Thursday, a new month begins

Good morning to each of you as we begin the last month of this year!

Today starts at least a week of the highs only being in the 30's. I know it is December but we have had such a wonderful fall that I hate for the cold to hit. Oh well, time marches on.

We close at 10 am today. After that we have to go to the city office and get the electricity and water put in our name. I called yesterday and you can't do it over the phone. I went down there and I couldn't do it because I am not "authorized" on our account. We have been in this house over 15 years and at that time, there was none of this authorization process. Anyway they filled out a paper for me to have dh sign and after today I will be "authorized". Funny, I haven't had to be "authorized" to write out a check and mail each and every month. Dh always comments that he makes the money but I am the money manager.

We are getting a 10 year loan. After we sell this house we will put that large chunk on the loan and I plan to have the rest paid off by dhs 62 birthday in March of 2014. Then if he works longer it won't be because he has to.

I slept really good last night. I think I fell asleep as I hit the bed. I didn't wake up until the music came on, on the alarm clock/radio this morning.

Better get upstairs and fix dhs lunch.

Good morning! I need to get rolling today. The urge is to take it easy today - I've had two long days of Tuesday/Wednesday. Yesterday left the house at 7:10 a.m. for CPE and didn't get home until past 9 p.m. from meeting then program at temple. The only thing on my schedule today is meeting with the rabbi at 10 a.m. but there are some errands and to-dos lurking around.

Dh and I are still deliberating on the house purchase. I'm kind of backing off but we also are reviewing all the covenants and the sample offer. I'm feeling stressed at the thought of moving and getting this house on the market with tax season coming on.

Some thoughts about today:
-errands outside the house
-continue working on upstairs playroom/craft area
-several things added to my list by dh

Lilac we pay our internet bill automatically with the credit card. Got new cards, same number, new expiry date. They did an automatic call to remind me to change it. Dh had tried on the internet but it failed (and said try again later) so I phoned in. They spent forever figuring out who I was but then wouldn't let me update the account. Luckily dh sends me copies of the invoices (they come to his email but I need to file them for the business books) so I had the account number. But that wasn't enough. They would not accept a new credit card number from me.

Dh added me to the account but I kept pointing out to the guy that had dh been away, our account would have gone into default because they wouldn't let me pay. (Although I might have been able to set up an online bank payment since I had the account number, I don't know if the automatic credit card payment means I can't do additional online payments.)

I understand them not letting me change service parameters, but to not pay? It is like the bank last week not wanting me to put money into our business account until I explained why our company had the name it did.

Dd2 has had a running tab with me since she was divorced from her ex. It started out as tuition when she was working on her teaching certificate. Then it was cash here and there when she didn't have a check with her. Since she has been married to her dh, there have been times that she mentioned paying me and I didn't have the total with me. Recently she said that after the closing they wanted to pay me in full. Luckily I kept careful records of how much, when and why because it totals over $4000.00 and have made a detailed list for her. It just proves though that the small things add up. Her owing us this money has been no big deal to us but dm and dd1 are forever asking if we have been paid. At different times they have heard her say, add it to my tab. At any time since she has been married to her dh, if we would have needed it, they could have paid it.

I need to call the mover today and set a moving date. Dh and I are hoping 2 weeks from today.

Guess I better do breakfast and meds, so I can start getting ready.

Kathryn, I remember shaking my head at the stupidity you faced having to explain the why of your company name.

I'm on the treadmill just finishing up my 2 miles. On the bright side, I want to do at least 2 miles a day. I discovered this when I switched to TSO. That routine was only 33 minutes long and I need 40 to do 2 miles so I've added Epic Violin Girl (the one I walk to at 3.7 mph) twice to bring it up to 38 minutes. I'll have to find another song to add later but for today it is long enough because of the time I spent fiddling with Media Player.

Non Profit housing board meeting today followed by a Christmas tea for the residents of the building. Must remember to dress up in something seasonal. I baked MamaP's squares last night and pulled some baking out of the freezer. I might grab a fruit plate at the store on my way there.

I also grabbed a roast for tonight's dinner since ds is coming, I'll have to start that on time-bake since I won't be home until after 5 p.m. and ds has a service call to do in the evening so has to be out of here by 7. Today is my house cleaning day so I'll work on clearing off the dining room table so we can eat in there.

Good Morning All.

I hate it when they have to talk to DH to allow me to make changes to our accounts. That is why most of them are in my name. I agree with KIC - it is especially stupid when I am trying to pay them.

It is Thursday and DH is off to breakfast with the boys and I have my blog updated. Funny story on why my hair smells like Irish Spring body wash - if you have time to read it.

I am going to print off the dues billing for the HOA back at the old park and move some more books in today.

We have decided that Saturday we are going on an exploration trip. We seem to drive the same ole / same ole route all the time so we are going to the pancake breakfast and then take off for about 1/2 a day to explore some of the nearby towns.

Time to eat some breakfast. TTFN

Cardio appointment was good. Everything iws back to normal but we do need to tweak meds with the addition of some new ones for my asthma.I had a 20 year break and now it is back. I lost 22 pounds.

Guess why I went to ER before you continue reading.

I thought I would tell you a little about my unexpected journey of 2 weeks. It started right after dinner on a cold night. I was going to the living room and didn’t make it thankfully I got as far as my electric chair. My blood pressure was crashing. It is normally about 100 – 110. I knew from the feeling I had that it was probably in the upper 70s and dropping more.

I pushed my medic alert button. Security called immediately and since I didn’t answer he came immediately. I told him to call the nurse. She came immediately and took my blood pressure and told Security to call the ambulance.
When I was in my house and was like that I couldn’t use the phone because I was blacking out. It would take a while to regain consciousness.

I was semi-alert when paramedics came. I remember them moving my chair to the hall. I was firm I didn’t want to get on the gurney they were firm I was going to do it. Security had to tell me about that process since I wasn’t alert. He said I didn’t get belligerent I was firm and they were firm and kept working with me until I did what they wanted. I blacked out until we got to the hospital.
