Elizabeth You are right that my situation didn't include kids. That's one of the blessings in my life.
I returned the videos and picked up the mail.
I'm feeling less well as the day goes on so am now wondering if I'm coming down with something. Dh was unwell on Tuesday so I might be getting whatever he had.
I did get a few more papers dealt with and there is a growing amount of table top visible. Of course, that is an ebb and flow, as I unstack things to work on them, the table top will disappear again.
My dinner is planned so I must remember to pop it in the toaster oven since it takes about 50 minutes to cook. But first, I'll watch an episode of the Mary Tyler Moore show. That's what I've put into my video player for me to work to.

Re: Focus Friday
Elizabeth when dson was going through that with his ex. I told him to get Sunday's for church and that seemed to be a good trade of he though even if it was so they could sleep in, he was in collage at the time.
I did get dressed turns out jeans are much warmer than my p.j.s were even for inside the house. Then I felt better and I was feeling good enough by mid morning to do the driveway shoveling off this morning; then after lunch got to the patio and I swept off the deck too.
H. cut the store bought 12" sub. in to four pieces so we had 3" of that with soup and an orange for lunch today. He was achey today so I told him it would be good if he did that food prep. so I did not breath my germs on it.
We've been enjoying watching the squirrels on the deck eating apple cores and the birds pecking at the crushed cereal I put out for them.
Our neighbors have all been in and out and about today, roads are just a bit slushy here now.
The sun even came out for a while, weather will be up in the forties next week so glad to see that forecast of a warming trend!
I started a crocheting on a puppet this one will be yellow and brown striped.

Dd2 called to tell me that karma has an usual way of dealing with her cheating ex. Dgd15 had lunch with him today. He told her that him and his wife have quit drinking soda. Dgd15 said he told her this as he is downing a large soda and 3 free refills. Also, his wife told him if he loses 15 lbs. he can get a rifle and grow a mustache. Dd2 and I just can't believe that the guy she had 3 kids with would put up with this. He is definitely getting paid back, but I guess that's the price he wants to pay for having a younger wife.

Re: Focus Friday
Just wanting to check in with a TaDa extra. Continued in bathrooms, went over my 15 minutes today but it's not carved in stone. Our shower curtain is washed and rehung and I cleaned our bath/shower surround. I cleaned and switched the two hangars (for shampoo, etc) of the two surrounds. Now HRH and I have more space for shampoos and soaps without perching anything on the corner ledges and causing water rings.
Dsecondmil called frantic asking me to watch Dr. Oz at that moment for her and try to help her remember what was said, lol. I think it is now recorded on our tv - not sure, will check later. I was able to watch the first 20 mins but had to go on the school run. It was very interesting - had segments on diabetes and also info on dementia, diet recommendations.
Dove, I completely agree with you about cards. Forgiving, understandable, pleasant to work with.
I hope you feel better, Nancy.
Hope Kathryn feels better.
Indiana, that's committee work for ya. Hope you can keep your sanity with it all. My take on heat lamps is that they will dry food out - better that speed is increased, as you said.

MT, that is wonderful news to hear of your house and lot sale. It looked so appealing on your blog. Someone will enjoy all the work you and your dh put in it, for years to come. One of those win/win situations.

Re: Focus Friday
Small amounts of progress to report.
More table is visible.
Bills are paid, credit card statement is reconciled and the chits pulled and shredded.
I've gone through last year's annual report and taken out all the submissions so I can insert this year's submissions. I'm thinking I'm missing a lot, though, when I look at the number of spots to full. So I've printed off a table of contents and will go over that.
I had dinner and cleaned up the kitchen.
I've planned my lunch for tomorrow. Dinner will be out with ds.
I've also run one load of laundry. Time to put it in the dryer and start a second load. When that is done and hung up to dry, I'll go to bed.

Re: Focus Friday
Yikes! Just as we were sitting down to eat, I get a call from the credit card fraud service on my new credit card number, that I haven't activated. Somehow I ate, while not tasting a bite. I didn't call that number back. Instead I called the main number on my bill. It turns out it was more charges to the last number but they transferred to the new number, when the old was cancelled. She activated the new card and told me to check the bill over carefully and call if any charges are fraudulent. How do these creeps get by with this? Just recently dsoninlaw and a dsisinlaw have had the same problem. We had it happen about 18 months ago and hoped it would not happen again. Grrr..........
