Lucylee: You aren't crazy and you didn't say anything out of line.
Ok, I just lost tomorrow to the church. The secretary's daughter is too sick to bring into the office (or go to school for that matter.) Plus I'm doing the children's story so I worked on that tonight. The minister told me roughly where she wanted me to go with it, but as usual, although I'm using the materials she suggested, I'm striking out on my own because I see a completely different lesson in the material than she did.
I know the printer is out of toner because that happened today. I just hope there is another container in the cupboard. I know the drum is also about to die and there's another drum for it but I'm not sure about toner.
Dh just got back from visiting his friend. I have laundry on so won't go to bed until it gets into the dryer.

Re: Wednesday PWYC
You are very right, Lucylee!
I'm just too wrapped up in myself right now to pay much attention to others.
I'm falling very far behind on getting the house in shape to leave. I'm going to be not touching paperwork for 5 weeks so all the bills, banking, etc. has to be done before I leave and yet I'm getting distracted with church stuff. Sigh...... At least I cancelled my volunteering in the city next week.
This evening I got 100 messages cleared out of my in-box and managed to update the sales chits into Quicken. Not a lot of progress but it is some.
I may not be checking in here in the morning because I will be working over at the church so have to barrel out of here by 9:30 at the latest (I know that at isn't really early, but it is to me.)

Re: Wednesday PWYC
This morning I went to the other house. I loaded up all the odds and ends that had ended up in the kitchen and dining rooms. Brought them home, unloaded them and by then the little ones were here. DD2 had made dgd2 a sack lunch to eat, while she was at the school eating with dgs6. Dgd2 thought the sack lunch was wonderful. I ate my lunch then, also. When dd2 came back, she needed to get gas and milk, so I rode along with her. After that, they headed home and I headed to the other house. I am so close to be done on the upstairs. I had planned to go back after I ate tonight, but I was just too tired.
You aren't going to believe what happened. After dd2 dropped me off and before I headed to the other house, I checked my messages. There was a message from my hairdresser. She had me down for an appt at noon.
Dd2 has a dr. appt on the 7th and wanted me to watch the girls. I looked at my appt card and told her I could but that I have a hair appt at noon and her appt was at 10. Well after I heard the message I looked at the card again. The 1 looked like a 7, except it had st next to it. You can imagine how
I was after last months fiasco with my hair appt. I called her and told her that I thought it was the 7th instead of the 1st. She was real nice and offered to cut it tomorrow. I agreed, even though it seems like it hasn't grown much this time. So I will make my next appt for 4 1/2 weeks and get back on track. I really hate to take the hour I will need to get it done.
It is suppose to rain and/or snow tomorrow night into Friday. I am planning to buy groceries in the morning. After the hair appt. I will hopefully finish the upstairs at the other house. I would really, REALLY like to stay home on Friday and clean this house.
I bought 2 chairs off ebay tonight. They match the 4 that I have. I had planned to wait until I could buy the same style but the captains chair model. Then I started thinking that maybe I didn't want the chairs with the arms afterall. These were listed by the dealer that I have bought several items from. Between that and the fact that he had raised his prices $25.00 each. Another dealer had the same chairs $100.00 higher, each. I decided that I better get them before the prices start climbing any higher. I had a hard time hitting that submit button, when I realized with shipping, I will be paying more for these 2 chairs that I did the table, 4 chairs and the hutch 26 years ago. Now I need to get a larger tablecloth, so that I will be ready to put the other leaf in, when they get here. This is the first time that I have had room to use both leaves. In fact one of them has never been used. We had bought this furniture from dhs daunts estate.
Guess I will quit babbling and think about heading to bed.

(((Lilac))) Can't help but smile at the hairdresser snafu. These things happen, don't they? And it is VERY understandable how a 7 could look like a 1. Goodness... sometimes reading my students' handwriting is like deciphering code!
I guess we would be in for sticker shock if we ever started redecorating/repairing things around here, too. Our house (and just about all our furniture) is 26 years old, too!
I understand, Kathryn... I feel bad b/c I know sometimes I am waaay waaay too wrapped up in myself -- but I didn't think you were acting like you were!
I can relate to what you're saying re: getting everything DONE before your trip. That's how dmom was before her surgery, and the idea of that paperwork piling up bothered her about as much as her physical troubles.
Speaking of dmom... I'm also feeling like my dparents are mad/disappointed in me tonight. I didn't even tell ddad that we were going out of town tomorrow, but I did tell dmom -- I hate to be "out of pocket" and not even let them know where we are. But I always feel like they think if I can take off work to "gallivant" around w/dh-ds-ddil... then why am I not spending more time with them??? I was out there last Wednesday, and I talk to them at least every two or three days... but I just get overwhelmed w/trying to do all that dh expects of me, helping HIM w/his parents... and then it's 7:00 pm before we've eaten supper... and I know my dparents don't really WANT my company (or anyone else's) by that time of night.
OTOH... I am sooo looking forward to our trip tomorrow.
I must get back to work. Difficult typing b/c it involves a lot of copy/paste/drag/etc... and my mouse is just NOT cooperating. It sorta "slips" -- won't hold the word/phrase, etc... Very aggravating.

