I feel like a tumbleweed today. The wind is so strong we could just go out and in thie morning - no walking.

We are expecting high winds, rain, snow and everything except sun.

Hello Ladies,

Getting here too late to greet with a morning greeting.

I'm tumblin around here, getting the house back in shape after family dinner yesterday. Not to bad really.

We have cool and sunny weather here. Temp is now 46 and very windy. One Dson started a wood fire since it was 64 in the house this morning. But I'm not keeping it up since it warmed the house up enough for the rest of the day.

Anyone giving thoughts to New Year's resolutions yet? I made out a list of things I would like to accomplish in the coming year. One thing I got a head start on, that is reading 4 chapters of Bible each day to read in the whole thing in a year. Did this many years ago, but am enjoying it again. Actually I'm listening to 4 chapters on the Iphone each day.

Had a horrible drunk driving accident over the weekend. Two cars, 3 deaths, 3 injuries. The driver that caused the accident was a 44 year old woman driving drunk and was not injured. Three young people in their 20's died. One leaving a three year old and was pregnant with another. Very sad.

Going to surf net for awhile and then on to adventures.

Harriet, this committee stuff at church is only just the start I'm afraid. It's part of the whole building project, which is too huge for me to even wrap my brain around. There's a whole page (list) of committees and I fear this one is going to be very involved. So far they've gotten together to help with mailings. I sat next to my very best church friend and we had a happy chat for the hour. I stamped a whole stack of postcards, used up a roll of stamps. We'll find out more at the actual committee meeting in a couple weeks. I'm not sure how involved I'll be. I'm not totally on board yet. DH might have volunteered us, but I'm only going to do what I'm comfortable with.

I could be cleaning the house, but it's a beautiful sunny day and I've been sewing at my quilt rack. When it's not so nice and bright I will do some housework instead.

About resolutions, Sadie, I started a few back in October, so I'd end the year on a good note, and so far I've only made progress in one area. Jan 1st I'll try again.

Harriet - DH weight loss have been over the past 4 months. He recently had blood work done in preparation for today's doctor appoint. I would love to attend with DH, but having 4 of us (DH, myself, LO and doctor) in the exam room is tight. I did it when DH was diagnosed with diabetes because I needed to ask several questions so I would know how to cook for DH. I ended up sitting on the floor holding LO in my lap during that appoint. It was okay but not something I want to repeat if not entirely necessary. I talked with the doctor about DH progress during my doctor appoint last month and I have a copy of DH lab results, so I'm feeling fairly confident that no major change is going to be discussed in DH care today.

Sadie - YGG!! What a good goal to have for the upcoming year! I've been tracking my goals the past several months by reviewing them daily and setting new monthly goals for each category. This method of goal setting is working better for me than any method I've tried in the past. By reviewing my goals daily, it keeps them fresh in my mind. By setting new goals each month, the excitement of them stays fresh and new. I do have some goals for 2012 being formed in multiple categories and am in the process of breaking them down into monthly goals. One goal that will hopefully have a positive impact to my post here is I have decided to teach myself correct sentence structure and grammar rules. I will be going slowing and starting small....VERY SMALL... during the month of December i will be learning about nouns. January is pronouns, Feb is verbs.....etc etc etc

OKay, I believe in the poetic license method of sentence structure in village posts! When I help dd with schoolwork I am a stickler, but here I'd advise, just don't let it quench your brilliance. Oh, I see that the bloodwork was done in advance so dr has all the info he needs. Ours NEVER do that. Sigh. " I talked with the doctor about DH progress during my doctor appoint last month and I have a copy of DH lab results." THERE you go. That's what I do. I have also been known to suggest a call to me during the appt. In fact, if not for that, last time both HRH and dr would have forgotten to order his Vit D bloodwork that was due on his more frequent schedule. Please, now, if dr faints or gives dh a gold star, let us know.

