Convoy Tuesday
This isn't really a spin-off from Conga Friday...although it certainly could be, I suppose...but more just a side note that today in 1976, Convoy (C.W. McCall) was the #1 song in the US.

Re: Convoy Tuesday
Interesting opening, Bittersweet. I was looking in also but needed to get to work, so didn't stop to post.
I wish I didn't have to get out in the rain today to get my dmom to the doc! It's been so dreary here - I restarted my SAD light yesterday but I'm still dragging. I barely saw the start of the game last night before collapsing into bed. I'm feeling overwhelmed and second guessing myself on a lot of decisions, and having trouble making decisions at all, especially with regard to temple.

Re: Convoy Tuesday
We've been having an abnormally mild winter here, Twins - quite a lot of sunshine (even though by late December we're down to 7.5 hrs between sunrise and sunset), and temps just cold enough to keep things mostly frozen. We're supposed to get some snow later in the week, and temps are supposed to dip down to the -20s early next week.
It's my late day at work today, so I've got some time before I have to leave. Now...I need to make productive use of that time! There's the usual critter care, cat food and litter to bring in from the car, dishes to do, some work on my papertaming goal, and hopefully even a short workout.
As soon as I finish my coffee, I'm going to get moving....time to get this convoy on the road!
- start dishes soaking
- downstairs litter boxes
- bring in food and litter from car
- tidy living room
- take meds!
- throw away at least 20 items from filing cabinet
- upstairs litter boxes
- take out trash
- wash dishes
- water indoor plants

Bittersweet - What a great theme for today! Thank you!
I've got a huge grin on my face after thinking about that song and parts of the chorus is bouncing around in my head now....
Yeah, we got a mighty convoy,
Ain't she a beautiful sight?
Come on and join our convoy
Ain't nothin' gonna get in our way.
PODA -
** need to make a chemical run (2 hours of driving there/back). We have 60% chance of rain this morning so DH will make the drive to get them since MPB will be almost null.
** continue meal prep. I'm slooooooowwwwlllly getting things planned and prepped so putting good meals on the table is quicker and easier. Today I have the pressure cooker full of pinto beans. They will be packaged into single servings. Swish-Swish-Swish is the sound I hear from the kitchen now as the pressure cooker topper gently sways back and forth.
** Focus cleaning - for me this is the week to clean the dining room. It is one of the most used rooms in our home so has to stay picked up 99% of the time. However, since it is one of the most used rooms everything in it is subject to sticky fingers and grim that seems to creep up out of no-where when items are continually in use.

Re: Convoy Tuesday
My goodness, was that that long ago? A phenomenon of a recording, for sure. I guess that was the beginning of the mystique of the long-haul trucker. After that, the Bandit could make us laugh because we knew what he and Cledus were talking about! We all had to know what our 20 was - or, we had to know what a 20 was, at least. I personally think Convoy made the Peterbilt truck company, because no one knew what one was until the song, and then if you didn't know what the song meant by Pete, others took delight in knowing more than you, so it gave the company credibility! Everybody already knew a Jimmy.
Dd13 had an early morning. I'm sitting here with a pear as my breakfast. Morning Daily Card doin's are prepared and ready for me to set the timer for an hour.

Re: Convoy Tuesday
Round 1 is done, DS is safely out the door to work (DH is still sleeping
), and I'm taking a short break before starting the next round. If I keep moving at a decent pace, I should be able to fit in a one-mile WATP (Walk Away the Pounds) dvd before it's time to leave.
Off I go again!!! Vroom! Vroom! 10-4 Rubber Ducky...we got us a convoy!

Bittersweet - YGG on the WATP workout!
Yesterday I dusted off the VHS & DVR devices and hooked them up to the TV. They have been sitting for years unused, but I thought we might use them now that we have moved from 999 channels to "only" 34 channels on TV. Once I got the devices hooked up I tested them to make sure they still worked - when turned on the VHS I found the WATP was loaded and still waiting for my return to finish that exercise!
Today is Patch Tuesday so I'm applying the monthly updates to the 5 micr*soft devices we use.

Re: Convoy Tuesday
I have about 10 years that are a blur to me as they were hard years. Little babies and difficult home years with illness, not much radio/tv watching and I find I have huge holes in my memory with regards to what was going on at the time. I must have missed the convoy thing entirely, though I do remember watching a program with a trucker that I really liked.
So, today is already busy, I'm trying to catch up. Kitchen has been cleaned up with dishwater toted outside to water bushes. I've written a couple checks, looked at a couple things and made plans...
LOL spinning, work clothes today; I've S2Slippers, hot curlers are heating up. I try to look better than usual when helping with a funeral as I'm dealing with food, etc. and also must dress up a bit more. Fielded a couple phone calls.
I'll probably be gone from noon-ish to 4:00; hoping dh doesn't need anything during that time.
OKay, funny that exercise was still there! Oh, and yes, bittersweet, that is an ambitious goal with the triath. I'm trying to get the habit of walking around the block every day!

Re: Convoy Tuesday
Our street dept is doing street sealing. To do it they blow all the dirt out of the cracks, then seal the cracks with a tar like mixture. They had put a note on the door, the Friday before the blizzard, saying they were starting on Monday and to have all vehicles off the street by 7 am. Dd2 had a car that had been sitting in the same spot for over 2 years, tagged, insured and undriven. They put a note on it too. The car needed work and they were undecided as what to do, fix it, sell it or junk it. Dd2 bought it almost new in 2000, a year after her and her ex divorced the first time. It was a good car and safely transported her and dgd15 back and forth across the state many times. Then her and her ex remarried, had the 2 boys and moved back here. The little car was then his work car after they remarried. When they divorced the second time, he took the new van and she had the little car again. A year later she bought a newer SUV. They bought a new SUV last spring and the older one is in their garage waiting for dgd15 to decide she wants to drive. So here sat the car. They decided to just salvage it rather than put a bunch of money into fixing it up to sell. She came on Saturday and cleaned it out. She said she wanted to get rid of it before her dad started griping about it. I told her he had only mentioned it once and that was to ask what they had decided to do. Awhile ago the salvage yard picked it up. None to soon because the street guys were working on our block. For some reason it made me sad to see that car hauled off. I remembered how proud she was when she bought it. We have always been proud of her. The 2 times she was a single mother, she did a great job of providing for her kid/kids. Her and her ex dated 4 years, married for 4, divorced for 4, remarried for 4 and have now been divorced for the last time over 4 years. Lot of history there, that his wife doesn't want to accept.
Well blah, blah, blah. Here I sit babbling when I need to head to the other house. So off I go.....................

Re: Convoy Tuesday
Good morning! I was wrong about maids yesterday, they are coming Wed. I did get stuff done - exercised for 5 minutes (better than 0), cleared space on sewing table by just shoving boxes aside, folded laundry, ran dishwasher (but forgot cup this morning!). I ended up having cereal for dinner, not exciting, but better than skipping. Tonight is Girls' Night Out, so I will be eating Chinese and probably going to Chuck E Cheese. I went to bed early so am not as tired this am. I had a jacket for Dcat18 to sleep on so she did not try to get under the covers and wake me up as much. She still stole my pillow later. I need to get myself in gear at payroll.
