I'm in Washington now, waiting for my lunch to come at Five Guys. I went once in Philly, but wasn't that impressed. On the other hand, I'm absolutely craving American food now so this is a great spot to be. On some of the blogs I read, there is a "who's best" competition between Five Guys and In-N-Out. You all know how nuts I am about In-N-Out so I thought I'd give the competition a try.

The Lufthansa lounge doesn't open until 1:30 so we'll be having a relaxing lunch. South African airways uses the Lufthansa lounge here. I wonder if they'll have pretzels?!

Good morning everyone. And happy birthday to Emptynester.

At payroll, I am still working on flowcharts. The current one is 20 pages and NOT DONE YET :o . This weekend I have DD9 the entire weekend. Tonight we have to get a start on making 200 empanadas for girl scout Thinking Day :o . Saturday we are either going to Zoom into Engineering or the zoo (probably the first) with her friend and his father. And finish empanadas. Sunday is church and Thinking Day. (In case you are wondering, Thinking Day is where the girls learn about girl scouts in other countries. DD's troop is doing Spain.) At some point I need to update Quicken. I really would like to skip the empanadas. I know DD will get tired of it about a quarter of the way through and guess who will have to finish them. They are like mini-pies. I HATE pies of all kinds. The filling texture just doesn't sit well with me.

OK, that Five Guys burger was definitely better than In-N-Out! It was a wonderful lunch. I also discovered I don't like cherry coke (I had a taste) but a small squirt added to a diet coke is a great drink.

We were going to get ice cream but it is frozen yoghurt which doesn't excite dh and I just realized we had ice cream for dessert so I'll pass for now (but if there's some in the lounge or on the plane, I'll have it.)

Dh just paid off his debt with me (sent the money via email.) He'd been trying to do so by the end of last month but had to wait for one more paycheque. He's relieved. I sent him a congratulations email with a customer satisfaction survey so the Bank of Mom can improve its service in the future.

I'm really missing the kids. He phoned yesterday morning and when I got off the phone, I cried and cried. Then he asked me to call again this morning so I did from the lounge (he wanted to know if he could email me the money before I got off North America since I'm nervous about banking online in Africa.)

Elizabeth's comment about still working on flow charts reminded me that I didn't get my data entry finished last night. It took all the time I had (and dh's help reading numbers to me) to get one of the three accounts done. On the bright side, there are only two accounts left to do but they'll have to wait until I get home unless I download all the statements this afternoon and try to do it on the computer. I don't do well reading back and forth between windows so I'm not sure that will work. On the other hand, when I get back there will be two more months to do so it would be nice to get things done before then.

Hello. Happy birthday MT! Trip out to sightsee sounds wonderful. Used to love to do that.

DH is chatting business call in my ear, I can't remember a thing. I did cuop though.

Anyway, went to bank this morning. Caught Sunny on phone and sat in bank parking lot, chatting away for too long!

Home to office work, proposal, faxes, I want to just go hide my head under a pillow. I am nervous as a cat with all this office work and stress. Couple phone calls today resulted in lost work, as did letter yesterday, and DH's travels and information he brought back. However, today's fax has a better chance of giving us something. rant rant rant...sorry gals.

I folded 2 loads of laundry, maybe 3. That part of the house looks better.

Sigh........I think I'll go hide somewhere in the house.

I'm back from lunch. Before lunch, XDH called to tell me DD9 is home sick. He has plans tonight so I need to get home by 430. Cuts into my work time, but I can take the laptop home. She has a stomachache, but no other symptoms. She had a really hard day yesterday. I guess since she is sick, I had better do the empanadas myself, YIKES!!!

Happy Birthday MT - and many more! Enjoy your special day. Also, congratulations on selling your lot and 5th wheel. You seem much happier to own one home and MH - keeping life simple!

Waving bye to Kathryn - safe flight and travel.

Lots of tasks to do today - off to the adventures!

We had bean & cheese burritos for lunch with fruit.
I did a bit of reading.
Realtor asst. was here to move the lock box and got a key made so H. has his house key back again now. The house needs attn. but I really don't care today wish I did but I just don't. Trying to get past the ear thing as best I can. It does not hurt I'm thankful for that but on the rainy days it seems not as good as the nicer ones.
H. has left to work this afternoon so I had some delicious solitude.
