Wednesday Challenges & Goals

Post by OKay »

If we don't routinely set challenging goals, we can become satisfied with surprisingly little. It's easy to descend gradually into complacency and start accepting less than the best for yourself and your family.

Today is a busy day from start to end. I find these kind of days invigorating when I have goals of things I want to accomplish broken down into challenges to keep on track in order to get them done. It is all about challenging myself so I don't compare myself to anyone else (where I frequently come up short and find myself unhappy that I can't be/do as much as others).

My PODA is written out on my notebook because I will be mobile most of the day and need to be able to refer to it.

Great minds opened today, lemetellya! I'll stick my Worthwhile Wednesday here under OKay's very challenging thread! :D

Will the accomplishments you make today amount to something? Sure they will!

Keep up with the little things because they are worthwhile. Pick it up, don't pass it up. Then, put it away.

Notice your mistakes with a smile on your face, because you're a step closer to worthwhile achievement.

Have an adventure. It's worthwhile in itself!

Good morning, villagers ~

It's Apron Day! Callooh! Callay!

I am grateful that today I am not required to go anywhere or see anyone. The past 7 days have been very social. I need to decompress. The house needs major attention.

I am grateful to be able to relax with my coffee this morning.

I am grateful that my own family is doing ok at the moment.

I am grateful for this village full of friends who care about each other. I am thinking about each and every one of you, and hope that your day is whatever you want it to be.

I'm at work trying to get rolling. Yesterday was pretty unproductive - I had a dental appt in the a.m. which affected my focus, then dkids coming by late in the afternoon (ds then had his dental appt), then a meeting at temple last night. Also, dh emailed me a photo yesterday of our soon to be house with the framing up for the first floor! He went by again last night and the framing on the second floor is started. He thinks it might be "under roof" by the weekend and of course, that is very distracting!

I stopped off at Whole Foods this morning for two bunches of pink tulips for my desk - an attempt to "treat myself" w/o using food.

THinking of Indiana and Lucylee's dfamily today.

And echoing Booksaver, and wishing I could stay home and decompress with her! Enjoy!

Oh Frabjous Day, BookSaver! Perhaps I can join you later.

First up for me today is an appt for dd13 with the family doctor. HRH will stay with my ddad while we do this, because the dr will also want to talk to me about my follow-up ultrasound. Depending upon what the dr says, dd may or may not go on to school. I was up from 4:00 to 5:00 in the night with my ddad, but things were not that far from normal. This morning he was up early and was irritable we weren't up yet, acting as though nothing had ever been wrong, denies that there is anything wrong with his partial. So I'm waiting to see if this continues. I can't just demand to take it out of his mouth to see. He had banana and muffins on his own and now won't have his usual breakfast at usual time, but I did get him to take his vitamin.

There are several things I'll need to pick up on the way home so I need to get that straight with HRH. Dd needs to get ready for school as if she will go straight there after dr.

Hooray for an image of future dwelling to contemplate, Twins Mom!

I've been up since about 6, and was going to open with something along the lines of Wisdom Wednesday...but I thought I'd let someone else open for a change..LOL Wisdom is a worthwhile thing, so I guess we were all thinking along similar lines :D

Upstairs critter care and the bathroom are done...now I need to deal with the downstairs critter care, trash, and dishes. I also have a whole list of phone calls to make today for the seed donation project, but don't have to actually go out until about 6pm to meet up with someone at the nearby mall to pick up an item I purchased.

Next up....

- downstairs critter care
- take out trash
- put away clean dishes
- finish 3 kittycat pads in progress
- re-vacuum living room

Have you ever noticed that if you left it wayyyy too long before vacuuming, that the next day or two there's a million bits of stuff that seem to crawl out of the woodwork (or the bottom of the carpet) that need to be vacuumed?

Good Morning Gals wishing every one a great day and Happy Spring!
I'm up a bit earlier than usual for me but it's a good thing as I have granny duty in a bit.
b.s. was low so I've had my granola bar for breakfast and meds. QT is done. Coffee is made.

I can see water standing outside in puddles I can tell it's been raining. I slept well last night.

I'm up and sort of at 'em. Drinking coffee, took trash to the curb, fed dcats their breakfast. I'm accepting OKay's challenge & will make today more productive. My goals are to accomplish the errands from yesterday: pharmacy, grocery, vet, visit DMother.

Lilac - I hope your house sale works out. I know it can be nerve-wracking.

Twins' Mom - How exciting to watch your new home take shape. When do you expect it to be finished?

((Harriet)) It isn't easy to provide care for a parent, you do it with such grace. Don't forget to take care of yourself!

Waving to Booksaver and bittersweet. Hope you day is going well.

Next up - s2s & proceed from there........

Oh, there is Nancy! Good morning, glad you slept well.

Good morning! This is a challenging day for me. Tomorrow will be too. Friday I plan to crash!

My productivity so far this morning:

S2scurlers.
Made 1 lg and 1 small vegetable lasagna ready to bake.
Birthday cake baked cooling on rack almost ready for frosting.
All dishes done/dried/put away
Tablecloth on kitchen table changed to vinyl one. Grandma knows what's coming!
Hard boiled eggs made, ready for coloring eggs tonight with DGKids.
Moved stuff around in refrigerator and freezer to make room.
Plants and veg. garden watered.
Kitchen floor mopped again.

My back is feeling all this fast work. need to change clothes, fix hair, get tablecloth for dining room on, take out kitchen garbage overflowing. A few things to iron so I can put the board away. 1 LOL to fold and put away.

1st group of people here at lunch time.

I won't be grumpy or complain. I am happy to be seeing everyone. You guys sound like you have much worse situations to deal with, my life at the moment is peachey!
