For those of you in Central time and east, spring actually arrives tomorrow (1:14am EDT), but for those of us in Mountain and Pacific time, it arrives tonight!! 11:14pm MDT to be precise!! I have awakened this morning extra early, and seem to have lots of energy, enthusiasm, and motivation. I haven't a clue where it came from, but I do believe I'll take advantage of it
Winter is doing its best to hang on...we've got some snow in the forecast again today, but it will be gone by tomorrow. Yesterday, I saw people walking their dogs, kids riding bikes, and even three motorbikes out and about!
Alright! Time to lay out the morning munchies buffet, and get myself moving. I think this morning, we'll have bran muffins, blueberry muffins, banana bread, fruit platters, and tea, coffee, and juice. All calorie and fat free, of course! (And no-carb for the diabetics..LOL)
I need to pay some bills, so I think I'll do that first. Then...
- strip/remake bed
- bathroom
- upstairs critter care
- set dishes to soak
- sew three kittycat pads

Know spring has already sprung in the northeast, BSweet. DDIL texted me yesterday about how beautiful her daffodils were -and this is at least a month early and probably more. Oh watch out! DH goes north next Thursday and inevitably he won't have these mild temps to work in once he's there.
Oh, he's out of of the b-room and I need to go. Taking him for his morning walk. I do walk some but not the amount he does. So I can barely count it. Then we're going to his db's to help cut some limbs. Think dsil and I are going to go 'baby' shopping. Want to send a couple of things home to DS-A and DDIL.
Spring has sprung here - it's criminal to have weather this nice with four weeks of tax season left. I wanna be done! I wanna stay home today! Late getting here to the office - went back to bed for a little while after dh left to go work out. Dkids asleep, ddogs asleep, still dark with a few birds beginning to tune up.

We have already broken a temperature record here at least once last week, with an unnerving 84 before mid-March, and it will be 84 again tomorrow. Most people here are a little bewildered.
Also there was an article in our regional newspaper yesterday, I believe, that said air conditioner repair costs are expected to jump because of a shortage of freon r22. So, even if we don't have a particularly hotter summer after all is said and done, there could still be more a tragic rise in deaths from heat if fewer people can afford to keep air conditioners running.
We started out with a kinda bad morning here again, but maybe it is better.
It's super foggy here this morning. HRH went for a walk but dd and I decided to leave for the school run knowing he would be right back. We saw him walking toward us as we drove out, silhouetted against the white fog, with his walking stick. I stopped and called out to him, "It's Robin Hood coming out of the forest!" and he called back, "More like gorilla in the mist."
Dd has 3 tests today. I hope she can keep it all straight.
I slept better last night yea! Thanks Harriet that was sound advice yesterday! I told h. I wanted to go to a diff. church for Easter where I knew the music would be better! We some times go w/ one of the kids to their church. I need a break from ours I suppose this means the honeymoon phase is over! They are making hats for chemo patients this spring. I finished one for dgson last night it looks silly with a pointy top but kids love that kind of thing!
It looks like spring out now I have tulips budding, violets daffs and hyacinths are blooming here, but boy it sure does not feel like it! [Br-r it's cold outside here this morning.]
Got the cover letter for h. in a regular e-mail. [After telling the sender how to send it.] I guess it was helpful b/c she had others she was working with and would send their's the same way so that is good.
Ok I've done the updates for the attachments and it did not help! Ack! How frustrating. The regular e-mail works however. Not having the same programs is frustrating!

Our day got off to a productive start but has now halted.
I got up late (had trouble falling asleep until we opened the windows past midnight to cool the bedroom) and got out of bed just before 7. Stripped and remade the bed, s2s, ate and was out the door, late, at 8. We were going to avoid the freeway but then remembered school buses, so turned the car around and took the freeway to the medical imaging place, getting there in 32 minutes, thus making up the 15 minutes we were late. I had to be there 20 minutes early, was taken immediately so actually left only 3 minutes after my scan was supposed to start.
Now I have to wait. A doctor will read the scan today, my doctor will get the report in 2 weeks, but as soon as 1 week if there is a problem. Either way, I'll hear before the date they tried to schedule me for. The mammogram hurt more than usual but wasn't near unbearable at all, perhaps because I was so focused on them getting good images and knowing the discomfort would be temporary.
Next stop was Staples for tax prep software, an SD card for the camera (our old one could only hold 500 photos, this can hold 3000 so I'm not likely to run out of space on the camera if I forget to clear off the photos between 2 days of touring), new pens for my devotion journalling (my old one ran out on Saturday and so this was my mammogram reward since I like that particular style of pen) and some legal presentation dividers for dh's Visa application.
Next stop was the Chinese grocery store, then the airport where dh had his expired Visa removed from his Nexus info so he can use the Nexus card for entry into the US once more.
We were home by 10:30 feeling very accomplished. Since then, I've sat at my computer, ignoring the chaos around me.
Good morning everyone. Spring came yesterday with its usual 72 mph peak gusts kicking up outrageous amounts of sand. Yesterday, I paid all bills and updated Quicken. I think I forgot to back it up, but I do have the paper back up. Today I have a tax appointment and will finish that. I had to track down my mortgage information, which was never sent (or at least never made it, they claim it was sent). DD10 is back at XDH's so my house is quiet again, bummer. I need to do much shopping tonight, and then update Quicken again.
Friday night I found a lump on one of the foster cats. I had someone else look at him while at the adoption clinic to make sure I wasn't imagining it. She found a different lump. He has a vet trip tomorrow. He had his foot amputated for two different kinds of cancer (osteosarcoma + fibrosarcoma) so this is really worrisome news. He is also ~12.
Good morning all! It is a cloudy day, thunderstorms are expected, but so far only a gentle rain is falling. The flowers and trees are at least a month ahead of schedule. It is beautiful, but I hope they know what they are doing!
Lynlee - If spring begins tonight in North America, does that mean the beginning of autumn in Australia? WTG on using "the box", and kudos for recognizing when something (a book) isn't helpful. Something I need to keep in mind.
OKay - Sympathies on the losses in your family recently. Hope LO is feeling better.

I heard a dog harking and shepherds don't hark, so I knew it was either not my dog, or my dog in trouble, and Tobias leapt into the window when he heard it. So I went out calling. Around the house at the chicken house were Sammie and 2 of the sweetest old mama beagles. They had excellent collars with the same metal info band I remember my ddad's beagles always had. Polly and Jolene. I called the number, got a nice man and stayed on the porch with the panting dogs until he arrived. I gave them water and lots of petting - gotta love a trusting beagle, who figures you are a saint as soon as she sees you. Well, maybe Sammie put in a good word.
They had been gone from home only a little over 24 hours, so they were just thirsty, not dehydrated. No doubt lured away by deer scent in the moist ground. Happy reunion on our lawn was something for a video, really. The man was no happier than the dogs. Jolene knew his truck sound so well she darted off the porch to show him where she was before he came in sight. Polly waited for me, since I had been so nice. LOL
One thing to notice - I picked 2 ticks, not yet latched on, off the beagles and they were no little things, either. These were big enough to do some damage. So if you have a pet who needs protection, get busy, the season is early here.
