Re: Gallivanting Thursday
Back home from lunch with dh.
The boys who use the school bus stop on my property and rolled a snow ball until it was about 2.5' diameter along the ditch. It is now about 200' from where they started but they stopped because they were coming up to our driveway culvert. There was another smaller 'head' sized ball beside the big one. So I grabbed some branches from the back yard and went out to roll a medium size one. It isn't 'packing' snow today so that didn't work but I did put the smaller one on top of the big one, added a face, arms, hair and a zipper for his jacket (all made from branches) so my snowman will be waiting for the boys when they get home from school.
That was enough whimsy for me, so I came inside and put away the groceries we picked up and put the newspaper into the recycle bin (we read it at lunch.)
Now to get to work on paperwork.

Re: Gallivanting Thursday
One good thing about morning meetings: they have a definite ending time! We found out quickly that principal has to let us go when homeroom starts, you know... but if we start a meeting at 3:00 pm, we could, theoretically, stay all night, LOL!
DH & I are trying to use the same positive thinking re: early church service.
I had a complete panic almost meltdown re: Publisher and the fact that I couldn't get my clip art to show up. Tried laptop... finally sent for our building computer tech... as soon as she started looking at the screen, I realized... OH. MY. GOODNESS. We don't open that clip art disk by clicking on IT... we click on "Insert Clip Art" from the PUBLISHER file. Well duh. How totally stupid I felt. Can we say stressed out and sleep-deprived??? * sheesh *
Sher -- I've heard that it is great to use conditioner as a shaving gel. Don't guess it has much cleaning properties, though.
DH will get our taxes to CPA week after next, I think. He has to go near that office anyway on the 2nd Tues. of the month, b/c that's when ds plays at nursing home in next town. Otherwise, it's usually after closing time when we're over there. DH can't stand to let it wait. DS said he'd get his together the night before they go.
Hope you're doing okay, (((Indiana))).
(((LO)))
Hope Mr. Sunny feels much better!
(((Harmony))) definitely can relate to your comments re: family. Everybody's got one, right? (If we're lucky... but oh my... they can drive you crazy sometimes.)
Ditto helia's comment re: Nancy & the grandkids' activities. I am very inspired!
Have fun gallivanting w/dh, Kathryn! That was so sweet of you to help with the snowman!
Nancy, I can't do the math, but I would say 3.anything while doing two sports AND band is quite respectable! WTG, dgd!!!
Love that definition, bsweet... yep... that's exactly how my ddad views my life. * sigh *
I don't feel thirsty a lot, either. I try to keep a bottle of water on my desk, though, and I will drink it if it's there.
End of topic review... more waves to ALL... see y'all later!

Picturing Kathryn making that snowman! I'll bet those kids will be tickled.
We will be having some family come in to town for a wedding in a couple months. We just found out they called two other families to ask if they could stay there...and DH is their closest relative, with the most room, and has the most reason to visit with them. So what did we do now to annoy them this much... or is it from old imagined slights that they're doing this? Course, the joke's on them, other 2 families said No, can't stay with us, call ___ (my DH). Guess they've finally wised up and aren't getting into the middle of their antics any more. We'll not let on we know any of this...and just see what happens.
Moving on from all that....
I swept and cleaned my floors a bit. Thought I'd do that before I laid out the quilt to put it together.

Oh I didn't tell you I had a cardiac appointment yesterday.
All is good. I go back in a month unless I notice a change.

Re: Gallivanting Thursday
What I hate is assuming I've put shampoo into my palm while in the shower and realizing it was conditioner.
Then what do I do with it? If I let it rinse off my hand all at once (I've learned from experience) it makes the floor dangerously slippery! So I've had the experience of standing there, rather indisposed, staring at my palm and pondering. What I did last time was compress the conditioner bottle again and "vacuum" up as much as I could!
Lovely whimsy, Mr. Snowman.
Got a message phone call I have NEVER heard before from our police dept. A lady who needs regular medical attention and may be disoriented was missing and everyone in our area was being alerted. I looked up the address they gave and wrote down the description/clothes. When I walked outside I could hear helicopters circling in that direction. Praying for her, and her family - they must be sick at heart. Thank heaven the weather is not what it might be.

Re: Gallivanting Thursday
Just got an email saying my CD ROM order of a preaching resource has been shipped. I sent an email back asking "what order?" I ordered in September, they didn't ship, I have an email confirming the order was canceled and an invoice showing a credit. I've been waiting for my credit card to be credited (had to wait 3 billing cycles before my card company would intervene and we are just coming up on that now.)
So I sent back a copy of her email to me confirming the order was canceled and telling her that I no longer needed the resource since I had been buying the paper copies of the book. And besides, I was going to Africa and so would not be here when the order arrived in order to send it back to her.
Luckily that happened moments after she emailed me and apparently she was able to stop my order from being shipped because I just got word that my credit card will be credited.
I've collected all the emails into one folder on my computer in case I have to follow up on this more when I get back.

Re: Gallivanting Thursday
Paperwork progress:
1. Bills Paid
2. Bank accounts reconciled
3. Credit cards reconciled
4. Three Credit cards and other bills paid into the future (guesstimating the charges)
5. All chits pulled and shredded
That gets all the chits off my desk and I know where I stand for money as well (not that great but not too bad.)
I don't like to use online banking from public internet if at all possible and the ship is so slow that I worry the websites will time-out in the middle of a transaction, so that is why I need to prepay all my bills.
Dh is heading up pizza for his dinner. I'll just have a salad and a bowl of cereal (since I had so many calories at lunch.)

Re: Gallivanting Thursday
Was that a "silver alert", Harriet? So sad. Keeping your household in my thoughts.
See, Kathryn, another person not properly doing his/her job. My pet peeve.
Yesterday I headed off grass treatment guy as he was getting ready to begin...I reminded him we were not to be auto-reinrolled for this year, that manager put note as such on bottom of our contract when we signed for the 2 treatments last year. He wanted a confirmation number about that... and I keep every little sheet of paper around here, but didn't keep that one. Lady on company phone confirmed what I said....yep another person somewhere didn't do their job.
I wish I could get some energy. Ever since the day I was sick I've been so tired.

Re: Gallivanting Thursday
We are getting rain! I hope it just stays rain and doesn't start snowing. That is what happened to us Dec. 19 and it was such a mess.
Today the dentist office called to remind me of my appt. tomorrow. I told her that we had and moved and I had meant to call and change my address. They had
sent me an appt card which the PO chose not to deliver. She told me we could reschedule but I decided to just get it over with. The PO only delivers bills, our local paper, my hometown paper and forwarded magazines. I knew they didn't forward catalogs but I didn't know that all your junk mail and any other doesn't get forwarded. Who knew?
Dd2 and the 3 older kids had dental appt. this afternoon. I was going to be working at the other house and she was going to bring the 2 little ones over there. About an hour before their appts. I called her and the little ones were ready for naps. I told her I would just come out there. I knew I would get very little done with them at the house, so why bother. So once again, I didn't get the upstairs finished. I did go over and work afterwards. I washed the kitchen window, washed the curtains and put them up. Plus the microwave, dishwasher and stovetop, oven door and drawer have been detailed. Soooooooooooo close.
