re; Cookies I'm tweaking a cookie recipe it's awesome! Use 1/2 c. apple sauce instead of egg and peanut butter inplace of oil with trail mix in oatmeal cookies! Had one for breakfast
m-m good. I could not find b. sug. splenda at w-mart. I want to use oat flour next time.

Went to the thrift shop last night and dropped off a load, today at the dump even though it was not ours felt great to do that!

Having my cocoa coffee now, trying to get up the mojo to bag up leaves with the sun and warmer temps. I need to get a move on. need BGS

*Handing the BGS over to Nancy*. You might as well have it...it's not doing much for me I haven't done much of anything at all since I got up about 9:30am. The dining room table got mostly cleared off so I could cut some of the receiving blankets for kittycat pads, and I actually have cut about 10 of them. Other than that, I've puttered, spent far too much time on the computer, and generally been quite a slug. Time to change that!

- downstairs litter boxes
- put away clean dishes
- put/throw away 10 things from computer desk
- cut up 3 more blankets
- start turkey soup

Wow! 15 minutes IS magic. EVERYTHING is in boxes except the tree (& its decorations! ). That's probably the MAJOR thing, of course, but it is nice to have surfaces cleared in kitchen, dining room & den, candles out of windows, wreaths off doors, etc.

I need to call dmom, but I guess I'll wait until dh finishes watching this debacle we call basketball. We are very glad we did not make the trek to Nashville to watch an embarrassing AU basketball game.

Haven't started laundry, either.

But wow. Why can't I remember the 15 minute rule??? It works so well when I try it!

*** OF COURSE, I've worked longer than 15 minutes -- more like an hour -- but I can do an hour if I can do the first 15 minutes. That is what is such a HUGE stumbling block for me -- the FIRST 15 minutes. WHY is that???

Cowinkle - What a wonderful opportunity and adventure your DS is going to experience!! I'm excited for him.

Our DS is VERY technical inclined & travels frequently. DDIL is very savvy keeping a watch on their finances......so it is unusual for them to have made such a blooper. They mentioned a couple weeks ago that they had ran up a $700 phone bill in one week time talking to each other. Eeeks! Using the wrong method/app can be expensive!!

Birthday party was well attended and very successful. They little ones loved the multiple jump houses and party atmosphere with loud music. LO hair was wet from sweating after running and jumping for almost 2 hours. He should take a good nap.

Lucylee a couple of times this week I mused aloud about how glad I was that we had to take the tree down on Jan 2 (because dd had to separate out her ornaments before she left.) Had I not started that job in the morning, the bulk of the work would not have got done until today at the earliest. Jan 2 seemed early since the tree didn't go up until Dec. 24th but once it was down, I was ready for everything else to be put away as well. All I have left to do now is the Christmas cards. Even my Christmas clothes are put away.

I've made decent progress today. Got the main floor dusted and vacuumed and ongoing tidying throughout the house. The third load of laundry is ready for the dryer and the first two loads are ready to be put away (most of them go back onto the beds so I'm waiting for another burst of energy.) I also read half the pages I have left in the book I want to finish by tomorrow. I'm also making good progress listening to The Economist online. I'm now only 2 editions behind, instead of 3 (and one ahead of dh!)

Yes, great minds here all around, as usual. And thanks for the advice. I probably will go to teacher first and see from there. She may be at the end of her rope over other situations, other students. I know she came here at the first of the year from a distant system and by all accounts is very unhappy. Dd surprised me with another tidbit she didn't know would be important to me, though - the line waiting to see the teacher during class when dd got that attitude was not just other students. Dd's Social Studies teacher was next, between dd and the next child. So now I'm catching on that such an attitude happened with another professional present - with dd physically between the 2 women yet still spoken to like that - and it puts a more concerning light on it. So, yes, Cowinkie, I'd agree if it's happening to dd in that situation it's happening to any and all students, anytime.

Hey, on the English teacher front, lucylee, you'll be pleased to hear dd's English teacher is calm and collected and manages to teach while asking and answering questions! What a concept! No reason to despair of the child's opinion of educators!

helia, that's wonderful that dd16 is being treated with respect. She is in a high school situation and doesn't need any roadblocks. Great to hear adults are making time for her.

Indiana, thank you so much for keeping in touch - you will be at the top of my prayers and dd's. Touch base with drs, too! I'm sure you will. Listen to any IRL nagging - we here appreciate those near you who will. Also thank you for hunting Emptynester down when she was away a while.

OKay, is LO having growing pains at the knee? Both ds and dd13 suffered with that. When I was a girl it was in my calf muscles. I understand now that when it is a joint like knee it is more closely associated with imminent growth in height. I don't take it lightly when my children tell me about it - I remember lying awake with it. I'm so glad LO has you to listen and stay with him, get some Tylenol.
