LOL Elizabeth: that happened to ds when he moved out and it snowed. Glad your drive to work wasn't too bad.
Harriet checked out your post and dealt with it.

It is cold and cloudy here. My order arrived a few minutes. I got a single cup Keurig coffee machine and some book cases.

Elizabeth, 6 inches of snow already! Wow. Just shovel slowly and if the snow is heavy don't load up your shovel real high. Take breaks. Pay a youngster!
It's been a long time since I've shoveled snow. However, we have year-round lawn and garden chores. I really don't know which is harder.
Anyway, just had big workout. It's 87° now. I need to get into shower next.
Hi Indiana!
Done: Big huge area of front lawn weeded.
1 cart load of leaves raked and dumped. Our trees are huge. And they are still loaded with green leaves. Dead leaves have just begun to fall. I will have to do this all winter.
2nd LOL out hanging, I counted 19 pieces on this load.
1 LOL from the other day folded.
More left on my list to do than stuff I've accomplished. Think I've been too ambitious with the list today.

Re: Make Monday Marvelous!
Time for me to regroup and get started on afternoon activities. I stayed busy this morning, but didn't get many cards completed.
<skippable rant>
The phone took up a large amount of time - i am one of "THOSE" people who prefer to say what I called for and get off the phone. I don't enjoy talking on the phone for an hour (or more) However, there are several family members who LOVE to have long conversations. it is truly an act of love for me to not cut the conversation short. I showed my love to 3 family members this morning by staying on the phone waaaay too long (IMHO) until they finished their conversations. However, my talk-on-the-phone quota is used up for awhile.

Elizabeth snow shovel tip: spray or wipe cooking oil on the shovel if the snow is sticky and it will help it slide off easily as you fling the snow.
Back from the dentist. I'll be referred to someone who does more jaw work than she does and he'll determine what, if anything, I can do to reverse or slow the degradation of my jaw.
Before I left I made up the Christmas card list for dh and printed it off (he told me not to do addresses but I think I might because there are so many to do, it will save time in the long run.) We have 58 newsletters to do plus the cards (about another 50 - 60.)

Oh, I can equate with you, Okay! Think a good share of us here don't like being on the phone any more than we have to be.
Posted a couple of things in J&C.
DH and I went up to pick up dgd from school. Stopped to get gas on the way -paid $3.14 today -lowest since we got here!. Went to the bank to the ATM only to find someone working on it -will return tomorrow when we go up to pick up dgd again. DD had a Dr appointment today, her TSA team after school tomorrow and Wed. is 'early dismissal' day -so have to pick up dgd 3 days in a row. DSisIL can't understand why we do it -welll it makes things easier for dd by a long shot and it's good 'rent'. Next week will be a problem for Tuesday since we'll be visiting friends in Bradenton.
DGD actually had the 'day off' on Friday -can we say "suspension"? Told her Mom, "It's only the first time" -4 days into school! It will be discussed with her therapist tomorrow. We can see her beginning to fall into her former patterns. Although she has been quite respectful/polite to me so far. DD did really let her have it and told her she has no options left for her as far as school is concerned. Hopefully she 'gets it'.

Re: Make Monday Marvelous!
Well, I now have my Hebrew text and a re-stocked kitchen. I think I'll make fish (salmon or trout) for dinner Wed. night, and I'll get that from Trader Joe's Wed. after my final.
I put the tetrazzini in the oven; we need to eat early. Dh is going to a meeting tonight at 6 and ds has robotics tonight at 6.
I'm studying - but am very distracted. Dd16 is playing Cmas music, lovely, but not conducive to anazlyling Hebrew verbs and clauses. I'm going to retreat to the play room to study.
Rain has turned to snow which is not sticking. The temps have dropped since I last posted but are still above freezing.

Re: Make Monday Marvelous!
Two posts reminded me of my dmom today, both from OKay! My mother was always surprised that anyone wanted to talk on the phone for more than 5 minutes. She used to tell me that she wondered if the other person knew what it was to have something on the stove, or more importantly, didn't they know what it was to have to go pee!
And
"Dance a few steps as going through the day.
Clap when no one expects it.
Smile and see if it is contagious."
definitely describes her. Any lilt of music would have her dancing through the kitchen or clapping to show the family what the "time" of the music was. She even used to clap for the puppies. (rearing litters whose mother didn't have milk or had had to have meds)
Twins Mom, if I had a big trip like that on my schedule I'd be obsessing about it! You are calm and cool.
Dee, I hope dgd's school life can calm down.
Kathryn, I wish you could have had more answers today, but sounds like you'll be headed in the right direction.
Harmony, she may still have aches and pains with that - hope she's not too bruised. Congratulations on quilt on its way.
I have 2 deliveries on their way,UPS and FedEx, with promise to be delivered before end of day. So I don't feel like I can move! What sometimes happens is that they see a German Shepherd and won't make an attempt unless a person actually walks up to them. there is one lady who delivers who is very much like the Soup Nazi - "you have DOG. No box for YOU."
Yea! Barely made it home with dd in time to receive UPS delivery. I saw two trucks linked up rear-door to rear-door as I made the school run, so I was antsy but it worked out fine. This was dd's book and she says teacher was very upset today about everyone having to share. Now tomorrow dd can relax.

Re: Make Monday Marvelous!
I've really had a pretty productive day. Playroom is looking a lot better between the garbage and paper recycling I dragged out earlier, and the dcleaning lady's work. Dr appointment went okay - we'll see how things look when the blood work and cholesterol numbers come back - warned me that I may see a script for Lipitor in my future. Then I went by my office to enter my time for last week's CPE, and then on to hospital for chest x-ray ordered by surgical oncologist. (If the small melanoma on my arm has metasticized it could show up there.) Then on to car dealership, where I finally got there at just the right time to have my car serviced. Stopped at the bank on the way home and feel very good about all that happened.
Dd has responded that she will be ready to home very late on Thursday or on Friday. This presents a problem since my company has CPE scheduled for the entire day. Since this is a reporting year for me, I have to be sure I have enough CPE if I have to skip 1/2 of the day on Friday. (and I have to say, that, would be a complete tragedy for me to have a valid reason to not be there.
) I need to do a 2 hour online CPE session tomorrow beginning at 1 p.m. for my Ethics requirement for the year. I registered for that today also - put another check mark down for me for today!
