TUESDAY TACTICS

Post by DeeClutter »

What will your tactics be today for getting things done? Mine will be to be quite firm with dear ol' med co when I call later this morning   Hatmony wrote:
M-Co is not your insurance carrier, are they, aren't they just the people who fill prescriptions?
Oh but were that true, Harmony. Therein lies our paradox. M e d c o is not only our "carrier" but also our "provider". Seems like a monopoly to me. They have us over a barrell UNLESS we want to pay many more hundreds a year for scripts.

I've been awake for at least 3 hours and have only made the bed. One hand was itching, the other carpal tunnel was rearing its ugly head, my sciatic was dancing (without me) and my knees were hurting. Made it very difficult to sleep.

Last night was dgd's firt night home. She has been extremely polite and warm to me -here's hoping that lasts. I'll do all I can to help it stay that way believe me! :D

Never did do the conference call for council last night. So hopefully someone took good notes and I'll get them shortly.

Have "Thanksgiving" dinner at church here tomorrow night. Friday have to go meet with the church secretary to go over how she does the Sunday bulletin. I had offered to 'help' last year and she sought me out first thing Sunday to see if I could "do" the bulletin for the Sunday after Thanksgiving. It's been 10 years! DD's going to help me though if need be. They use "publisher" and I always have used 'word' so there may be a learning curve. DPastor up home and I got a good laugh out of this one yesterday.

So exciting to read of your activities, MT. You're really settling in.

(((Dee))) I just hate that you are having so much problem with Medc0 company. Our insurance seems to switch yearly between Medc0 and Care Mark for the prescriptions by mail. On Jan 1 we switch over to Care mark. I'm thankful each time our prescriptions go through without a problem and hope it continues! I hope the number consolidation will help with your prescriptions so they can arrive in a timely manner. I too have priced getting prescriptions locally (instead of mail order) and the price difference was OUTRAGEOUS.

I think every muscle in my body is sore. Strange! I was actively cleaning house most of the day & worked in the garden for a couple hours yesterday, but that isn't anything unusual. I find myself hesitating to move because I know it will hurt. Not really HURT - just painful enough to get my attention and make me tense up. Hopefully as the day warms up and i become more active, the owie muscles will ease up.

There are zero appointments on my calendar today. :P SWEEEEEEEEEEETTTT!

That is sweet, Okay! :D

Amen! Some of them I could afford, but the really expensive ones -well that's a whole different story.

I'm awake after a decent night's sleep. Need to get dates to someone first thing this morning so that's why I'm here.

As soon as I got up, I realized I'm not running at 100% so lay down and took my temp. It is still 98.3 which is a low fever for me (normal for me is 97.4ish) so I decided not to do the treadmill. I have two walks planned and that will be enough.

The bed is made, the ironing done (I had to iron a sweater to get my clothes laid out), the old load of laundry is off the drying rack and the load I ran last night is on it. Plus I've updated my purse calendar with google calendar and tried to figure out the best way to get to Las Vegas with the roaring grannies from the church (I say that in the positive way, we are hoping to get there with two 80+ ladies who go there to gamble each year.) The best prices are still pretty awkward connections. (I need dates for that to get the dates I need to email for the other thing.) They expect to pay about $500 each and I can do it but it will be tricky. Must have them come over for tea and we'll book everything while they are here. But not today while I might be incubating something.

Edited to add:

1. Sent the email with dates
2. Found the cancellation of my preaching resource order in my in-box so that's over with. I hope Dee's day with MedC0 goes as smoothly.

Yucky warning! - SKIPPABLE!!

I now think I know why my muscles are complaining. I suspect I might have a light case of flu/virus. LO woke up - drank his typical sippy cup of milk then got sick and lost it all. While running for the bathroom, he managed to raise the priority of cleaning floors in 4 rooms to the highest level. And we have the 2nd set of fresh clothes on for the day.

While cooking breakfast, I had anther skillet of meat cooking with plans of making chili. When LO got sick I tried to turn the stove burners off as I ran out of the kitchen, but I missed a burner. By the time I finished cleaning everything up, the meat was done but it hadn't been seasoned (no sauteed onions, peppers, etc). So I switched meal plans and made the cooked ground meat into sloppy joes instead of chili.

OKay, I'm sorry your priorities are being redefined for you! I hope LO is feeling better (or at least stable) soon. And that you don't get hit too hard by this bug.

I've s2s and had my breakfast.

OOH I hope everybody feels better quickly. (Dee) (OKay) (LO) (Kathryn).I am feeling good. Up early again, yay, I seem to have turned the corner on that habit.

Have been working on the bookkeeping this AM. A statement made to send out at end of month. A statement started, awaiting input from DH on a charge. A couple spreadsheets updated. Got stumped with a glitch in one and took quite a while, even perusing my Excel for dummies book, but eventually I got it figured out. I love that program!

I have one more spreadsheet to update and then I'm done for now.

Dee, last eve. I was reading a medical forum I frequent and gals there were complaining about getting their meds by mail order, all of them talking about Exp ress Scr ipts company. It was like reading all your posts about M-C over again. So, you aren't alone with these problems, though that knowledge doesn't fix the problem, does it? Good luck with it today. Also, I'm loving your news that DGD's behavior is so far acceptable.

Just a quick hello as we scoot down the highway. So far I have erased footsteps, dishes, breakfast and meds and helped DH pack the truck.

We are headed for the lot and lunch with friends. We are taking a load of yard waste to the transfer station and will fill the pickup with stuff from the sheds to bring back.

Hope to see you all later this afternoon. Take care.

I've finished my Tuesday chores. The sink was draining slowly again. I've been awfully good about flushing it with two full sinks of water each week but it is backing up again so I know that a plumber is in my future. Today I did a vinegar and baking soda treatment followed by two sinks of hot water and then 5 quarts of boiling water. Hopefully that will open things up for a bit. I should also remove the trap to make sure it isn't something obvious this time, even though it is likely the regular problem (it is 25 feet plus two 90 degree turns before the sink drain pipe reaches the wider drain pipe and the grease just builds up too fast in there, especially as the house gets older and older.)
