Church service was good this morning. I took LO drum pad so he could play on stage, but after getting it set up he said he didn't want to play. NO problem! I don't want to push him into it at all. My goal is to provide him the opportunity for things that he is interested in doing. So we sat down in the congregational area but it wasn't 30 seconds before LO asked my sister if she would go up on stage with him. I think he had stage fright for the first time in his life! DSis walked with him to his seat on stage and then LO told DSis that she could leave. :) After church the drummer gave LO (and me) another drum rhythm to learn this week.

So far....so good. We haven't overdosed on sweets. We have only had 1 serving of cookies each day. I know it is early in this experiment but I am getting hopeful we can really do this!!!

B - Pita bread stufffed with sausage, egg and cheese
L - fish sticks, fried potatoes, green salad
S - Chicken stir fry, rice

Greetings Ladies,

Keeping you all in my daily thoughts. ((Indiana)) hoping you feel better soon.

Harriet, my new activities start tomorrow evening again for the next 4 weeks. Since I enjoyed the last boot camp, I'm sure I will this time again. Only worry is the possible heat problems we are having with our temps in the 30 Celsius range it's been lately.

Great job with LO, Okay. It's good to teach the young'uns numbers and counting whilst still young.

Lilac, love the descriptions of the furniture you've been purchasing.
MT, wtg on the unpacking.
Twins, the house plans are interesting.

DD14 has needed Panado a couple of times this weekend. This is due to her having "growing pains" in calf and upper legs intermittently - could this be signifying a short growth spurt?

Finally found the "right" caddy for the cleaning materials. Up till now, we had been using 2 buckets (these are two small buckets) which were not right for what we needed. So now we can have everything in one place.

Bought some new bedding - DH chose it - it's off-white and stone colours with birds on it. We are going back to the place we bought to get a 2nd set with the other design of a blue check as an alternative but this will wait until the end of January. Once we have the 2nd set, we will trash the bedding we've been using for the last 7+ years as it's now worn quite thin and not even worth cutting up for rags, but has been washed and folded neatly and put away.

All laundry is done.
Dishes are done.
Vacuumed the lounge and sewing areas.
All bins are emptied and bags replaced.

I enjoy reading about everyones daily activities.

(((Indiana))) I hope you get to feeling better soon. You are ALWAYS missed, when you aren't able to be here.

I went over to the other house to take a bath in my wonderful tub. I have just been taking showers and I realized that my feet are really suffering because of it. They were soft and smooth when we moved. I haven't taken the time to put foot creme on them and they are looking very neglected. At the other house I would set on the step to the bathtub after a bath to put on foot creme. With shower doors, there is no comfy ledge to sit on. So I am going to have to get back on track with my foot care.

Dh is over at the other house packing up his garage. I need to clean around here while I work on laundry. I want to be ready when they decide to deliver the furniture. She couldn't give me an idea of when. :? It is suppose to be 50 on Tuesday, so I will make myself work on that garage. After I run errands tomorrow, I HAVE to get started cleaning over there.

LisaB, what we were told is that, since growing pains end by the time the child is well into teen years, the pain is considered to be associated with growth, but there's not much absolute evidence, or explanation how it happens. Growth doesn't hurt, of course, but for some reason growing pains can precede growth spurts. There was once some consideration given to the idea that it was psychological, but since it so often wakes a child from sleep, and could be shown to run in families, that idea has pretty much been discredited. (I could have told them that!) When we went to ds' pediatrician for the pain, he measured ds' knee joints with a tape measure and did some calculations for his height at the time. That, along with his experience with so many children, told him enough to PREDICT (not guarantee) an imminent growth spurt (height) and he was profoundly correct, and we laughed about that quite a bit while complaining to dr that we couldn't afford to keep our child in clothes since we brought him to the dr. This is a nice write up about growing pains.

Indiana, you matter so much and are in our prayers!

Lilac, you are getting so much done - I know you feel like it's taken forever, but you have made so much progress!

((Indiana)) Healing thoughts for Indiana, please let us know how you are doing; we are concerned for you.

Quiet Sunday afternoon here - just what I needed. This morning with dd I picked up my dmom and we met dh and ds for breakfast at Cracker Barrel. Afterward dh and ds headed to ATL to get ds moved back in, and I took dmom home and dd and I came home for naps.

We've had so many big meals this weekend that I hardly want to eat tonight - I may offer to make some burgers for us later, tho.

I need to do some things to get the house ready for dcleaning lady tomorrow morning. DD is going to spend the night with the her dfriends tonight in prep for the trip back to school tomorrow morning. (Dd is friends with the two girls, one her age and one two years younger, and the older son who is a year ahead of her at UTK.) We'll meet them downtown around 8 this evening.

I did most of a.m. routine this morning, but still have some things to do...
-put away a large basket of laundry
-bring down dirty laundry
-start a load of darks
-clear kitchen table
-clear "hot" kitchen counter" and get rid of 10 pieces of paper there

Nice lunch out with ds. We chatted for almost 2 hours.

Having left my C ostco returns sitting on the counter at home, I decided to quickly price bathroom fans and pick up the emergency groceries and leave the rest for next week.

First stop, HD and I priced stuff. Nothing was perfect but that's ok, I wasn't buying today. Got the staples and lubricant dh asked for.

Second stop, national chain grocery store next to HD. I had picked this as my stop on the way home because I could do both errands in the same parking lot and be close to the highway home. I was willing to pay more for my two emergency items (milk and cereal for dh) and green pepper, green onion and mushrooms (for dinner the next two nights.)

Well, national chain grocery store had no milk. This is the third time in a month I've been to a major store and they are out of milk.

So I headed to W almart. They had 8 gallon containers of milk left. So I picked up two of them. Lousy best before date (only 9 days hence) but dh and I drink enough that it won't be a problem. The cereal I needed was there and on sale (so I saved $6 in total over buying at the other store) but they didn't have green pepper, green onion and mushrooms so I still have to go out again tomorrow. Sigh.... It wasn't like I was shopping for shitake mushrooms or specialty foods, these are staples.

Anyway, frustrated, I came home. I still have 35 pages of my book to read so I plan to finish that this evening.

Dh is cooking me dinner now so at least I don't have do that.

(((Indiana))) (((Mr. Emptynester))) and (((My DH))). DH came down with somehing strange Friday night. Terrible headache, muscle and joint pain and could hardly move. He spent the weekend in bed and we missed our Saturday night out with Cowinkie and Sweetie. We will make up for that later.

It is going to be a busy week here so I guess I need to get my lists prepared and make sure I get it all accomplished. Have a nice week everyone.

(((Mr. Norma))) Hope you're feeling better soon, also!

I'm just in a really foul mood this evening. DH has been in a bad mood, too, probably b/c of church stuff. And church stuff has ME in a bad mood, along w/dh's bad mood spreading to me... and of course school tomorrow... and college basketball Saturday, so I'll have to get up early & help drive... BUT -- I am out of school next week -- the 16th -- for MLK day, so a four-day week in sight is something to look forward to.
Maybe I'll feel better after supper. I'm hungry, also.

Also glad that all my part of the laundry is done, ALL Christmas is done -- including vacuuming the den! HOORAY for THAT!!!

No schoolwork hanging over my head tonight, and I didn't take my afternoon nap, so MAYBE * MAYBE * I can get a normal night's sleep tonight.
Tomorrow is another day.
