More, More, More Monday

Well, I have made my list for the night. I need to put away some laundry, eat, put away a gift, design and sew Bug-A-Boo feet and work on the hands, get tea for work, exercise, and put my passport in my purse. I wish someone would call me to eat, but that is not going to happen and I need to fend for myself. I also need to do all the evening routine stuff - cat care, shower, and the like. I already just want to go to sleep, but that is not a good use of time. I resorted to the list because it worked so well Sunday. See everyone tomorrow!

Dee -- finally -- it sounds like you are beginning to get a few answers to the whole rx situation... Hope you get a knowledgeable person when you call back.
Provoking dgd... hmmm... well, it doesn't sound like that would be very difficult... but it does sound interesting. I'll be waiting to hear how tomorrow's visit turns out.
Hope dsil gets some good meds and feels better soon, too!

OH! Church office! That reminds me! I need to print out minutes from last meeting and get the preacher a signed copy!

Just a normal Monday here. Dh has gone to do his eldercare run... we've been to Wmart & drug store.
I'll have to go back to drug store tomorrow, after picking up rx @ doctor's office -- something that can't be sent by phone/etc, must be picked up in person...
Will also have to go to bank tomorrow. Pay day!

Need to do some laundry... should have vacuumed while dh was gone. OTOH... Maybe I will just consider the errands of the day, on top of the school day misc, to be enough productive activity for me.

H. did a run to take tax info. to bookkeepers for the farm stuff, he called to let me know he was back in town before dark and was going to get the car oil changed, he stopped by the dr. for a bp check and was very happy with numbers in the normal range.

Last load of laundry is in the washer now.
I cleaned the microwave and dusted.
Got the last library book read as well.
I've done my walking.

Dee's comment about water filter made me think of something.

Kathryn and others who might fly to distant, perhaps remote, places: is an in-the-bottle water filter of use to you? I have had this question forming ever since an announcement in church yesterday that we will send a mission group to Mexico in the summer of 2013. I won't be one going, of course, but thinking of how I could contribute to help them. I remember all the admonishments of "don't drink the water", which became almost a running joke in many sitcoms and movies years ago. I would think that a mission group would be even more susceptible, if that proved true, than a tourist group.

Yesterday at 5:30 p.m. dd13 and I decided to change up plans and have her wash her hair then, and we'd go out on Errand Day after her school bell today. This way, we got an extra hour of daylight and she had a chance at shoe and dress shopping, but we still didn't get back until well after dark. After errands, we stopped at Kohl's and she was on a roller-coaster ride finding Converse that she wanted, then they wouldn't have her size, then finding Converse that she wanted, then they wouldn't have her size, etc. Sigh. Couldn't have the red ones, couldn't have the grey-pink ones on sale. But they did have the ones they call "navy", which I would call a "denim/Wedgewood" blue. They were still available because they weren't on sale! Sigh!

And the vital, important, pivotal purchase ... a black skirt. TaDa. Instant addition of about 5 potential church outfits with one classic piece.

She also found a Minnie Mouse watch on sale, and I got a cushion for the rocking chair in the LR to help us with more comfortable seating for more people when my ddad decides to take up the whole couch.

I've looked at a Brita filter for sports bottles for when I'm traveling in North America and Europe (where water is potable but not always to my taste.) But never bothered since bottled water is so cheap most places.

For non-potable regions, I can afford and have at my disposal, bottled water so that's what I use. The hotel in India (a business class one) provided bottled water by the kitchen sink and another bottle by the bathroom sink as a reminder we weren't to drink the water. When I'd shower, the water in the tub was tea colored and I really didn't think I was that dirty so I was glad to have bottle water.

On the cruise, we can drink the water in the bathroom and they have a system for carbonating it (for sparkling water) but there is also bottled water at every turn and we are handed bottles as we leave the ship in each port (except where prohibited by law, such as Alaska - there the bottled water was at the bottom of the gangplank for us.)

If I was going into a region without the benefits of full luxury escort, I'd be taking all kinds of water purification with me.

Dinner is done. I picked up the fixings for the sandwiches while dh picked up his dinner. My dinner was in the oven at home and ready the moment we walked in the door.

Tomorrow night's dinner has been moved to my house so the minister won't have to drive out here if the storm predicted comes.

I'm looking for a devotion to read for tomorrow and then I'm heading off to bed.

Harriet ~ Congratulations on the successful shopping trip. Yes, I'm counting DD's shoes because at least you found some that fit!

