Glad Harriet hasn't forgotten about Big Bang Theory!
We have a timer set.
We walked to the store for the mail. It was just freezing and there were snow flurries. A week ago today, I walked in one of my African dresses and was hot.

Re: Right Thoughts Thursday
Slug CI - I feel fine but I'm trying my best to follow recommendation to take it easy. This afternoon I forced myself to sit in the recliner with the TV on while drinking a second cup of coffee....turned out to not be the best of ideas. I fell asleep and woke up abruptly when i felt warm liquid (coffee) that had been dumped into my lap.
I changed clothes and returned to the recliner with a fresh cup of coffee that I made sure sat on the table next to me instead of holding it.
DParents came for a visit. DMom wanted to look at the gardens and porch furniture. DDad sat in the van next to where DH was working on lawn mower. DDad can only walk about 20' now and that is a huge effort for him. Thankfully his recliner and the van passenger seat are only about 10' from each other so he can still get out of the house for short trips.

Re: Right Thoughts Thursday
Looking forward to tomorrow! I can have my own routine/regimen (sort of). Miss dh but I realized that most of my days were cramped because of trying to get him to his walk as early as possible -mainly because of breathing problems. Then by the time we usually go home in the afternoon I was too tired to do those things that I would have liked to do in the morning. So now I can work in the house before I leave here most mornings. Have to figure out a different plan of attack for next winter. Perhaps it'll mean just letting dh go by himself and come back to get me. I walk much less than he does in the mornings and spend a good share of the time in the car reading. Have to see how these next few weeks go.
DH has called me a few more times -last was to ask where batteries were (we brought them with us I think) and told him if there were any they would be in the first 2 drawers of the 'hutch'. Of course the next question was: "What are you calling the hutch?"
He knew but had forgotten. My brain will soon be tired trying to think 1300 miles away.
DH and DS-A went to the hospital as soon as dh got in up home. DDIL's (DS-R) dad is in and they're evidently trying to keep him alive until ddil returns from their cruise. They do have a call in to the cruise line to notify them -but really what can they do from where they are? I'd almost rather see them be able to enjoy their days -think it's probably about over anyway. They left on Sunday and I'm sure it's 7 days at best -could be wrong.
Gd is going to spend Fri - Sun afternoon with a friend from school. Sure dd will enjoy the break. This mom understands a lot of gd's behavior so guess it will be good for her (gd).
Hitting the hay - nighters!

Re: Right Thoughts Thursday
Ran into problems just quickly making the no-bake cheesecake. Turns out the box of generic dessert topping I had, was a box of onion soup mix. No substitutions between those two!
I did have one envelop left so doubled the cream cheese, halved the topping and the volume looks about right. The cream cheese was cheap US stuff (your cream cheese is less than half the price of ours.) So I didn't mind using twice as much.
I need to do a border run for cream cheese, decaf tea and chicken. All, even not on sale, are a fraction of what we pay here.
Dd called to say she isn't pregnant with a due date in October. Sigh.... So now I'm freed up until the middle of October (I'll need to move out there a couple of weeks before the due date.) I'm getting scared that I'll have to spend Christmas out there which will be tough on ds.

Re: Right Thoughts Thursday
I have been away or rushing most all the day. Could barely get here and even now am not on the ball enough to respond to others well.
I had to return to the dr and he has put me on an antibiotic. This is the first time back on any since the great difficulties with it while trying to recover from pneumonia. I know the antibiotics pretty much saved my life then, but they were hard on me having to be on them over and over and eventually I think it became self-defeating. I hope this time will not be anywhere near such a problem. He says my glands are swollen, my throat red. I haven't really felt like myself, but thought the inhalers he put me on a week or two ago would be enough. Not until this a.m. did I realize I was going downhill with more symptoms.
He also had me get bloodwork done. With picking up the prescription and picking up dd, then, all in different directions I'm just tired. Thank goodness HRH was able to give me the time to go out for it all. He had to switch up some things, but told me to get this done because, "If you get sick I'm done for!" lol
I did have the presence of mind to call dd32 this evening while she was still awake. She said she was lying on the bed in her hotel room, but not yet ready for bed, so that was fine. She has been to 3 college venues so far this trip and in the morning checks out early to go to the last, where she will speak in two parts from 9 to noon. She had just found a YouTube video of Sesame Street muppets singing about "apps", which will serve as a new intro to her 1st-session "Mobile Apps for Instructor Productivity" seminar tomorrow. She sounds very excited about this round of teaching, but sorry about being away from home. little britches has a terrible case of diaper rash, and dsonil is evidently having a time trying to help him heal, so I know dd's heart is back home with them.

Re: Right Thoughts Thursday
Another day working in the yard. DH and friend took full trailer to dump this morning and we have it about 3/4 full again. The 5 big agave filled it quickly. Then DH trimmed another palo verde tree and wove those branches into the agave in the trailer.
I was able to drag the 5 agave I had pulled last week around to where the trailer would park while he was gone. Then I took the water pick and washed the sand and dirt off the roots to make then lighter. We used the tow strap and the Rhino to pull them up into the trailer.
The yard is looking very good now and the neighbors are stopping when we are out and commenting on it. DH was able to move quite a bit today and he didn't take any pain pills. He was hurting as we went for pizza but a short time resting in his big chair eased the ache in his back.
Tomorrow I'm hoping to remove some rocks that were under the old, over-grown agave and then plant some aloe there. This is the kind with tall red flowers and it looks quite nice in the yard. Stopped by a friend's house on the way home from pizza and she has some really pretty pink bell flowers and will give me some so those will go somewhere in the yard soon.
Time to hit the hay. Lots to do tomorrow as DBro is coming out for the weekend and the house needs to be spiffed.
Niters all.

Re: Right Thoughts Thursday
Kathryn, do you think your cream cheese is better than ours, since you pay more?
OKay, really happy to read your test went well and results good.
Hope you have an easier day tomorrow, Harriet. I'll bet all the stress in your life is making it tough for you to stay healthy. That's too bad.
I really thought DD and family would be coming in the morning so I didn't feel any rush...especially since I hadn't heard from her all day. Well, she finally called and they are on their way. Yikes! I had all my sewing dragged out and was working on the living room floor with the quilt taped to the floor as I pinned...and I had to rush through that and finish and get it all put away, plus all the other stuff I had out.
I put sheets back on 1 bed I hadn't gotten to, made the pull-out couch bed, and got the lamp back into middle guest room (I use this lamp at my sewing machine). Then I ran to the store. That was a real chore, I got a load of stuff but there were only 2 cashiers and one was also doing returns and the other was at the express aisle...so checkout took a while. I don't know how but somehow I got it all put away and my refrigerator is stuffed again.
Man I'm tired. Gonna sit in front of the TV until they get here.