Ah, Lucylee, I just love reading your posts. Makes me realize I'm not the only one with multiple things going on all the time. You really do have a lot on your plate all the time. You should be proud of all you do accomplish. How is your DMom coming with all her paperwork?
Kathryn, it's too bad you aren't going to Virginia. The blueridge is so beautiful up there. I've been all up and down it several times visiting relatives nearby. We took it all the way back from Natural Bridge to Staunton one time. Very pretty.
I took DH out to get his truck but on the way we ran errands. Returns to H-D, a search for gas can cap at 3 places. They've changed regulations, no longer make ones that fit any of our cans. Hunted recharge a/c gas for the car and discovered they've gone up to about $14.00 a can from about $6, so after looking all over, we brought 1 can home and DH found a case on ebay for $4.42/can. We are charging our Explorer about once a month, because it's too old to put all the money into new ac condenser.
So we were both a little short-tempered running around in the heat with no a/c. I was glad to get home. I sewed all evening. It really is way past time for bed...

Re: Wednesday PWYC
What are you doing up so late, Harmony? I'm up because of two glasses of caffeinated ice tea with dinner tonight and all the stress of the day.
I have to remember to comment on posts - I comment in my head as I read them (sometimes even out loud
) but then post about me, me, me and I, I, I.
I cheer for the triumphs, shed a tear at the sorrows and mostly wish you all lived just around the block so I could drop in for coffee (altho, I don't even drink coffee) Maybe a Diet Caffeine Free Dr. Pepper??
So more about my day. Two people took over my duties as Sec/Treas. One is very nice and cooperative - the other is "a little bit better than anyone else". Of course, she is the one who cannot go to the bank tomorrow to sign the cards to get the account transferred. I DO NOT want to make another 150 mile round trip just to do that. So I'm going to see if I have to be there. If I do - I will be there - but if not - I'm outta here.
I can't wait to get back in our house - I'm ready to cut all ties here.
Well, since I can't sleep - I'm going to work on the blog I will post on Sunday. If I write a bit every day - I don't forget what we did.
Niters all. I'm sure you are all sleeping.

Re: Wednesday PWYC
Okay... okay... I'll quit worrying. I know (like MT said just now) I haven't been posting to all of you lately, either. I really do intend to... I'm full of good intentions... but then I get in late in the evening and I'm already on page 4 and I just can't keep up!
But I do READ everything, and you are ALL in my thoughts sooo often!
We don't drink coffee either, MT. Diet Dr. Pepper would be just perfect for me! ESPECIALLY if it is Diet Cherry Dr. Pepper!
150 mile round trip to sign bank cards??? Oh my. I definitely hope you don't have to make that trip.
I've still got to take those church minutes w/my signature to the bank. *sigh* It's maybe a 5 mile round trip for me, LOL.
I have finished typing everything I can think of for the school paper! Oh. My. Goodness. And why am I doing this instead of some of those lovely students who are earning credits for being a part of this staff, you might ask... well... b/c I cannot seem to delegate. Some of this stuff is just too tedious and I'd rather DO it than to proofread & correct it after they do it.
They DO get most of the stuff done. It's just basketball box scores that drive me crazy this time of year. Half the coaches don't complete their books, so I have to add up the scoring... and I'm OCD about this b/c of ds's influence during the 5 years he was my sports reporter. He took over sports when he was in 8th grade -- I don't accept staff members till they're in 10th grade, but with a 90% female staff, I was really short-handed in the sports department, and it was ds's hobby. So I still try to do it to his standards, but I am falling far from the mark, I can promise you that!
Harmony -- I don't know how dmom is doing... they'd tell you they never see me, you know!
* sigh * Actually, as far as paying everything, posting stuff, etc... I think she is doing okay. Last week she needed me to help with filing. Her system drives ddad crazy -- probably b/c he has no patience to keep it all straight -- there's nothing wrong with her system. She has an accounting degree, after all; I'm sure she knows what she's doing. She does seem a little OCD about some of this stuff though, even to my way of thinking. Anyway. I will make an extreme effort to visit them Saturday.
Virginia IS beautiful. We went through there many years ago... back when ds was little.
No AC in Florida, with the "heat wave" we've been experiencing... I guess tempers WERE short by the time y'all finished all that running around, Harmony. Hope tomorrow goes better.
I've GOT to get in bed.
My fingers are EXHAUSTED.
If I don't speak to anyone tomorrow, it's not b/c I'm ignoring you!
Like I said, we're going to be gallivanting with ds. If I don't see you tomorrow, I'll be back Friday!
