Re: Thursday Trials and Triumphs
I'm just sitting in our room right now waiting for answers (see prayer request). I am really concerned that a big broo-ha is brewing. Trying to decide whether or not to go be part of this meeting. Afraid dh will decide to pack up. Hopefully it's a mountain in my mind.

(((Indiana))) why now? That is ridiculous.
I am afraid I am going to have to watch the girls while dd2 and dsonil go to their annual event. Dgd15s friend invited her out of town this weekend. Dd2 wants to let her go, since she has been so hurt by what her dcousin has done to her. Dd2 and I have an unspoken system. I always know what she is doing and if I want to babysit, I offer. If I don't want to, I don't. She was so desperate that she texted the sisil that has her nose out of joint and asked her if she or one of her 2 dds could babysit. She didn't respond. Up until dd2 and dsonil moved, she loved to babysit occassionally. I guess I will run it by dh but I know he won't be happy, especially since I will be busy between now and then getting ready for the open house. Also, I would rather chase them around their house instead of mine.
Well I better start fixing supper.

Re: Thursday Trials and Triumphs
Well, I'm glad they are taking no chances, Kathryn. Bet there are some shop owners, etc., near where your ship might have been who will have a hard time now if the regular schedule of tourism is changed. Hope any stomach queasies are long gone.
Ds26 and family came to see us! The baby (6 mos) is smiling all the time, beautiful baby face smiles. He just never stops. He has taken up growling. They don't know why. GrandpaHRH got home, and the baby would growl and then Grandpa would growl and the baby would rest his head, smiling, on Grandpa's chest to listen to the growl, and then they would growl together. I said where is a videorecorder when you need one. They had stayed a long time with the baby very animated, he was on my lap bouncing and suddenly I just felt like this was a lot of activity and said, "You're going to need a nap", leaning him back. Right then the baby rubbed his eyes and yawned, so ds and ddil were impressed with my ability to encourage children to nap, lol.
Like all the other grandchildren, it is HRH's beard that they love. A 3-year-old girl and parents saw HRH as they were all walking toward a restaurant. She loudly asked, "What's his name?" So the father said, "That must be Santa." And the little girl said "No, Santa is in Ohio." When HRH took his cap off to enter the restaurant (his hair is getting as white as his beard now), the little girl called out, "Santa, Santa, Santa!". All the restaurant staff and patrons turned to smile at this. HRH told her no, but thank you because he liked looking like Santa - that he was Santa's helper at the Southern Branch Office.
I don't have a beard so I have to work harder.
Will be enjoying Big Band Theory at 8 est.

Indiana, I want a lawyer!!!! You signed things - they agreed to things and signed things. Or you would never have moved in. I don't care if somebody comes up with new ideas now, Jake is GRANDFATHERED in.

Re: Thursday Trials and Triumphs
Dee, maybe you could suggest to dsisil she could come take care of dgd for a little while.
Gee, Mr. DeeClutter is usually a favorite of dgd's is he not? Will she not try for his sake? No, if you fear for his well being, you will have to send him out for a walk or something. Invite someone over - change the dynamic.
Well, I think I was responding to the late afternoon post, ((Dee)), and not seeing the evening posts. Have seen J and C now. God bless all of you.

((((Dee))))
Indiana - who said that? The vet? Your Doctor? An administrator? for what reason/ Trying to maintain my calm and learn the reason before I start to get a serious anger going on.
LO is eating EVERYTHING IN SIGHT and begging for more to eat. I'm assuming it is from the steroids. supper was a whole sandwich, followed by an apple, followed by a peanut butter lollipop (aka on a spoon), followed by goldfish crackers. WHERE is he putting it all??

Re: Thursday Trials and Triumphs
Well I am finally caught up reading here. My a lot is going on.
Twins, that must have been annoying not having your work computer. What did the vet say about Macs?
(Harriet and family) hard day yesterday I'm sure. Be kind to yourself if you can.
Kathryn, it occurred to me that since your legs itch on this boat, could you be allergic to ginger? Good that your port is changed, safety first!
Lilac, so sorry for all your problems lately. Appraisals are the pits right now. We lost sale of our other house because appraisal came in too low. They judged the market value of the house based on others around us sold, and they were all short sales or foreclosures. Not fair!
Sadie, if there are no Door Greeters, will there be noone to mark your returns upon entering? And what about getting the carts ready?
Dee, I'm wondering if your dd could install a nanny camera to take video of DGD shenanigans for the therupist? I do hope everything gets worked out.
Indiana, why do they want Jake gone? Is he too noisy when you are away? They did allow you to bring him. I'm so sorry for you having to deal with this now.
OKay, I'm glad to read LO is getting better. And since your important date has come and gone perhaps the next news you hear will be good.
I've been shopping, shopping. Lots of walking on hard floors. My bones, joints are all sore, my back is really badly stiff and sore, and my feet are sore today for sure since trying on shoes (heels) and walking around. Out of 2 days' shopping, I got 1 blouse, 1 skirt (medium grey) a black top, and today I got a dress and very light sweater/wrap to wear with it.
I'm just sick and tired of never having anything to wear that fits. Not wanting to go up a size, I would disregard that size, but lower size is just a tadd snug. I've been wearing the same 3 pairs of slacks for about 3 years to church... Now that my feet are a bit better I can wear a little dressier shoe which means I can wear a skirt or a dress. So I need to seriously go through the closet and sort.
I've been trying to get down in weight for so long, and I'm just so stuck, and finally decided to just get some things that fit where I am now, and deal with it later if they become too big (I wish!).
Yesterday I did get a bunch of laundry done before going out. Bed changed, whites done. I've been keeping desk chores done too. Today I did big statement, yay for that!

Re: Thursday Trials and Triumphs
Harmony, I'm glad you were able to find some new clothes you like.
((Hugs)) for Dee and dh. Hoping all will work out well for you and your family!
((Hugs)) for Indiana and Jake. Hope you are able to work things out so you can stay together!
We had a nice day today. The weather was perfect for a winter day in the south. Dh decided he was bored and not wanting to sit in so we took a ride across the bay to Ikea. We had a nice slow walk around the store, just the right exercise for us.
Dh has gone to bed already, but it's too early for me and too early for ddogs. They will need to go out again before lights out. I'm going to do some sewing for a little while.
