Waving to everyone this morning it's cold out 19* here.
Today my BS is #300 I know it's hormones b/c day before yesterday it was in the low sixties! ~sigh~ so no brekfast for me except a boiled egg & coffee. Meds. have been taken.
Granny duty is starting earlier than I was told as dd has to get a loaner phone, she droped her's at home depot last night and the screen is not working.
I need to vacuum after ripping up comp. note books aka journals for mp's last night it needed a spiff in the living room. That may have to count for my exercise today.

Re: Make yourself happy Thursday
Sunny, very cold and windy today. I had planned to stay home. Note to self, quit planning that because something always comes up. Dgd2 threw up all night. Dgd15 has a dr. appt this afternoon. So rather than go expose myself to sick dgd2, I will be in a waiting room exposing myself to who knows what. This is a different clinic than I go to, but this one has a very large atrium and you are not on top of each other breathing. So I am hoping for the best. Although I don't know why I am worrying about this because my body can't decide if it wants to come down with a cold or a stomach virus. I feel gaggy and nothing sounds good to eat, plus my throat feels a little raw. I keep ignoring this because I just don't have time to be under the weather. I do know that I should own stock in Airborne, as much as I have used lately.
Better try to accomplish something in the next 2 hours..............

Lilac, not to be too negative but it sounds like you might be coming down with what your dd has.
While on the phone with my music friend last night, she got sicker and sicker and suddenly cut the conversation off. Stomach viruses seem to be all the rage this year.
I'm still at my keyboard having done nothing. It is lunch time, so perhaps I will eat again.

I made myself a hot lunch since it looks like I will be going to work for that hour long webinar. Tomato soup and a quesadilla with chicken, cheddar and roasted red pepper strips - sure was good! The Macs-beast is almost beside himself that I didn't share.
Going to go upstairs and work in the playroom on clean up.

Re: Make yourself happy Thursday
Cold, windy & rainy here. Glad I ran errands yesterday so that I can stay in today. Towels are washing, & Christmas decoration boxes have been hauled up to the attic. I'm counting that as exercise
! All that is left now is to undecorate the tree, & take the wreath off the front door. I need to make a winter wreath of some kind. All I have to put up is a floral wreath but it is not spring yet even though with the recent low temps it sure has felt like it.
Ddog wants to go for a run in the yard & is following me everywhere, hoping that I'll get the hint
. I have no desire to add "clean muddy dog" to my to do list so she is going to be disappointed today.
Glad so many enjoyed the automatic cow milking clip the other day. I still remember how my jaw dropped when I first watched it. Such a huge difference from (not so long ago) hand milking an entire herd twice a day!
Great quote for today, Twins. So true!
Hi MT. Hope your dh tests all come back AOK.
Please send your snowstorm my way after you are done with it, Indi!
Way to go to your dh & ds, Bittersweet! Have a good day at work.
Hi Harriet. Wow, that is a lot of vehicle shuffling for one day!
Hi Elizabeth. Your post took me back to the first time I had Chicken Fried Steak, when I was visiting dsis in Texas years ago. Yum! I haven't made that in ages, but now I think I'm going to write it on my menu plan!
Sorry your eye is acting up again, Kathryn. Hope it feels better soon, & that the ice storm doesn't do any damage to your property.
Waving ~~~ back to Nancy. Only 19 degrees? Brrrrrr ...
Hope you feel better soon, Lilac, & that you don't catch anything at the doctor's office. You are so sweet to help out by taking dgd to her appointment.
I'm off to put the towels in the dryer, have lunch, & start working on the tree -- not necessarily in that order
.
Enjoy your day, everyone!

