FRIDAY FIVE BY FIVE

Post by DeeClutter »

What five things will you accomplish by 5 o'clock today?
1) I have a DPC
2) find some more tax papers & ready them to mail to tax preparer
3) get the dishes done from today & yesterday
4) sort through the papers on top of my printer
5) get our large suitcase from the garage & begin packing the rest of dh's stuff
If I can get those 5 done it will make a pretty significant dent in my to-do l**t.

6) Also need to transfer some funds to dh's checking account.

Harriet, hope your day is better today and that your weekend is more stress-free for you.

Off to shower, dress, etc. I've been up since 4:10 -just couldn't sleep and couldn't get comfortable. I see a nap in my future this afternoon. Forgot dsonil is home today so some of what I planned to do in the main area of the house won't get done this morning. Have to be at church to help with the bulletin about 9:30,......so I'm OFF!
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

Hmmm 5 x 5...

1. make pickled carrots
2. make apple quick bread
3. check grocery list to be delivered tomorrow
4. wait for oxygen delivery
5. go through loose recipes

I sould be finished with those by noon. If done early then I'll add something from next weeks list.

This afternoon I'll knit and read.

You have plenty to keep you busy Dee.

Jake and I watched the ducks this morning on our walk.

Having taken a quick peek at the thread from two years ago, it seems I was doing pretty much the same as today...critter care, laundry, housework, and a full day at the puppy prison!

This morning I'm a bit stiff and sore from the hike along the park trails yesterday. It was only half an hour, but shows me just how out of shape I've gotten!

Time to get moving and deal with the critters...then it's off to work for me.

Five by five......

Payroll (done at 6, actually)
2 more phone calls re: seed donations
Print off articles for dMum
Start outline for next Toastmasters speech
Pay rent

A while ago today checking back the car broke down in the store parking lot; the bit-hy checker no longer works there that gave us such a hard time about the car being there for the day.

Harriet I thought of you last night when I saw BBT & heard Spock on there knew what you were talking about! LOL!

My 5
1. qt x journaling x / after school home work help dgson will be here.
2. Pick up creativity room a hot spot from yesterday;
toys are now in the toy box. x
3. breakfast & s2s x
4. Fold laundry x
5. ex. might have to be on the ex. bike as it's raining again here today. x

OMM: Next week; will be busy in a diff. way I'm so glad the Open house and Realtor's tour are both over. Ddgs #1 & 2 will be here a couple of days during the day and dgd#3 for the day or over night on the weekend.

There is a big cross lit on the hill where we live this time of year and a big star at Christmas time.

Good morning! Well, it is finally done. My Russian visa application materials are complete and in a Fedex envelope ready to be delivered to the Fedex office at lunchtime. All I did besides payroll yesterday was art class. I finished a dogwood and started a rose. The dogwood came out well, I may frame it. Tonight, DD10 goes to Alabama with XDH, so I have a childfree weekend. I am eating lunch with a friend and we may do some knitting (her) and crochet (me). Tonight I should probably spray weeds. It's going to be a long weekend, I hope I don't get mopey because I am not in Alabama. The event is that XDH's parents are renewing their vows, my parents are going to be there as well.

I don't have a list of 5. Just spraying the weeds will be enough. March 30, 2009 I do not know what I was doing. I am not sure I had even found this board yet. I do know I was still married, I thought happily, XDH apparently thought otherwise.

It was interesting to read the posts from 3 years ago todday to see what everyone was doing and some names we haven't seen in a long time. Harriet I think you mentioned that yesterday about Lurkylou.

Good morning, villagers ~
This place has been hopping the past few days!
Indiana ~ It's lovely to see you posting so often.
Thank goodness HRH was able to give me the time to go out for it all. He had to switch up some things, but told me to get this done because, "If you get sick I'm done for!"
Confirming once again that HRH is a wise man!

Yesterday was errand day and one of those errands was to visit an old friend in a nursing home. She had a serious stroke several months ago. It is heartbreaking to see that even though physically she has made a miraculous recovery, her mental acuity will never return.

As I told DH, it was very obvious that half of the time she was not "there" -- talking about the children who live in her closet and the cat who sleeps with her at night. The other half of the time I could not tell if she was actually taking cognizant part in the conversation, or if she can just fake it really well.

I am comforted by the fact that she is in a wonderful facility, very clean with constant attention from plentiful medical staff. So far, she has a private room, and it is filled with decorations from her grandchildren. No tv but I saw the current newspaper and lots of her favorite music CDs.

After that visit, I was glad to have a long list of errands to fill the rest of the afternoon. I also had a gift certificate for a clothing consignment store, and was lucky enough to find 3 pretty tops, new with the original store tags still attached.

Last night I "watched" Big Bang Theory, working on the computer which faces away from the TV. I recorded the show so I can actually see the whole thing later tonight. I still have Tuesday's Dancing with the Stars results show to zip through, too, although I know who was eliminated.

My 5x5:
* launder donated fabric for charity projects
* clean kitchen
* confirm sewing group meeting programs for July & August
* clear horizontal space for cutting mat
* collect burnables in a bin next to the chiminea so if the wind dies down, we can have a fire tonight or tomorrow

I like the 5x5 idea. Hmmm, let's see. Can I count what I have already accomplished, since I was late logging on?

1. One load of laundry - ready to be folded & put away

2. Another load of laundry

3. Look for daunt's death certificate (she passed away in 1997) so I can start on the application for unclaimed property.

4. Call state about said application, need clarification

5. Look for 2011 bank statements so I can start on my taxes

Yesterday, I had lunch with a dfriend/former co-worker. It was good to catch up with her. Ate too much, but that's another story....

I have no idea what I was doing three years ago. Probably about the same as now, if I had to guess.

Oh, this is such a smart thread topic - please forgive me for I am not even CUOP through yesterday, though.

I have gotten to Sadie's question and wanted to respond with this link from the first of last month that mentions soap following sun exposure. As far as how long this is true, I believe that there's nothing left for the skin to work with 48 hours after exposure anyway, and there's probably been very little in the hours just before then, but I don't know how soon the great percentage of work is finished - I would think the most is over within hours, though, as it is on a constant decline???

Obviously, this article is another that is very sobering to me and to HRH regarding thyroid. :| The dr tested both me AND dd yesterday, to get a D level on dd at the end of winter and before she gets much summer sun, just to have a baseline. Now, with dd having her first-ever test, insurance did not cover, but I find this a reasonable trade-off for our family.

Btw, I feel a little better, maybe. I slept hard last night and I believe I breathed through my mouth a lot and awakened with a bad sore throat which seems to have left me by now. I am taking probiotics and have already had a serving of yogurt, lol. Yes, 20 mins outside sunbathing like a lump rather than accomplishing anything but felt like it was warming and at least something I could "do".
