Normal Day Monday

Ds is here, no-one knows when he arrived, they gave up waiting for him and went to bed.

Dh is down and starting his hour long breakfast routine. Dd is doing something else so I need to start pushing on the tree getting done.

I've washed up yesterday afternoon/evening dishes and some of this morning's dishes. I'm tidying the kitchen as I go.

Good Morning

I can walk without the stool this morning but I'm still limping a little. Scale was down 2.2 pounds this morning!!! BS and BP were up however - but not by much.

I, too, want to get the tree etc. down today and put away. DH said he can put that stuff up in garage attic so I don't need to find a home in the house for it.

Just noticed that the fireplace and TV need dusting - first time I've had dark wood for a long time that shows the dust. So that is on my list today.

Other than what I've mentioned - my goal is to rest my knee some more and the parade and games will do just fine.

I do need to do some paper work for the HOA. I will be glad to get rid of that responsibility in Feb.

LOL, dh is finally gone to the grocery and I'm considering that round done, except for starting a new lol.

Setting timer this time, goal is do get as much as possible done so I can have a nap this afternoon. I stayed up until almost 1 a.m. reading last night and ddogs had me up at seven.

I've asked dh to bring in firewood today to the screened porch and to take ashes out of fireplace, and we'll have a fire later when company comes in. High today is only supposed to be in forties, after being in sixties this week.

So....this round:
-strip sheets from guest room bed and remake
-put away stuff on front stairwell (this includes some wrapping paper to go upstairs)
-straighten guest bedroom (still wrapping paper up there, too)
-start a lol
-take out kitchen trash

The guy who cleans our gutters is here - the most redneck guy you can ever imagine. Such an accent I can hardly understand him and calls us every week until we tell him we need gutters cleaned. Can't take a check because he apparently doesn't have ID to cash a check, so much have cash. He called this morning and was to come this afternoon, and he's here now and I don't have the right cash for him.

I've been trying for literally HOURS to get my webcam working (it's built into the laptop). Arrrggghhhh! No luck. DD and I had it working once for about 30 seconds. Want to get it up and running before next Monday's Council meeting. Have lots to do to prepare annual reports this week. Haven't even looked at e-mail yet to see what may have arrived since church yesterday morning. Hoping they're all here so I can get a handle on it today/tomorrow.

Stripped our bed and laundered and have that re-made. Did dishes and worked on that silly webcam. DH is working on the picture collage puzzle dd gave him for Christmas. He had quipped one day that dd could get him one of those every year -I don't think so...........it was $65 just for this one! We're all working on taking a cruise Christmas (or Thanksgiving) week next year so that will be our gifts to each other. (She says hopefully).

Today is only somewhat normal. DD had to (very reluctantly) go to work, dgd is off for 1 more day -back to school tomorrow, and dsil is off from the City today. DGD is in the process of "cleaning my fish tank". Oh I absolutely know this is going to create a mess that only she can do and I can almost guarantee it won't be cleaned up. DD/DSIl gve her many things for Christmas to keep her 'busy' -things she loves. Has she used them? Nope!

Think I'll check the recording log for our TV -sure there are things I need to erase to make room for further recordings.

Normal sounds good - but is still elusive here since everyone, including dh, is still at home. Dh is working at home, prepping for his class which starts Wednesday - as does my class. Winter break for the Univ. here was very short, less than 2 weeks. The last fall semester exam date was Thursday, Dec. 22. First day of classes winter semester is Wed. Jan. 4. The profs need time to grade exams and prep for classes - so it is not much of a break for them. So glad we didn't travel or have houseguests as that helped dh max out on the down time he did have.

I seem to be missing some storm warning here. I can't find it on my weather underground web site, which claims a 30% chance of snow today, 0% tomorrow, and 10-20% the rest of the week. We got 1/2" or so (grass is still poking through in our yard) of snow last night/this morning, but that's not enough to call it a storm. Maybe something is still coming?

Weird. . . my computer just shut itself down. I got it going again and this post was still here as written. . . .

On the animal husbandry front, our hens have started laying again!! That is a good thing since dd16 is going to be comparing/contrasting different qualities of their eggs with store bought eggs for her science fair project this month.

Goals for today:
-groc. store
-laundry catch up
-work on new years letter
-maybe work a little on the calendar

Dd16 is going to a sleepover party with her Bible study group tonight.

twins hope you can find the cash for the poor guy, some people have to operate on cash only due to reasons beyond their fault and the cash they earn today could mean the difference between a meal, rent etc. if you don't like doing business with someone that operates that way you should tell him so?

Not as productive as I'd have liked, altho I actually did everything on that round. Interrupted by guys cleaning out the gutters and by ddogs upset about the bumping on the roof. Guest BR bed is re made and I made a detour into dkids bath and took down their plastic shower curtain and put in in the washer. Pulled a few books out from that bookcase to take to library for donation. Also just took ibuprofen for my back, which is already hurting.

This round of 25 minutes:
-make my bed
-straighten up Master bath
-do a swishing and swiping of kids bathroom and rehang shower curtain
-bring down all upstairs laundry
-swish and swipe downstairs powder room

Waving to all; I'm up weather is nice here today.
Granny duty in a bit, it might be more than one as school does not begin until tomorrow here.

I think my back to normal began yesterday when I was rounding up decoration items to put away. That felt great. I did some de-cluttering of videos movies and dusted. H. helped haul out the old TV and it was awesome to get that out of the basement.

OMM Foods n such: Taste wise I did not like replacing butter with applesauce or pumpkin, so next I'm going to try replacing half of it. My focus is to up my fiber intake.

My b.s. was up today, waiting to eat 'till my meds kick in. Then I'll be having an oatmeal cookie, boiled egg, and V-8. I have been thinking of meals and menus so that plan is good.
I need to get my exercises going and have the laundry to do dishes are current counters are good yea for progress I made yesterday.

Ds is up. He was home late because of a bad day at work. He loves his job but when he has a bad day, it is a horrible day. Last evening it was a 26 week stillborn and a 4.5 year old dying of heart failure (previously undiagnosed condition.) In cases like these, paperwork still has to filled in and it does affect those who are 'just doing their jobs.' They just can't show it to the families. You should see how unsympathetic ds is to sprains and drunks - he understands what real emergencies are.

Main tree is down. Dd is eating lunch and then we'll head off.