I had to abandon sewing and laundry plans for this morning to take care of Emails. Also researched a tax form that I thought I might have to send in for the sewing group, and discovered (hidden in some fine print) that I do not have to send it.

Drove to The Big City for dentist appointment (cleaning & xrays), then stopped for a late lunch. I went to a particular restaurant because I wanted a specific soup. After I paid and got my beverage, then they called me up to the counter and said they had sold out of the soup so I had to choose something different. Oh well, I tried for the healthy veggie and ended up with very-tasty-but-not-as-healthy broccoli cheese.

Stopped at Goodwill on the way home and found a few things. 1 of the treasures is a made-in-Hawaii man's Hawaiian shirt, bright red with white flowers. I bought it for the fabric, nice thick 100% cotton. I jokingly asked DH if he wanted to wear it a few times before I cut it up, and he said maybe. Normally his work clothes are pretty conservative, dark pants and dark knit shirt with a collar, and at home he adds a sweatshirt. I'm not sure if he was serious or kidding, so I guess I'd better wash it and wait. We are having an unusually warm spell this week, he might want to wear it to work for a joke.

More, More, More CCI

Dailies done with time to spif the small appliances and clean the vacuum. Reds washing all the way to put away.

Weekly - LR/DR - swiffered under low furniture (ah, that's where dgs's toys went) vacuumed floors, vacuumed upholstered furniture and under cushions, pulled out some tables and cleaned baseboards, replaced furnace filters and vacuumed interior (also hallway one), replaced lightbulbs (also hallway), found ddad's lost bedroom slippers under end table.

Declutter - 15 minutes at my desk and up the staircase to start my upstairs week (really laundry week but my laundry area's so small I'll have extra time).

Focus - 15 minutes in our closet to start closet week.

Thoughts for today - I have cleaned or changed (depending upon requirements) every FILTER in the house today. 3 different furnace filters, vacuum cleaner filter, air cleaner filter and made a card to show exactly when/what. These furnace filters say they will last up to 90 days, but HRH says he'd feel more comfortable at 60 days, especially for my ddad's sake. So I'm going to refile the card for April 1 and make sure I do it all again. The vacuum cleaner won't wait that long, of course, but the air cleaner will go on the furnace filter schedule and I'll always know where I am with those 4. Also filing for April 1 - pet flea repellent, first 2012 application.

I'm picturing MT at her RV with circus nearby, everything but the elephant, right! Wow, Harriet, that was a lot of work you did.

What a day. It took about 6 hours to do what I usually do in 3 every month. Sheesh. Had to set up new account to pay my payroll taxes because we switched banks. That wasn't as easy as it sounds. Then I put the taxes in wrong because I forgot one employee. I don't know where my brain is these days. I've been making the dumbest mistakes. Well, at least I find them and fix things before too long.

Ran out to 3 banks, got lots done there, with DH on the phone with me "where's the car I need to go somewhere" several times... and tellers were all slow today... anyway that's done for the month now.

I got home very tired from stress. Managed to get a couple small chickens baked, enough for leftovers for a few days. Helia, I kwym about the food not lasting very long. DD2 is always saying that, she is feeding 5 including 3 growing boys! There was a big kitchen cleanup and I got that done.

All-in-all it was a stressful day. I hope tomorrow is easier.

Still haven't found/written a devotion for the meeting tomorrow night. Maybe God will whisper it in my ear overnight. God's definitely pushing me towards something two readings I picked were based on the same verse and my regular devotion for tomorrow is a few verses before, all on the same theme (which is tying in with music swirling in my head because it will be sung at the funeral on Wednesday.) My former minister always chose something from the lectionary for the upcoming Sunday and, dang it all, the verses in the devotion for tomorrow will also be read on Sunday. Must be a sign.

Dh is being patient with me. Really patient. I never got back up stairs to strip and remake the bed today. I can't believe it, I seldom come down for breakfast without having made the bed and on Monday's that means stripping and remaking with clean sheets. But I was distracted by emails this morning and got downstairs late. This whole day needs a redo but I don't get one since tomorrow is volunteering and meeting and then the funeral the next day.

Hi everyone. Well I've read through posts earlier today, but probably forgotten some of it already. We had a quiet day Saturday. Sunday dfam#2 came to visit. Ddil brought dinner so we didn't have to cook, but I heated a vegetable to go with her dish, penne pasta with chicken with marinara sauce. She brought garlic bread to go with and we had ice cream for dessert.

Dee, maybe finally you are getting to the root of the problem with Medco. Hope so!! Hope dsil feels better, too.

I hope others who have been ill will start feeling better.