Sadie, what a worthwhile resolution. My late dh did that 2 or 3 times and it was always something he was glad he did.

Resolutions - I am still on the monthly concept right now and planning the ones I'll start Dec 1. But just thinking and chatting this much makes me already realize some areas I need to focus in 2012.

helia, our minister said last week that the word "take" in "...not take the Lord's name in vain..." could be translated "carry" in Hebrew. Do you find that to be true? He did quite the sermon on the fact that we were carrying the Lord's name around all the time and how we acted mattered. So I kinda hope he knows what he's talking about! Made me think of Indiana and lucylee and the carry verb.

Lunch is eaten and tutorial finished. Now I am going to see if version 8 of the program will import data and scripts from version 5 and still play nicely. Confusion with DD's December Dragon Singers goings on are resolved and noted in my DayRunner. Babysitting arranged for 11 Dec. I don't know what we will do for Girls' Night Out, but I do know it won't be her book report due tomorrow. She finished it last night and is turning it in today. Tonight I have got to remember to take up the cat food so Dcat18 will not eat after 7:00. I am going to have unhappy kitties. I also need to set the trash out, easy to forget on GNO.

Sunny says hello from the room where she is with DH right now. He is slowly getting better. She says she won't have much time for chatting here as when she gets home there is pet care, feeding herself, etc. etc. and I guess she stays pretty late.

Dinner is done.

I have been sewing a bunch today. I want to get this part done in the next couple of days. Then I'll do a big house clean in prep for getting some decorations up.

I'm home from a long day volunteering. About 2 months ago, I found out the blank bulletin sheets had been ordered for 11 churches as a combined order. I pointed out the extreme amount of work it would be to split this up accurately and the resource person pointed out they come all together but divided by sheets of coloured paper in groups of 50 so it wouldn't be too bad.

Today the order was waiting for us, all 22 boxes, 55,000 sheets of paper. And they weren't separated in groups of 50 but groups of 100. And not accurately, either, I had 105 in many of my stacks and one of 120 (which worked well with the 37 sheets that were loose.) So we had to count (since the churches had to order in groups of 50.) I did the first 3 weeks and she did the first week plus setting up the other volunteer to start stacking things by church. Then one of the other people in the shared office was wandering by and I told him to count out 25 for me. He said there had to be a better way of doing it and I pointed out that because the piles of 100 were not really 100, we couldn't even count off 50 and then set the others aside assuming they were 50. So we were literally counting every sheet.

He thought a bit more and said, "Weigh them!" It was a brilliant plan and meant we just had to count 50 from each week and weigh them (the amount of ink on the page made a difference in the weight for each week.) Then we were able to just weigh, not count, which was about 4x faster and much less boring.

Even so, over 17 man-hours, we only got 1/2 of the order done. And tomorrow it will only be the resource person, working alone. At least a good system is in place for her but I think it is 2 more days of work for one person.

I was to come home at lunch so had to go out to eat. I phoned dh and he said he could run his errand tomorrow morning instead, so I could stay and help.

I got home at 5:45 after stopping for ink for one of the printers (Staples doesn't stock the ink in the stores for the other two) and then picking up some groceries and dh's Chinese food. He heated up my dinner while I drove home.

The weather here is miserable rain, really heavy. But, if this much moisture was falling as snow, we'd have a foot by the time it was over so I'm trying not to complain.

I'm going to try and get my Tuesday chores done and finish up my Sunday chores. Monday was a lost cause but I don't think I can get those chores done too.

I've forgotten a prescription for my ddad and feel foolish. Also my car is out of gas. So in the a.m. I may find myself flying around doing a lot of errands in the cold wind. It will have to be early in order for HRH to "cover" for me because he has a meeting at 10. A couple TaDas for today are that I visited my colorist and, in the same vein, found some more LC for a bearable price on Overstock. Having wet hair, though, kept me from going out on forgotten errands this afternoon/evening.
