Super Sunday

Post by OKay »

For football fans this is the yearly anticipated Super Bowl day!

For the rest of us :D it can be a Super Day in other ways.

Super Sunday here, even tho I won't see the game. Need to do a few things here at home, wedding at four p.m. and then drive dd back to K-town. Will probably be late getting back - if we get to leave by 5:30 that would get me back perhaps 9:30...

-clear kitchen counters
-reboot laundry
-breakfast
-straighten up family room
-meds/vitamins, me and dogs

Here it's going to be at 6:00 I understand, and that is a problem for my ddad who just can't stay up for the hours we'd anticipate he'd have to. Personally, I predict that he will lose interest anyway, but HRH is planning to suggest a long nap at some smart time and then trying to watch straight through. He says it is just unthinkable that my ddad wouldn't get to watch the SuperBowl and be able to enjoy conversation with visitors later.

Dd13 is happy about her clean room. Today she has an amazing amount of reading to do, because she decided to make each weekend day an exclusive one-task day and yesterday was all about her room and desk. So, lots of chapters are backed up in her reading. I hate doing that sort of thing because I am always waiting for the other shoe to drop as far as interruptions or fires to put out. That's why I'm a "round robin" or rotation person, I guess. A little bit of this, a little bit of that. I can't get her very interested in a timer. It wouldn't be so bad if it were contemporary reading, but it's mid-19th century.

I was on track to attend SS and church this morning, until.......LO had a coughing attack and lost breakfast. Although he is 95% over this long-lasting virus, the side effects are still lingering so we are home for another day.

I'm not a football fan, but enjoy all the excitement and energy surrounding the Super Bowl game. I'll probably watch the game here and there while doing other things.

OKay, so sorry LO's cough is lingering on and interfering with other plans.

I had some cheesecake for breakfast  and have some boiled eggs cooling, so I'll have "second breakfast" soon.

Need to:
-get dd up
-refill meds containers
-reboot laundry
-put away a basket of laundry upstairs
-straighten up Master bathroom

My bs was the best it's been in a while so I got to have cereal for breakfast and I'm finishing cocoa now. Waiting for the house to warm up a tad bit before getting in to the shower, then off to early church not as much fun with the frosty mornings these days here.

We are not in to football I do like watching half time show however. Some years I've done snacks for fun but not this year I got the stuff for some but did not get them made maybe I can do the crab dip later on today. Go teams!

Oh yes I wanted to say that we got a call some of the friends and co-workers hubby used to work with and we rode bikes with are meeting invited us sounds like fun. What do you call a group of has been bikers? Still here! LOL!

Yesterday got a book at the thrift store by a favorite author Jane Kirkpatrick historical fiction, some salad plates 10 c. ea. four plastic maelmac with a blue floral design and four clear ones to go with the Christmas ones! Yea for finds.

I got some pens but the green one in this set was bad so I'm going to have to return them first time I've done a return at wmart in 1 1/2 yrs. not bad! They still did not have any gloves like I want for gardening in.

It is going to be a SOUPER bowl here for us. I am making some beef veggie soup.

We have been invited to the clubhouse for a meal and watching the game - but DH doesn't want to go. He prefers his own chair and house so that he can yell at the players, refs, coaches in private. I think I might go up and see some of our friends that we missed being with as we didn't go to the desert the second week.

Now it is time to go prep some veggies and wash up the dishes - then I have to hit the shower so we make it to church on time.

Done again. DD did not get up. On Thursday or Friday she was asking if we could watch "Fiddler on the Roof" together and she's put it off all weekend now. We need to leave for wedding at 3 so she is running out of time.

I'd like to get out and take ddogs for a short walk.

Another round:
-make the bed
-purge magazines/catalogs upstairs
-"Honey do" list for dh - all easy jobs!
-27 pieces of paper gone
-water plants

What do you call a group of has been bikers?
Experienced? :)
Fun loving? :) :)

Sloppy Joe mixture is made and cooling. I think it taste better if made ahead and the ingredients have time to make friends with each other. :) Two kinds of dip made and are also in the refrig so flavors can intensify.

LO has finished with Kindle fire games (zoodles) and has moved onto his next activity....watching cartoonish music lessons on TV  1-2-3-4....1-2-3-4 rhythmic training in almost any form has to be on the good side.

Done with all except the two upstairs jobs - making bed and purging magazines/catalogs. I'll do those two, then brush teeth and change clothes to take ddogs for a walk. Temp is 53 and partly sunny but feels very nice out. I have some windows open for airing the house out a bit.
