What are those things you're intending to do that haven't come to fruition yet? Today is a day to make some of those intentions "done deeds."

Yesterday I intended to write for the temple bulletin, which will be printed soon. As soon as I woke up this morning I realized I had forgotten it - perhaps one of those conveniently forgotten things for I did enjoy having time yesterday to do some laundry, clean up the house, nap and finally get my new toy out of the box. I also must take care of my CPE records and do an additional hour of CPE before Sunday, and dh is adamant that I must take care of our unreimbursed medical expense (turn in for reimbursement) before Sunday.

Yes, I have lots of good intentions going!

-clear kitchen counters
-reboot laundry
-meds/vitamins for me + ddogs
-feed ddogs
-hot kitchen counter clearing

9:13 - done with that round and trying to get my mind around writing for the temple bulletin.

Dcleaning lady is coming this afternoon, I think. That will work well because I have a massage this afternoon at two.

Twins - that is a great theme for today!

Last night was a smashing success. Might be a little strange for others, but I am enjoying the time spent with xDSon-in-law and his wife. It does not replace the ache from loss of relationship with DD, but it was fun to be around her older children and their "now Mom". LO loved it because he had his brothers AND a 3 year old playmate. Everyone enjoyed the meal together and the carriage ride among the lights. DH and I have done this activity for years, but it is always enjoyable and I find myself looking forward to doing it again next year. The friends who operate the carriage ride always greet us like we were someone special. All the senses are overloaded at once.....the skin feels the night air......hearing the clip-clop-clip-clop of the horses hooves....the sway of the movement of the horses......the coziness of snuggling under the blankets while looking at the million of lights .....hearing favorite songs as going from one display to another and singing as a group.. Yup! Definitely my kinda fun

** DBro viewing this evening. Funeral arraignments are finalized. Yesterday I printed DBro obituary and took it to DParents so they could read it in private before seeing it published/public.
** Prepare clothes for tomorrow funeral
** Decide on taking LO - I'm leaning toward taking him. He will sit quietly now and I think being exposed to a funeral would be good for him to see. I think. Maybe. Still not decided for sure. Need to arraign for someone to keep him if I lean toward not taking him.

Noting that OKay's family is taking the time to publish an obit with correct info, and passing by several people to catch errors or make sure all agree. I think that's one of the highest and best moments following the death of a loved one. It's respectful all around : to the loved one, to the family, to the future. Matriarchal stuff, OKay. Good job.

I was up with HRH and he was out the door shortly after dawn. Have spent the time clearing and cleaning the front part of the house. Had I not watched dd13 mop the kitchen about 2 or 3 o'clock yesterday, I would not have believed this morning that she ever did it. Lots of bags of trash un-recyclable.

Have not heard from dd33's family yet this a.m. They have plenty of breakfast items. They will miss HRH coming by with biscuits, though, since they are here now on a weekday morning rather than a Sat. They want to go out today - I wonder if it has dawned on them that in order for me to go we will have to wait until HRH is home. I need to call dsecondbil and make sure his family still wants to come by this evening.

We are getting snow, a lovely steady fall that is "sticking". We ought to go out to get some cream for coffee (half and half, actually) but other than that we are set to avoid going out.

Festive Greetings to all you lovely Ladies.

I've not caught up on posts yet. Will go back and read them quickly. We had really heavy rain this afternoon...pics posted in outdoor spaces as to what my garden looks like after an hour and a half of the rain.

Been school stationery shopping (back to school specials are out at the moment)....got everything on the required list....only thing missing is the pack of 50 assorted ball point pens which works out cheaper to buy at the moment.....store doesn't have stock of the pens. Will wait till they get stock. School only back on 18th January 2012 for the new school year. DD14 has passed and will be going to Grade 9 - second year of high school in this country.

I made a list of a few things I want to finish before Saturday noon.

We are having a Newfie New Years Eve celebration so we can be in our beds by 10 pm. bsweet and Kathryn probably can guess what it is. Does anyone else know?

We got a little snow early this morning - about an inch.

Indiana I'm wondering if that is any thing like we do here celebrating w/ NYC then younger ones can go to bed.

I have cookies thawing for the grand kids to frost when they are here today, they can take some home and eat them while they are here for snacks.

H. got up earlier that I did and got the trash rounded up and to the curb I keep trying to encourage him to get it ready the night before ~sigh~ but that does not happen. Seems he says some thing about concern about wind coming up when I mention it.
Any way we are up bed is made.

Looks like our church does not do a New Year's Eve thing, dd is doing one and cleaning this morning, shopping after she drops kids off to play with their older cousins here. All the grands will be here today so frosting cookies seemed like a good thing to do for the snack time. Lunch frozen pizza or sandwiches. Some actives will be puzzle time and I'm not sure what else but they seem to find things to do and have fun I have one bag of popcorn left. I'm just glad that they still like to come over even though some of them are older now!

Hmmm... so here are my DEEDS for the day... at least, this is the plan:

[ ] ironing lady
[ ] bank
[ ] drug store
[ ] post office
[ ] call place where I have to return dh's Christmas gift

The following items don't HAVE TO be done today, but they are on my radar, spinning around in my head.
[ ] reconcile checkbook
[ ] finish grading exams & posting grades
[ ] laundry
[ ] return/exchange gift @ mall
[ ] get SUV washed/vacuumed
[ ] put away Christmas * probably will wait until weekend for that -- Friday & Sunday -- although we are going to ballgame Saturday, so that will take the wind out of my sails for Sunday. I just do not have the energy & motivation level I need. In other words, I guess I'm just lazy.

I'm so glad you got to enjoy some grandchild time in the midst of the sadness. The carriage ride just sounds beautiful.

Also glad to hear of all the goings-on at Harriet's house.

Still can't believe that NEXT CHRISTMAS, I will be talking about a grandchild.

Snow sounds so pretty, cathyy. We're just getting rain. Lots and lots of rain. It sounded so nice in the night, but it makes for a pretty dreary day. And it is VERY cold!!! (Obviously not cold enough for snow, though.)

That was interesting to me, Lisa, that dd starts new school year in January. Sounds very logical, of course, but here, I think school has started the new year in Aug/Sept since... oh... since Adam & Eve's boys went to kindergarten, I guess. I teach 9th grade. It used to be the second year in our high school, but we moved 8th grade to the middle school building a few years ago. (When I was a student, 7th AND 8th grades were in the high school building). Actually, 9th grade has always been the first year that our high school credits count, first year averaged for final GPA to be reported for college applications, etc. Anyway -- I hope your dd has a GREAT year!

Indiana has me puzzled w/the Newfie celebration. I would have thought celebrating w/NYC, also, but that wouldn't put you two hours ahead, would it? And why the special name if that's all you're talking about? So yes... I am awaiting the answer, Indiana! OOOHHHH... does it mean you're celebrating w/Newfoundland???

Well... I better get busy. Exercise... S2S... and then the errands... and DPC... * sigh * I like holiday-mode better.
Actually, I like "wrap up in an afghan and read on the couch mode" MUCH better.

Newfoundland is what I thought, too.

My nose has started running. Not just some little thing - this is stopping my life! Racing for the tissues... .... I have taken a tylenol sinus which has decongestant. HRH on the phone says take an antihistamine and if I feel worse it will be his fault. So I have done that.
