Convoychatter.... On the CB]
Ah, breaker one-nine, this here's the Rubber Duck. You gotta copy on me, Pig Pen, c'mon? Ah, yeah, 10-4, Pig Pen, fer shure, fer shure. By golly, it's clean clear to Flag Town, c'mon. Yeah, that's a big 10-4 there, Pig Pen, yeah, we definitely got the front door, good buddy. Mercy sakes alive, looks like we got us a convoy...
I'm wondering how many had/used CB's years ago? We had base station and mobile CB's in all our vehicles. Not sure why we quit using CB - maybe it was when cell phone became popular.(remembering those big ole bag phones!!)
I'm pleased with my effort today and have made good progress on getting things done.
90 = completed card count
I told LO that we would take his bicycle to the track when he woke up from his nap. So far I can walk/run fast enough to stay up with him as he is pedaling along. Of course when he gets the training wheels off, I will have a bigger challenge. The sun has come out and it is a beautiful afternoon. I want to take advantage of the nice weather and do as much outside activity as we can. Tomorrow afternoon the temps are suppose to drop and have 40 mph wind. I will be happy to stay indoors them.
Petal to the metal and zooming on shopping / errand day convoy is home. We have a cb in the basement still I think h. kept one.
I've unloaded the car cleaned it out and have the groc. put away. Library trip was successful dgd found 4 Franklin videos ~ one did not work she's watching the last one now. I have gotten on the waiting list for the DVD "The Help"; did not find the Debbie MaComber books I wanted to read so will see if I can get on a list for those next.
Well I could not find dgds heavy coat so had to grab a hoodie of dgson's for her for school today. I looked all over their house it must be in her dad's work truck. So we got some jacket's at the thrift shop to keep here. I've gotten them cleaned and they are in the dryer now. [Found one for me too.]

I am doing document mods at payroll interspersed with research on St. Petersburg shore excursions. Both people at payroll have been to St P and have given me useful information. Tomorrow maids are coming and I can't wait. I am having them once a month and hope I can afford that. If not, well, it was not a lifetime commitment, I can cancel anytime.
Granny duty is over none tomorrow after all. Dinner is done. Taking it easy on my back now. Got my ex. done is dribs and drabs today but did get it done. Sigh the timer is acting up on the dryer.
Sunny, I'm sorry dbil fell. Is he still a bit unsteady on his feet? I hope your eye gets better...or you may have to have it looked at.
MT, thinking how nice the homemade bed would be. But nice that you're not making your mattress, the way they used to with straw ticking! Here we have homemade wooden platforms under out mattresses, they fit into the metal bed frames and makes the mattresses very solid.
OKay, you need to ride with LO when he gets training wheels off. That's what I do with DGSs, and they have strict orders to stop at the end of streets at the stop signs so I can help with traffic and catch up if I need to. And DH had one of those bag phones. Then both of us had analog cell phones and they had to force us to switch!
Happy Indiana is feeling better. Nothing nicer than putting on favorite jeans, right?
Funeral luncheon at church was very simple affair, people really enjoyed themselves and many thanked us over and over for doing it for them. The table looked so nice and food was delish. I washed a bunch of serving platters, etc., wiped counters, tables, all that stuff. I enjoyed the fellowship of helping with my "sisters".
We went back to church tonight for a rally. All the committees working on stuff for the building committee. That was fun also, but poor DH kept falling asleep!
I got lots of stuff put away here, laundry folded up, dinner made. If all my days were this pleasant, I'd have no reason to complain.
Meeting is over. I was able to hold my own in the small group discussions because of all the 'larning' I did last year. The issue at hand is whether or not to add some new documents to our church's constitution. They are more modern expressions of our statement of faith. The original is 85 years old, but about every 30 years, it has been written in the language of the times. These newer versions are 'accepted' by the church but not part of the constitution so the question is, do we want to add them? 'Regular Joes' in the congregation are suppose to be voting on this subject, which requires a lot of deep theological thinking. We (the Presbyters from tonight) just aren't sure how this is going go through because people will be too lazy to do the work to come to an informed decision and no response from a congregation is considered a No vote.
The rest of the day went well. But I'm hungry because dinner wasn't all that great. It was fine, just not too my tastes. Except for the Lemon Pie.
Brainstorming - As I've posted in Cardfile Central, I'm trying to time potential ways to combine my Weekly tasks so that they are evenly distributed over 6 or 7 days, depending on whether I try to keep Sunday free of a Weekly. Our lives have had a apple-barrel-turnover, really, and I need to estimate times needed for chores again. I think trying for the same hourly amount per day of chores that are not "people things" as Sadie would say, will be better for my ddad, because he does best with the least change from day to day.
Today's Weekly task was Desk Day, and for both households, it took 1.5 hours, although this did NOT include menu planning and grocery list yet. (P and P estimated Desk Day at 2 hours) It's also not desk decluttering/papertaming, because I am mentally placing that under declutter and focus rotation this year. (first Office week rounds begin with declutter Jan 16 and Focus beginning 23rd.) But I'm hoping to pare Desk Day time down, and menu planning rightly belongs to HRH, too. The 1.5 hours seems about right for time on Weeklies each day.
So, thinking day by day - Dailies total 2 hours. Declutter must be 15 minutes minimum daily. Focus is always a mystery, but I certainly want to give the 15 daily to it, too (totaling only an hour and 45 of Focus for each area, each round - that may be a low estimate, but I'll go with it for now). If the 1.5 hours could be my average for Weeklies, then that's 4 hours a day, and the remaining can be for "people things". (Errand Day, even if I can swing one, will not fit this time limit - it's a wild card. And work with dstepdil on the other house isn't even a part of the brainstorming yet.)
If I can pin this thing down, I can parade myself over to Basic Weekly Plan forum and say, "I actually HAVE a Basic Weekly Plan", which, lately, has been a pipe dream.
Compliment - ds26 said, "Mama, I don't know WHAT you and (dstepdil) have been doing over at (ddad's) house, but that place looks GOOD!"
(The darling boy stored a bean bag chair there today. Isn't he a delight.)
Ds26 came to visit this evening. He took our tree out for us (I found gloves for him) and discarded it in the woods, and made a plan to help us with rotating all 3 vehicle inspections, then his truck inspection, beginning Thurs a.m. He had a difficult visit with his grandfather, who lost his train of thought quite a bit. I need to suggest morning visits when tiredness isn't an issue. Now the only remnant of Christmas decor is the card wreath, which I like to leave up until the end of the month.
Made steeped water this evening and a nice veggie tray.
10-4 Good Buddy!! We still have a CB in the MH for when we are traveling. It is good to figure out what the traffic jam is. Mostly the language is too blue for us to listen to very much. But we would use it if we didn't have cell phone coverage and needed help.
Going to bed early tonight just to try out the new mattress and read for a while. It has been so long that I have slept in my chair that I hope I can find my way to the bathroom in the middle of the night.
Tomorrow DH goes to cardio Dr. to see if he needs more tests. Then Sat. we head for our lot and Sunday head for Q.
Niters all. See you in the morning.