Re: Make yourself happy Thursday
Dove, if you figure out a wreath, tell us about it. My regular one looks small and old now that the Christmas one has been put away and it's been brought out. I have another but was toying with throwing it away since it, too, is old and difficult to clean. My best idea right now is to try to hand clean it while watching a tv program or something this evening and try it again. But if I find one in a store that lets me start from scratch I may grab it.
Twins Mom, we have to deal with people food issues for pets, too. Orphan Cat has dramatically shown us that she wants big pieces of meat again - really progress for her health, I suppose, but she is insistent and HRH a sucker for her, so she's getting table scraps now. And Sammie has turned against the few purchased dog treats she used to like, so treats for her turn out to be people-food much too often.
Kathryn, I sure hope your eye gets better soon.
Get well soon, Lilac's family!
Glad the report from Mr. Sunny is so good.
((Nancy)) so frustrating for you never knowing what number will surprise you. What is mp?
That's great that you are so pleased with how they left the house, Elizabeth.
HRH said to me (can you believe this), "There's no way you'll see the bottoms of those laundry baskets."
Excuse me? Are you talkin' to ME?
So now a new light has been shed upon the Mt.
So we are going to see the bottoms of all the laundry baskets, hopefully all at the same time, very soon. I admitted to myself (in conversation with him) that some of what is covering the bottom of the baskets is not cloth so much as indecision.
1) clothes that are best dry-cleaned but that don't fit right now anyway, so I postpone ;
2) cotton clothes on the verge of the decision to cut up for quilt fabric, so I postpone until I have a full load of them (what?);
3) complicated multi-part coat of dd's that I think she's outgrown while I tried to figure out how to wash it;
4) socks with beading (why would anyone buy socks with beading? why would anyone WANT socks with beading?).

Re: Make yourself happy Thursday
Hi all! I got home from moms group about 30 minutes ago and have had some lunch. I met w/ dfriend/prayer partner after the meeting, so that kept me at the church a little longer, plus I stopped by Trader Joe's en route home b/c I brought a block of cheddar to the meeting for cheese and crackers and the whole block was eaten. I need to have cheddar on hand b/c kids like to make cheese paninis for afternoon snacks. Anyhow, dfriend the secretary and I took on providing the snacks for the women this morning, so I contributed cheese and crackers, grapes, clementines, and fruit juice. I stopped by the groc. store en route to the church to pick up the juice. SO, with getting the snacks ready first thing this morning, this has been a nonstop day for me so far - and no cleaning done. Well, I did get a break while eating lunch and now while posting. . .
Anyhow, later today, I need to:
-put more New Year's cards in the mail
-pick up dd13 from synchro. swimming practice at 4:10
-go JOG b/c I decided not to do that yesterday; in the end, I wasn't sure I could go jogging and also get dinner on the table in time to allow for dd13 and dd16 to get to youth group on time.
-dfriend is coming over for dinner, the only other one from our Thursday dinner crew who will be here, including dh who will be going to a work-related dinner instead.
-book club meeting tonight at 8 pm; I said I would go late so I could host the Thursday crew if needed. It works out; the Thursday crew are close comfortable friends.
-somehow, between all this, it would be nice to do a little house straightening. Our contractor will be here tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. to finalize plans for the bathroom remodeling project. Unfortunately, I have another earlier scheduled meeting (moms group teaching team) at 9 a.m. so I'll miss meeting with him, but I trust dh, and I should be able to go over the plans with dh later. We might also share the plans with dd13 who, over the last 2 years, has been expressing some interest in becoming an architect when she grows up. (Our contractor is an architect by schooling.) Of course that can change as she is still so young.
I'm glad to see that Indiana is feeling better!! The storm must be going south of us; we're predicted to only get 1-2 inches.
I missed the automatic cow milking clip. I may go back and look it up. But now, I need to finish the a.m. routine that was not finished b/c I did dd13's school run, prepped snacks, and ran out the door late at 8:15.

Re: Make yourself happy Thursday
Priced flights to Atlanta in May. I'd prefer to pay more and fly Air Canada. We'll see what the minister says. She often flies out of Syracuse, a 4 hour drive from here but that means 8 hours of additional travel time, parking, mileage, bridge toll and other inconvenience in order to save $160 each. That's significant money but also significant inconvenience but we don't have to fly together so we might split up for the travel component.
My minister is booking our registrations at the preaching conference today and already booked the hotel last October.
