For me, it means I'm finally taking off on this adventure!
But there are adventures in our own backyards year-round.
And many of us follow Flylady.
So how are you going to fly/FLY today?

Re: Finally Flying Friday
Well, I have done this for the 2nd time this week (I think - or the 2nd time in 2 weeks): posted a new topic at the same time someone else was doing it. Well, specifically, Kathryn. I have to be faster to beat her to the posting punch.
My title was Friday Freedom, and it wasn't that much different conceptually from Kathryn's: I guess this title could go a couple different ways. Friday leads us into the weekend, and maybe you will have some free time to do something you want to do over the next 3 days! Or, our plans and routines can free us to think about other things in our lives as we trust them to help us get the basics done and keep things going.
I do have a rough plan for the day: errands in the morning (WW, Target, library), 3 DPCs, some weeklies in the afternoon, pick up dd13 at 3 and take her to a haircut appt. at 3:30. Dd16's girls Bible study group is meeting at our home 4 - 5:15 today. I'll try to get in a jog today too, even though I went to the gym yesterday. I did the elliptical trainer, which was a good workout but not as tiring as jogging, which reflects more on me than the exercise equipment.
I've taken dd13 to schol and started laundry. Off to s2s and get the a.m. routing finished.

Re: Finally Flying Friday
Rough night but not due to the hotel, just nerves. Dh had a fit of stiffness so was up for that at one point. I finally gave up trying to sleep without my radio so found my spare battery and turned it on until I fell asleep.
We had two alarms set for the morning but heard people going through the garage door at 5:54 so that was enough to wake us gently. We made the 7 a.m. shuttle but my hair is a mess since I didn't get to straighten it. Oh well, I'll not be meeting these people again so it doesn't matter.
Our trip through immigration was complicated by the fact that dh's visa expired. So he was flagged for a detailed grilling. Thankfully we had proof we were only in transit and were obviously not going to be working on this trip. On the other hand, when he discovered it last night, he had to cancel his training at the end of March. They can come to us but he can't go to them. I'm guessing it will take four months to get it and a trip to Toronto for the interview. Sigh...
We are now in the lounge. I'm busy doing the last of the updates on my computer and downloading the next Economist for my mp3 player.

Re: Finally Flying Friday
The gecko has an English accent - Kelsey Grammer used to voice him but they wanted someone who was English. I don't remember the names of the actors, if I ever even knew them - there have been more than one, but all English. But in one of the commercials, the gecko's coworkers in a meeting start asking him where he's from and I think someone suggests England, someone Australia, and then the gecko says something like, "Funny you should ask, I'm actually from..." and the commercial is over. I remember when I first heard that I was finishing the sentence as "New Zealand" for him, but I didn't know exactly why.
I'm wondering if it was because Lynlee had mentioned her local lizards when I mentioned mine!
Lynlee, when you look at gecko photos it's hard to feel quite as warm toward them as we do to the animated version! I'm sure our Oklahoma villagers will know how good it is for you to be having a summer that is not as hot as in previous years - last year they were whalloped even more than the rest of the US.
It's so nice to hear that great minds are thinking alike in the village. I noticed the two popped up at the same minute.
Continuing to send encouragement to Indiana today. Happy Mr. Sunny is getting good reports.

Hmm..... I didn't login but I'm online. I must have forgotten to logout last time.
We don't watch TV, so we've missed out on the Geico commercials, though I know I've seen a couple older versions somewhere. I thought they were clever at the time.
I forgot to add a groc. run to my todo l**t. I may just skip the jog today; I'll have more time tomorrow anyway.
I am feeding ds' robotics team lunch on Sunday so I need to do some planning for that and add items to my groc. list. I'll be feeding 30 high school and University students.
I think those young people can eat a lot. I'll probably just do pizza for the main; they haven't had pizza for a while - I don't think.
I have s2s-ed and made the bed. I'm off to do teeth care and tidy the kitchen counters. I'll run the dw (didn't do it last night) when I return from my errands. After the fire a couple years ago, I try not to run it while I'm not home.

Re: Finally Flying Friday
Happiest of Birthday wishes to MT!! Have some fun today.
another long night with LO congested. Poor fella. I am soooo looking forward to him getting well! Last night I tried rubbing Mentholatum ointment on the bottom of his feet after he went to sleep (something DMom told me to try). It seemed to help him breathe easier after about 30 minutes.
TADA!!! I have 3 projects in my inbox but absolutely all the loose individual paperwork has been processed!! I'm actually looking forward to receiving mail today so I can keep this ZERO paperwork momentum going.

Re: Finally Flying Friday
Thank you all for the birthday wishes. The gang surprised me last night with a birthday cake and singing. It was fun.
Today, since the house is all clean, we are going exploring. I think we will head up the mountain to Prescott. I'm halfway going to look for a new church outfit as all I have is a pair of black slax and different tops.
It was nice waking up and knowing that I really didn't have to do anything today as the house looks good.
I kinda think I would rather work on the gardens but DH wants to take me out - so we will. I guess I'm just a homebody as I would kinda rather stay home.
See you late this afternoon.

Re: Finally Flying Friday
Happy Birthday to EN!
I'm fighting an ear thing so not moving very fast here today. Up earlier than our norm h. had to check on work not till noon-ish so he is chilling out got his stretching done so he is getting around better in the morning than I've seen for a while.
I like the spokes person for Allstate used to be in the Unit show as their leader. Farmers guy with all the Whacky examples are funny to watch. I think progressive is the one Flo the gal in white apron is in. I used to work in an insurance office. Ours is state farm they sing the gingle and the agent shows up like a genie! LOL! That does not happen IRL.
