I got the flower beds clean out that I wanted to do this morning plus a bit more yea for progress.
Finished up a puppet so I'm good on my count of them for the time being as well.
Got a nap in the middle of a movie here at home but caught the end of it. Figured a nap could not hurt this time change week end as we have been getting up earlier the past couple of days.
Missed the movie we were going to see oh well we both lost track of time.

Re: Saturday Celebrations!
That's also a wonderful sounding birthday meal, Lilac! I can tell the 2 fifteen-year-olds are worrying their grandmother and I assume it is doing their grandfather no good. I wish they could act like mature youngsters because that is the birthday present you would both appreciate.
No others at visitation, OKay? A very long drive for you, but nice to get away from the usual responsibilities for a birthday. It reminds me of the Reba McIntyre song from 15 years ago or more,
Hunger Games young-adult fiction book is also being talked about at dd13's school, OKay - it is because the MOVIE debuts March 23, and I think it will be a shocker type. Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid's son, now 19, plays one of the more bloodthirsty characters. For dd13, I don't know if it's better to let her read it and therefore prepare for it or to try to sidestep it as I have with the Twilights. I may depend upon dd32, who has already read it, for advice.
Dove, I enjoyed some time on the step. Left. Right. Alternate!

I'd like to fly to Hawaii
But honey if I had to choose
I'd rather ride around with you.

Re: Saturday Celebrations!
Yes, Harriet, this really weighing on me and I don't see it ending anytime soon. They have both drawn the line and think the other needs to apologize. They are both so stubborn.
Dd2 decided to take her 5 kids plus dgd15 boyfriend and go to Houston to see her best friend over spring break, which is a 750+ mile trip. Of course, I wasn't crazy over that idea but kept my mouth shut. Afterall, she is a grown woman and doesn't need my permission. The boyfriend is 16 and such a nice guy. He is so good with the 4 younger kids, plus he is about the only person who can calm dgd15 down when she gets in a snit. I just talked to dd2 and they are at their hotel for the night. Since she would need adjoining rooms, she had made reservations and therefore she is on a schedule of sorts. This way there is a boy room and a girl room. She just told me that the boyfriend has been a lot of help and she couldn't have made the trip without the help of him and dgd15. Dgdalmost11months says the boyfriends name over and over. Her vocabulary is mama, dada, aught o and his name, which is also her dads name but she doesn't call him by name. She doesn't even try to say her siblings names. They spent the afternoon in Dallas at a huge mall. They met a friend and her family for dinner. After that they drove 1 1/2 hours to the hotel and are 170 miles from Houston. She plans to be back Thursday.
Dd2 has decided to open a business. This has always been her dream. Her dh is supportive but told her she has to get loans, if she wants to do this. She is planning to open what she calls a pottery studio. I call it ceramics since it is bisque and not clay. She is flying to Dallas in May for training. She will need to leave just as are getting back from our trip. I told her if the race is delayed for rain we will stay over, so she needs to plan accordingly. I don't mind watching the girls when we get back, but our trip was planned first. She asked me if I wanted to work for her and I told her no, it's her dream, not mine. I really thought she would just forget this idea, but it looks like she is going forward with it. With 5 kids and all their activities, it makes more sense for her to go back to teaching, instead of taking on a business, but when she makes up her mind to do something, she does it.

Re: Saturday Celebrations!
Well, I slept for three hours & could go right back to sleep! You'd think I would get caught up eventually!
Belated "Happy Birthday" to Lilac's dh & OKay's dh. Glad both got what they wanted for meals.
(((Lilac))), sorry about the dgd's. Hope they come to their senses soon. The teen years can be rough, both on the teens & also on their loved ones.
I spent some time with DMother this afternoon. Hopefully I can get started on my taxes tomorrow.
Good night all.

Re: Saturday Celebrations!
Friday was Day 30 of our trip and our last sea day of the cruise. It was awfully busy, though. I was writing as much as I could, took in a lecture on Catalonia (since our next three ports are in that province), enjoyed fish & chips at the pub lunch, had a pedicure (and Ken had a massage), sewed on a button, and enjoyed a before-dinner classical piano concert featuring Colin, the cruise director (who is an accomplished musician.) Dinner was with friends from the previous segment and the lecturer. The evening show was a comedian and we were quite surprised at how good he was, given he was catering to a trans-Atlantic mix of passengers.
Today, day 31, was spent on the island of Ibiza. I've had my fill of sun, sand, beautiful blue skies, medieval towns and palm trees. Yes, I know that makes me sound spoiled but it is the truth.
We slept in a bit, had a leisurely breakfast while the washers ran, I hung up the laundry and then we headed out for a walk around town.
The walled city is on the top of a hill. I can see the fortress from our cabin but when I got outside, I had no energy to climb up to it so we spent an hour walking around the newer area of town. The old town was empty of people (it is a Saturday) but in the newer area, there was the typical hustle and bustle so I got a feel for the real life here.
We came back to the ship and I spent a quiet afternoon in the cabin, listening to my the Cowboy Church service podcast from last week and puttering around, packing things I won't need again and organizing things in my mind.
Ken took a bus out to the end of the line in search of another sunning beach. It isn't really beach weather, the high today was only 60, but out of the wind and in the sun it is still warm enough to lie out. At least for a Canadian!
Ken had quite the adventure and came home with scratched up legs.

When the bus reached the end of the line, I decided to follow the coastline to the beach. This turned out to be a nature walk and not a beach walk as I thought. Two hours later I had made it over the rocky shoreline, at times walking past the top of 60 foot cliffs and at other times walking at sea level, to the beach on the far side. I was only in sandals and so some of the dry shrubbery cut up my calves a bit, but only with surface scratches. The panoramic views of the city were amazing, and the rugged rocks made for beautiful scenery while I walked.
As in all previous beach experiences, the pattern is water, then beach, then dunes, then “other” which in this case were quiet salt flats and not a noisy highway.
Once again I found the lee side of a dune where the sun was powerful and very warm (almost hot), and I enjoyed some time to myself without anyone nearby. Not wanting to take the route back over the rocks, I made my way past the salt flats to a bus stop of another bus line. Here sea water is directed into very long paddy-like areas to evaporate, leaving the white salt behind when the moisture disappears.
Unfortunately, that bus is seasonal and not running, but the lady at the cantina next to the bus stop kindly called a taxi for me and I was back to the ship in less than 15 minutes.

I'm all ready for dinner in 7 minutes. Gotta run!
