SATISFACTORY =that's what we hope to see dIndiana upgraded to today!

DH and DD have gone for their walk. I elected to stay home. We're leaving around 9 to go see friends in Ocala. DD plans to go with us.

Very heavy dew this morning -some ground fog.

GD and I had a little "run-in" last night. It was her night to do dishes and DD got them ready in a sink of soapy hot water for her. I glanced over and she was simply taking them out of the 'wash' half and putting them in the other sink. Of course I HAD to say something at that point. Not good....... Just her way of hoping someone else will say they'd do them. Didn't happen.

Have to start packing for dh this weekend. He leaves in 12 days. Know he's anxious to get up north. So am I for that matter, but it will be another 6 weeks for me after he leaves.

Oh, Dee! You ARE all having a trying time! Of course, you could all sit down to the next meal with lovely clean plates except for hers, but if HRH knew I suggested such a thing to you, he would faint - so no, don't do that!! Still, some nice yellow egg solidified onto a white plate... .. no, no, don't do that!!! I'm so bad. In the interest of full disclosure I should go further to tell you that dd here finds every possible way to get out of (or trade out of) dishwashing, her least favorite chore.

Well, I did it. I exercised as soon as I could after arising at 6:30 this a.m. Amazingly, I was still interrupted 3 times. Once by my ddad, twice by HRH who had been awakened by all of the above. I got in 30 minutes, though, and had a protein shake (no fruit) afterward as suggested by the study I mentioned last evening. So we'll see! It didn't kill me, but I was certainly suspicious of my stiffness.

HRH says to assure "your ladies" that he had fried potatoes and eggs this a.m. and was careful not to expend too many calories making them.

Our decision of the day will be whether dd and I go out for that book. The lawn chairs look very nice this morning, so we're glad we put in all that scrubbing effort.

Lawn mowing mentioned a lot yesterday - we've just started that chore here. OKay, here it is the John Deere dealership that takes FOREVER to get lawn tractors or tractors back to us and charges WAY too much. We try to find small shops but they just don't seem to exist any more. I guess LisaB and Lynlee are looking forward to the end of lawn mowing chores soon.

I "mowed" my lawn yesterday, too. Which means I raked my gravel.

The yard looks pretty good except for the huge agave I pulled that are sitting next to my driveway. I am done doing yard work for a while and will let them dry a bit so they won't be so heavy. Then I will cut them up with the reciprocating saw and hope to have some help getting them in the trailer to haul away.

My DD that raises dogs had to put their old male down this morning. She raised him from a puppy so it is not a good day for her.

I got a package of those thermal patches for DH but it was the kind that wrap around so was too small. I cut the ends off and had him tape it to my back so I am feeling pretty good this morning.

We go to breakfast in about an hour and then register for Wood carving week at 10. I need to go unpack some boxes of bark to see which one I want to start on this week.

First up I have to jump in the shower as my hair looks like I've stuck my finger in a light socket.

What a wonderful day - far better than satisfactory here at my house. I slept in until 8:30 (after going to bed exhausted at 10:30) and dh has left to go to ATL (w dd, who was picked up in K-town yesterday but spent the night with P&D) and they will have lunch and pick up ds - and both will be home for spring break this next week. Meanwhile I have the house to myself for awhile.

Exhausting evening - services at temple, at which there were two families of very, very noisy little ones, followed by a wonderful dinner at drabbi's home with friends. I'm just too out of sorts to enjoy people much right now. As always, a lot of noise gets to me when I'm stressed (I keep music on very low, or white noise going at work) and I feel like I just don't have much to say because all I can think about are tax returns. I slipped out at 10 p.m. not wanting to break up the group (rabbi and dwife, another couple of dfriends, and our visitor from Israel (a young man in early twenties) and his dmom visiting from Israel.)

It feels wonderful to know I have today and tomorrow before I head back to work.

Hello Ladies,

Welcome home Kathryn. I'm hoping that Indiana improves and is back with us soon. Get well soon Indiana.

Harriet, my DH and I pay the groundsman on the plot to cut our lawn as we do not have a lawn-mower and it's easier this way. We just rake up the grass, which isn't much, so not too hard.

We went to Pretoria today to DBiL. He's looking for a place to rent in another area. This is due to the fact that he's sold his flat and now needs to move. DH volunteered our services to help him move when he's ready . Lucky for us he's not got a lot of things. I will prepare a cleaning bucket for him for the first day when he has his new place.

