well.

DH and I walked at the park. It is such a happy place to spend time. It is rare when we don't talk to someone we know. Today a little girl (about 3 years old) came running up to us and wanted us to come look at the bug she found. Her grandmother was nearby and we laughed about the little girl enthusiasm with simple things of life.

I'm a bit on pins and needles with observing DH as he starts epilepsy meds. We are starting him on low dose for a few days before increasing it. So far...all is good.

Morning. Write it down. I kinda like that tracking page. I don't need half of what you have tracked but I suppose you make it on your own. Decide what is important. Physio.. routines... qt. Supplement taken. The like 👍.... hmmm that wouldn't take a lot to make.

Maybe it would help to reduce my overwhelm. I'm a little lost for focus today with so much happening. I kinda listed it out other thread too. Baby imminent.. any day. Mom is moving to the care home after the exact 9 months dd has been pregnant lol. School coming that I have to get set up today for ds. Physio appointment. That I need that tracker to help with...

What do I all have to do today. Physio. Routines. Call school after seeing if I can get ds to think about it without shutting down again. Check up on dd. Check in with sister deal with something... anything from garden.

I am so glad mom is finally getting to the care home. The hospital did great but she will enjoy having the other residents around and such. More social and trained care.
