Now.....I must get going! I had a wonderful little nap with Moses against my back - he is warm and comforting and loves being close to his people.

-get up dd for her dental appointment at 1:15
-call plumber and leave message
-clear kitchen counters
-get dressed! brush teeth, etc.
-check on whether dd's ailing computer is under warranty

AH OH, there's Harriet laundering money. Thought that was illegal. Did you get any sleep last night after DDad was napping all day yesterday?

(Lilac) I'm sure things will be rocky for a while as you move and the DGKs get used to that being YOUR house now, and I hope things ease up and straighten out quickly.

Kathryn, so sorry your jaw has not recovered. Maybe if I couldn't chew I'd lose weight...hmmm, no - ice cream, etc., I'd be in trouble.

I slept in a good while this morning. My eyes have been sore and this AM looked like one has a little infection. I used old makeup Sunday. I'm going to throw that away and get new.

Did get all things current at my desk though, except for spreadsheets which is my next job. Stack of bills paid is in mailbox waiting for pickup. Does anybody but me think the new no-next-day-delivery mail changes will affect them? I need to straighten up everything on my desk and then go into kitchen mode.

I will be tinkering in there, cooking a turkey and making cookies.

Done with those, also checked in and printed my boarding pass for tomorrow's flight.

-start a load of laundry
-clear kitchen table
-make the bed
-start a list of stuff to remember to take with me!
-get out larger purse for the trip

Barely squeaking in here in time to use the morning greeting, it's 11:59 on my computer.

Another gloomy day here weather wise.

Slept in a bit this morning, got up just before 9.

Hi, Sadie - guess I should be grateful for sunshine today. Nice you are getting enough sleep.

Harmony, I am also shook by the potential for no-next-day delivery. Over our lifetimes, the mail service has worked UP to this standard of clearly understood delivery times. I don't think realization has hit that this might not continue to be available. Just like using my microwave "by the seat of my pants" these days, I can tell you pretty accurately by glancing at a town name whether an envelope from me will get there the next day, and can recite priority/express differences readily. It's not just the loss of practical aspects of it, it's coming to grips with the fact that a "simple thing of life" like dependable mail delivery could be a thing of the past, and that we will actually go backward/DOWN in efficiency of it. I feel sorry for small-business retailers who depend upon mail and may lose their edge of speed.

I'm on a second load of laundry. Have walked with my ddad - very glad he doesn't seem to remember his lethargy from yesterday. Sad that, viewing his brother's house at a distance, he couldn't remember how they were kin without my prompting. (Yes, I did get some sleep last night - we think he slept through about 18 hours, which dr thinks is actually good for cognition. Not so far.) Got another call back from the school where a very nice guidance counselor has taken up dd's quest to get into an art class. Not too promising, but I do think they are trying.

(((Harriet))) yes, you are under stress and handling it beautifully, even if you don't think you are. I just hate for you that your ddad is having so many memory problems. I am relieved that you have such a wonderful support system. Especially HRH. Too bad he can't be cloned.

Elizabeth, I think you and your dd9 have a blossoming relationship. I am so happy for you.

Harmony, after using that hand cream?, for 4 nights, I can really tell the difference.

Indiana, I am so glad to see you posting.

Ran errands this am. Talked to dd2 and she has some smallish boxes, so later I will go get them.

I really wish I would have ranted here first, instead of making the mistake of telling dm. She is so negative about dd2, dgs7, dgd15 and dgd2. Of course, dsonilaw, dgs5 and dgdalmost 8 months and named after her can do no wrong. I had told myself that I was never going to mention anything negative about dd2 to her and then I did and boy is she running with it. Dd2 is still hurt over the way dm has acted towards her for the last 8 months. I have decided that the next time dm visits, she will see dd2 and her family once and that is it. Dd2 agrees. She says her boys cringe at the mention of her. Dm is so partial to dd1. Dd2 says that dm always compliments dd1 on what she is wearing, even if it was 10 years old with holes in it. Dd2 can have on a new outfit and dm says nothing. Then dm will ask dd1 kids about school, etc. and won't ask dgd15 anything. It has just escalated into some very hurt feelings on dd2 and her families part. Dd2 says without dstepdad here for a buffer, she can hardly handle being around her. I agree. Dm started out being so sweet after he passed away. The more time goes on she has started acting like she can say or do anything and we are supposed to just put up with it. I shudder to think what my life would be like if she ever has to move here. I just hate being put in the middle of the two of them. Dm is always griping about dd2 housekeeping. This from a woman whose own daughter has not been in her house since late Dec. 1990! That is not a misprint.

I better quit rambling and get to packing.......................

Everyone sounds so busy today, getting things done. I have a list of 5 items that I want to accomplish today, so I'm working my way down the list. Errands later this afternoon. I'm trying to avoid stores next week when they will be very busy.

It was cold last night - 30 degrees - everything frozen this morning. The high is predicted to be 51, so I'm dressing warmly when I go out.

Glad to hear OKay is doing well, learning her way around all the bells and whistles of DS place. Good to hear DDil is recovering well.

Home again from errand run: bank, alterations shop, groceries, liquor store, drugstore, post office, cleaners and town library. I've unloaded and put away most of groceries but not unloaded anything else.

Going to give myself a little downtime now. I don't know what dh's plans are for tonight; dd must have gone somewhere else after her dental appointment.

Back from one errand today br-r 28* and it's cold out we are supposed to have snow on Thurs. today is the coldest day of the week here cloudy with air inversion will be glad when it clears up.

I gave myself some downtime but also printed some stuff about the house and some confirmations, etc. for my trip and got the mail. I also ordered a Silhouette Cameo cutter for myself for Hanukkah and my birthday.

-finish emptying the car and clean it out a bit
-reboot laundry
-feed the poor suffering dogs
-make sure that I got all the house documentation saved to Evernote for later review
-upstairs start pulling out what I need to take with me

Going to have more iced coffee; I don't think it will bother me.
