Re: Positive Day Thursday
Oooooh, how I need a positive day today, Lisa! Just got up to a text about needing to call someone who wants to vent about the rabbi some more. I don't need this on March 8 (with March 15 deadline next week) but need to be positive. And I'm embarrassed she asked me to call her a couple of weeks ago and I haven't followed through.
I spent time earlier this week trying to resolve a stupid temple matter and now this - I know people don't consider how much tax season takes over my life when they want to talk to me about temple biz, but I just don't have the bandwidth (I think Helia first used that term) to care about all of it.
Trying to work through some of a.m. routine, but need to get rolling, too.

Lisa...Nice quote. I try to "live in the moment" every day
Hang in there Twin's. Take a breath make the call and be on your way. You always seem to have a way with words and thats why others turn to you for help.
I'm up headache and all, hoping that the advil will ease my neck. I'm doing neck stretching exercises and trying to remember that these types of injuries take time to heal...I may hate it, but its a fact. It took almost a year before I wasn't feeling the effects of those broken ribs from last year, so I just need to pace myself. Each day brings me closer to Better
Tomorrow is Friday and the beginning of my "maybe" last spring break. While Sweetie and I were eating dinner last night I commented that he finally had some wrinkles showing up on his face...he will be 65 next week and I swear except for a little less hair and a grayer beard he hasn't seemed to age since we got together 11 years ago. Anyway he said the wrinkles were because he was so concerned about me because of this last year at work. At first I thought he was just teasing me, but quickly realized he was telling me the truth. I had no clue. Anyway it makes the thought of retiring an even more easier decision.
I can hear the school bells ringing so its time to make the run. Hope y'all enjoy today. Everyone I know is welcoming new babies into their families. Fun to watch.

And on a more positive note, I did listen to the 21 phone messages at home - mostly unwanted campaign messages and vet calls. I had a very, very nice phone message that has made my day - a member of temple commenting on my president's message in the last bulletin and wanting to discuss further, and saying that it was very well written. This individual writes for one of the local newspapers, so that's especially gratifying.
I do acknowledge that I haven't called the lady after she asked me to several weeks ago - otoh, she told another that she had called me several times with no response and I have no phone messages or other communications from her that I know of.
On to the day, on a positive note!

OHHHhhhhh Love today's theme!!
I am POSITIVELY thrilled to be back in my home.
Driving 8 hours and taking care of 5, 3 and 1 year olds for a couple of days is not for the faint of heart.
I returned late last night and am trying to get things (meals, laundry, cards, etc etc etc) set up and going again IYKWIM.
Today is a must-do errand day - 8 stops on my list so far.

Re: Positive Day Thursday
Everyone sounds so positive so far this morning! Cowinkie, you certainly have the right to be moping around, but I'm glad you recognize that feeling better will take a while and just look forward to it with a positive spin for yourself!
Emptynester, that's nice that you two are so happy with the house.
Dee hasn't posted since Friday. Hope everything's okay.
Did ya'll see the news story from Great Britain this a.m. on the garment care label sewn into a line of men's slacks? I got my hackles up a bit, but it was so juvenile it was hard to believe, really. The care label had the usual laundry symbols and wording, then suggested, "Give it to your woman. It's her job."
I need my eating to be positive today. I may write down everything I intend to eat in advance. I know that I'll need to go by pharmacy 2 after HRH gets home this afternoon, and they are located near the healthy food store, so maybe I can think of some things to pick up there for that will keep me on the straight and narrow!
I have two in the bed today recuperating. Dd13 was up from 3 in the morning with some kind of stomach upset. I don't know if she will feel like going for a half-day of school later or not. She did not have a fever at 3 when we checked it and doesn't seem to have one this a.m. My ddad did not sleep well, has had his breakfast and gone back to bed.
Checking my handy-dandy Laundry card I see the master linens are up for laundry. I love no-brainers. Time for the Morning Daily Card and half an apple.

Re: Positive Day Thursday
I am SO going to need a positive day today!! With a certain nsdco-worker still booked off "sick" (and no indication of when she might be back, so we can't get staff support in to help cover), there willl be four of us, plus the older co-worker who was attacked by the American Bulldog two years ago, and is now only allowed to work in the admin area. I can only hope that it's not too terribly busy, as I will be covering two positions.
I did, at least, get plenty of sleep last night - dozing off from about 6:45 - 9pm, and then about 10pm - almost 1am...finally going to bed about 3am and sleeping through till just after 7am. Now, I have about two hours before I have to go to work, and I need to make good use of the time.
First, I'm going to spend 15 minutes working on the contacts spreadsheet for the seed donation project, then get some laundry folded and put away. After that, it's critter care, and possibly some knitting or sewing.
We had a gorgeous full moon here last night - it was just rising as I was on my way home from work - huge and pink-tinged in the eastern sky. It was beautiful, but I'm sure it would have looked even more impressive going through the Strait of Gibraltar!

Re: Positive Day Thursday
Oh yes I need to keep things positive around here some days that is more of a challenge than others. Yesterday we enjoyed watching the big hawk gather nesting material from the neighbors
tree and fly back the other direction with a bit of fir branch in it's beek, the other day I saw it
flying over head with a snake from the field. We watched squirrels getting nuts from the deck and
playing in the yard. The last nut the male stole from the female ran up the tree and ate it there.
I just have a few chapters left in the book I'm reading I've been enjoying it.

Re: Positive Day Thursday
Ok, now I have a not-so-positive picture in my imagination, our house with a big huge ribbon and bow around it with a huge tag that says "give it to your woman it's her job". Huh. I'm thinking they'll lose sales, all those women who's job it is to buy needed clothing items for their husbands.
I was up much too late, sewing, just reached that point I wanted to be done. So slept in an hour today. But I am up and running, doing my Carmen impression today. DH has the whole youth group coming Sat. for a bonfire hotdogs & s'mores. And that means several adults from church as chaperones... and areas that I keep neat and clean, but not company ready, like our bedroom and bathroom, will be in full view and people go in off the patio to use facilities. Sheesh. I am so not comfortable with this.
So far: back porch has been cleaned and hosed and all furniture out there washed/rinsed. I am chilled and cold right now. I have fielded call after call, I wish the phone would stop. Sheets are in the laundry.
Harriet, I came up with a surefire way to stop those JW people from coming to your doors, just go ahead and convert!
ducking and running..

Nancy, that sounds like so much fun watching stuff like that. Mean squirrel!

Re: Positive Day Thursday
Good morning! I did nothing useful around the house last night. I had dinner with a friend and played games. However, it kept me from moping. It doesn't look like the usual Thursday lunch with friends is happening, so I don't know what I will be doing. I have a church meeting tonight and so won't be at art class. Thursday I eat at the Cracker Barrel on the way to art, but it is FAR out of the way for church. So I don't know what I am doing for dinner either, probably cereal. At least I should be able to get to bed early tonight, why am I always so tired? I don't sound very positive do I? What about: I am positive I am going to make progress on these flowcharts!
