Thank you, Harriet. This is our 41st anniversary. The year we were married was my paternal grandparents 40th anniversary and my dm had a surprise party for them. They loved every minute of it. It just seems so odd that I have now been married a year more than they had, at that time. It's hard to believe that many years have flown past, when I can remember that day like it was yesterday.

Yesterday morning I went with dd2 and 4 of the kids, to the 2 boys 1st basketball games. We have had an outbreak of measles in our area. Dgd9+ months won't be immunized for them until she is 1. Dd1 and I have made it our mission to watch her during this time, so that hopefully she can avoid getting the measles. So dd1 watched her yesterday. After lunch I went with dd1 to look at carpet. They are planning to recarpet the main floor, plus put new laminate in the kitchen and dining area. Wow, I had not looked at carpet prices in 13 years. When I talked about carpet with the carpet cleaner on Friday, he said to make sure it has nylon in it and the more the better. He then added that it can get pretty pricey, but it lasts longer and the stains don't reappear. Also, with nylon in it, you can move your furniture and the dents will go away. He said so much carpet is made with plastic now and once you sit a piece of furniture somewhere, that dent is permanent. That is exactly what is going on with this carpet.

Dh managed to make it through the day at work on Friday. He said a lot of guys at work have the same crud. He was feeling better yesterday, but I insisted that he just keep resting so that maybe he could turn the corner without a relapse.

Yesterday afternoon I went to the other house and cleaned the oven. Last night after we ate, I went back over and deep cleaned my bathroom. I still need to clean the woodwork, lower cabinets and mop the floor. I am putting a roast in the crockpot and plan to spend a lot time there today cleaning.

So guess I better get started.

Today Is grandson/9 birthday party! So we will head to dd/39s today. His actual birthday was yessterday! I have been up since 4am with dh snoring loudly in my ear!! I have watched two quilt lessons on computer one where you cut a nine patch apart to look different with corner stones and sashing! Have fabric to do this but will wait until I get more on both dd's quilts done!!!
Need to pick up and "spiffy" up some! So heading to kitchen first!!

We're off to church, EARLY -- b/c dh has to practice w/bluegrass band. 5th Sunday song service.
While he practices, I have to make an emergency run to Wmart for dfil's caregivers -- diapers, wipes, gloves.
Friday, caregiver said they had plenty of everything. Today -- crisis!
Weekend caregivers ALWAYS seem to have crises. It drives dh crazy.

After all that work yesterday to see how I could record my friend's church webcast of his service and racing home from church so I'd have almost the whole hour to mess with the system and their webmaster let the domain name expire so they are offline!

No testing for me today.

I have to have a quick lunch and then head over to the second church to do a presentation to their board.

Friday was errand day with groceries, so our cupboards are well stocked again.
Yesterday I headed west to help my oldest sister move some boxes. It was a beautiful drive on a sunny day.

Last night we drove north to have chili supper with one of DH's sisters. Just a small group - only 7 including DMIL. Good thing it wasn't any more people talking, since DMIL didn't bring her hearing aids.

Today I want to stop by a sale at a fabric store. I certainly don't need any fabric, but the store is locally owned and they advertise in my sewing group's newsletter, so I feel like I need to at least go and say hello. Everything in the store is on sale for 4 hours, surely I can find something.

Actually, now that I think of it, I wonder if she still has any Christmas fabric on her clearance table. I saw a blog with a pretty folded star ornament made from fabric strips; I remember making the exact same star shapes from paper. It isn't hard to find projects for fat quarters of Christmas print cotton fabric.

Bittersweet Our last TSO concert was $60 each (plus event charge.) That was for second balcony in an arena, but a lot less than what you are seeing. I'm not sure I'd go to a non-Christmas concert. Their other music is very dark - too dark for me. Do a bit of you-tube searching or borrow the Beethoven CD from someone and see if you are still interested.

Quiet morning here - was up at seven with ddogs and then napped another couple of hours. Have read the paper and surfed a bit. DH and I have an "appointment" to look at the house info and lay out our questions and make some decisions at 1:30. Will try to do a few routines meanwhile...

-clear kitchen counters
-what's for dinner?
-straighten family room
-put away a large basket of clean laundry
-bring down dirty laundry

Getting ready to head to the other house. Dh left a few minutes ago. He didn't look well at all. He said he is feeling nauseated. With his immune system compromised, he is probably getting the stomach bug that I had last week. He never gets anything like that. I tried to get him to stay home but he said he wouldn't do anything he didn't feel like doing. His plan is to paint the large circles around where the ceiling fans were. That area is yellowed.

Guess I better head that way.

We had a very nice morning at church, meaningful music.

dd13 very much enjoyed the happy conversation with my-age friends, both men and women, afterward in a circle, without nagging to go. I don't think she realized we were so witty! Most adult conversation with dd is the usual amazement at her growth and asking her height/age now. But one friend complimented dd on seeing her name in the paper for A honor roll, which brought dd into the conversation but still with a little embarrassment. Immediately one of the men said he thought he'd seen her name for speeding! So with everyone laughing and fussing at HIM, she felt comfortable to stay and listen to the joking commiseration of us oldies but goodies. There is some kindness in silly jokes, I think - inclusiveness.

Was able to chat with our minister about my reservations to view the museum collection of history of the Bible.
