Re: Finally Flying Friday
We have a 5 Guys here, Kathryn, but I've never been there - but I've heard they're good. Last time we were in California, dh insisted we stop at an In-N-Out Burger place. With WW, I don't eat many burgers anymore.
But I think In-N-Out burgers weren't too large, actually, which was helpful.
Well, I wasted my afternoon.
I still have not gone to the groc. store. I did pick up dd13, but her haircut appointment was moved to tomorrow morning, so I don't have to do that errand. I did do a quick s/s of the bathroom downstairs and tidied the living areas. Dd16's friends are arriving. . .I'm going to go to the groc. store now. Finally.
Well, I wasted my afternoon.

Re: Finally Flying Friday
We are back. Stopped at the library to pick up my new Kindle Fire. Then up the hill. We didn't go the winding, mountain road to Prescott, but took the longer, scenic route thru Skull Valley. There are really huge limestone rocks with holes in them that look like skulls. Sorry I forgot my camera - but they are neat.
Prescott was a disappointment. Lots of traffic, stop lights, hills and curves all at the same time. We stopped at Tuesday AM and picked up almost $100 of kitchen stuff that I need to duplicate in the MH and House. Bowls, tea kettle, tongs, S&P shakers, etc.
Then went to Wally and I picked up a slacks and top for Monday night. We are going to a lecture at the Library by J. A. Jance, one of my favorite authors.
Got home and DS had sent flowers. It has been a great birthday - so many greetings here, IRL and on FB. Now DH is going to cook supper for me.

It’s never too late to be what you might have been.

cuop...
I also love the Allstate man! I used to watch The Unit.
Happy Birthday, MT!!!
Wow... Harriet's graphics! I am impressed.
(((HUGS))) for all of you battling physical * and mental * distress. It's just one thing after another, isn't it?
Right now, we're in a pretty calm period... and it IS amazing... but you just never know. One call from one set or the other of our parents is likely to put everything in a tailspin. I certainly hope dfil is improving today. DH is over there now. I worked till almost 5:00 pm, and there is plenty more school stuff to do... not to mention HOUSE stuff... * sheesh *
If only I hadn't messed up my hair... snip snip snipping away at it on my own.
It's probably not THAT bad, but I am noticing it and it irritates me. Wouldn't be quite so bad if I hadn't paid the girl $20 to do a GOOD job two weeks ago. Then I couldn't be satisfied and started messing with it. I'll never learn.
Guess if that is all that is bothering me, I'm doing okay.

Re: Finally Flying Friday
I have been plugging away at clearing off the dining room table and have it presentable
again now yea! I'd read for a while then work on it a bit, and got to the counters as well
so I'm feeling way better about that.

Re: Finally Flying Friday
This weekend will be a strange one for us. We have decided to shut down MPB due to weather being so cold (below freezing until Monday afternoon). It takes hours to shutdown and then start up again so this isn't a decision we like to make but we have learned (the hard way) this shutdown/start=up time is less than the clean up from trying to keep everything operational during a long freezing spell. If LO wasn't sick, this would be a perfect time to take off and have a road trip. However just doing less for a few days is a welcomed change.

Hapepy Birthday EmptyNester Day tripping sounds fun
Good Flights/ Travels wishes Kathryn and Ken
I sympathise Lucylee. As one who trims her own curly hair it has its own difficulties once started. Sometimes the hair dictates what happens next. and stopping can be difficult. Trying to make it all fit together. I need cut mine again and have been putting it off.
I
hadn't realised you meant the gecko character accent.... I can mostly tell accents -though really there is much variety. Esp when a parent has an accent a certain amount can carry thru to the offspring. So really I can't tell except fot the blatently obvious. Aussies (particularly actors) abroard often take on more of the other accent (to get work). NZ particularly have a different i we think of sounding as e so we can pick them. SAfricans. - yes its all in the vowels. And after a bit often subdues to difficult to pick. Subtle to be sure.
waving to OKay. Hope LO is better soon.
Sunny day. sound of mower. I need get on.

Re: Finally Flying Friday
I was very bad and made waffles and bacon for dinner. Yes, I was stressed and craving carbs. DH comes in
oh! we're having waffles for dinner. Good! The healthy stew leftovers are still in the refrigerator.
We tried to have a bonfire outside tonight. Sat out there less than an hour and it started to sprinkle. Then harder and we came inside. Went back out twice, finally gave up and I hear the rain steadier now. Thank goodness for rain.
I fell in the kitchen tonight, went in there and evidently an ice cube was dropped and melted in a puddle. I went down on my fleshiest part thank goodness, but now my back and ribs are sore as they got jostled. This floor is awful. I never should have picked this tile. Had old rubber shoes on which I've worn for about 6 years and all the tread is worn off. Smooth bottoms. I must quit wearing them in the house.

Re: Finally Flying Friday
We have just came in from the Sweetheart Dinner at church. It was so nice. The tables were decorated so pretty and they handed out flowers when you came in. We sat at a table for 8 with dd1 and her dh. One of his coworkers and her dh were also at the table. Then one of dhs coworkers came in and they sat with us. There was a garden salad with fruit and vegetables with a sweet dressing. The meal was 12 oz. baked potatoes, large steaks, dinner rolls and the most delicious mixed vegetables, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots and squash. Dd1 said they just put butter and garlic powder to season them. Then at each place setting was a volcano cake with real whipped topping. The kids did a great job of serving. After we ate they started the auction. Dd1 said that her and her dh decide what they want to bid on and then don't quit until the get them. Whooo! There was a beautiful queen size quilt that I loved. Dh and dsonils coworker were in a bidding war over it. Dh finally gave up at $470.00, because he could see she was not going to quit any time soon. All we ended up with was a basket with 4 different kinds of biscotti and coffee beans. When dh went to pay for it he paid more than the bid was for, since we didn't buy like we thought we would. Dh really enjoyed himself and he plans to go again next year.
We will be going to Baltimore this May for a conference. Dh told me that he realized the weekend we would be coming home would be the N ascar All Star Race. So we have decided to drive south and go to it, on our way home. I think we will just count this trip as our vacation this year. Between it and dhs bucket list bike trip to Canada, that should do it. Also, we will be going to my class reunion. With all the things we want to do to the house, we need to spend the rest of the time and our money, doing them.
The other couple going to Baltimore, was the couple that sat with us tonight. They plan to fly and we will drive. Earlier dh had said we would fly. When it came down to it, he backed out. I think that's why he wants to incorporate a vacation into the business trip, so he can justify the driving time.
I will be watching dgbaby9months tomorrow while her dm takes the boys to their basketball game. They have to be there 30 minutes early for pictures. Dgd2 may or may not go with them. Dgbaby is now walking full time at less than 10 months. According to dd2, she is in to everything.
Well I better get around and head to bed, it will be time to babysit before I know it.