DD14 is recovering. Oh I forgot to tell you all that she spent the night in hospital last Friday for observation. This was ordered by a specialist as she has had some swelling in the area of the appendix. It's swollen glands in the area. DD14 will go back for a follow-up on this Friday coming to see if the meds worked and the swelling has gone down.

I got a new book recently by Linda Koopersmith, "The Beverley Hill's Organizer Home Organizing Bible". I've used her technique for folding T-Shirts into my drawer and found that it works as I get more folded and put into the drawer her way. Now onto DD's and DH's T-shirts to be folded the same way. This method freed up quite a lot of space in the other drawer and now looks neat and organized nicely.

Lisa - I haven't heard of that author but did a quick online search which lead to a youtube video with her showing how to fold clothes. thank you for sharing about the book/author!

I've stayed on schedule the first 4 hours of today and am thrilled with what I was able to accomplish just by doing one card at a time. I was tempted over and over to sidetrack and do several other things, but kept repeating to myself that wouldn't allow me to complete a card. If I didn't get credit for doing a task, then I restrained myself from sidetracking. It was all about getting those cards done this morning and the reward of watching the card count go up! 81 = CCC (current card count)

I saw on FB that DGS16 has been into some mischief. I'm going to contact him and see about "doing" lunch" together and give him an opportunity to talk it out. We have some other things to take care for too. We need to exchange some jeans that I bought the wrong size....actually they are the same size as another pair of jeans I just bought for him but a different style so they don't fit as well.

DSon is on super Dad duty today. DDIL is flying to my state today to look at a puppy. This breeder is very selective who they allow to own their dogs and potential owners have to apply and go through a multi stage interview process. They have passed all the interview steps and have been selected so now it is time tor her to met the puppy. If all goes well she will make the trip again tomorrow (10 hours of driving) to take puppy home with her.

I have to share a "mischief" story dgson said they swap bites under the table at school of their lunch they are not supposed to share! No trading like we did when we were in school. We had a good conversation on our walk.

Today I'm not in a very fine mood h. is making his big breakfast for the week. We have a buffet opportunity at lunch I said he might want to do that breakfast on a diff. day. I"m SO glad yesterday is done! Yea!!!

Bed is made. BS is up this morning a bit took meds. for that. No showing planned here but h. still wants to "stage" the deck & patio. I said no on the table cloth & stuff I set out as it's been raining and too wet. Maybe cups that won't be damaged by rain sigh. What PIB [Pain in you know what]! Sigh! I was not happy when I realized that my pruners were left out in the rain when he moved a table for staging the other day. Okay I now realize I need to work on my attitude. We both do here and we both recognize it. Some days we all need a bit of "cave time"!

Dgd said some thing the other day "can you go upstairs grandma I need alone". I was amazed that at that age she understood the concept of alone time! Wow. We worked out a concept I said I"d be really quiet and she could have half of the basement and I'd have the other half. That seemed to satisfy here she did a tea party with her dolls and in 20 min. she was fine! I need to take a few notes from my dgd! LOL!

Yesterday dgson was looking through his work book a primary mead. comp. note book with space to draw on the top of each page. He wanted to cut out one of the pics. that he'd drawn I said no but he could have the whole thing when he was done. There are some assignments in is from last year. I could tell the wheels were turning inside his head; he is doing much more diffacult stuff this year. It was good for him to see how far he's come!

A satisfactory Saturday here in my world! My very DBIL is coming to do spring cleanup in my yard. I'm sure he has better things to do, so I am extremely grateful! I have someone to mow the grass, but it is hard to find anyone who will do other lawn chores for a reasonable price.

OKay - I'm always amazed at the number of cards you are able to get done! WTG!!!

MT - Sympathies to your DD on the loss of her ddog. Always a difficult time. Your "lawn" is really shaping up!

Lisa B - Hope your DD's swelling has gone down & she is on the road to recovery. I remember Linda Koopersmith was on one of the "cleaning shows" a few years back. Clean House maybe? I didn't know she had a book, I'll have to check it out.

If the word "goal" were substituted for the above quote from OKay, is would be almost word-for-word what dd13 said to me today as she pondered the list she's compiled of 7 potential books to meet the AR goal. She has several long books she'd love to start and dreams of the next HP, but doesn't dare, because she'd be losing points that can't be carried over to the next quarter. She has to choose a combination of shorter ones she can complete in certain time frames, so keep her eye on how many pages, etc. I guess there is a puzzle quality to the program that may be teaching the children lessons in time management.

The guidance counselor who spoke on reading at the meeting for future high-schoolers said that, no, AR was not continued into 9th grade and that she didn't approve of it anyway.
