Getting my long acting Insulin today was very upsetting for me I had some state card that knocked a few $ off b/c I have no ins. it is for generic Rx now for some unknown reason I found out it was not active; the other card was not either. So what was $104 when I first started getting it is now $127 I had to borrow ten from H. of his bday dollars! I hate that I had to do that! Gr-r! {Sniff sniff had me a few tears shed in the rest room before I came home and again on my walk. It's one of those hormonal times I think.} Winds are howling outside now and it's been raining my walk was blustery but I'm sure the fresh air did not hurt any.

This morning got the middle bit of yarn on the current project working on the last ball of it now! Yea for progress.

Made some de-cluttering progress got some things in the trunk and delivered today on our rounds.

Well I've had several melt downs today so it's got to be hormonal or the rain! LOL!

Does anyone have a recipe for homemade spaghetti sauce? The one I'm thinking of was made by my best friend's mom and I had it for years -but also haven't made it in years. Remember it having a canned prepared sauce (chef boy ar dee actually) and then probably tomato puree and tomato paste, seasonings. She made meatballs and cut up italian sausage in it and cooked them raw in the sauce all day. It was so good and I have such a craving to make it again. Perhaps the recipe is up north, but I'd have no idea where to look. Thinking I can make up one of my own, but just not quite sure what went in it.

(((Nancy))) hear you loud and clear. Just finished my latest 'go round' with the med co, but think it's working its way out now. Should not be this hard to get meds and I do have insurance at least for now.

Had my letter today from credit company re: them investigating my claim to be reiumbursed for the 2 airline tickets for the now defunct airline. However I also read this morning that several million dollars seem to be missing from the escrow account which was to pay customers for unuseable tickets. So, we will see. Worse things could happen. Not going to spend time worrying about it.

DD's on her way home from the hairdresser and then we're going out for dinner. Don't have gd this weekend -she's staying with a friend. So it'll be some time of relaxation for all of us. She'll probably be fine with this particular Mom. As long as she doesn't come home with pink hair or a piercing.

Dee I use tom. sauce; canned toms. w/ Italian seasoning for spaghetti these days I've been using spaghetti squash. If you do not have Italian seasoning in toms. I got some Italian seasoning at W-mart and add that; it's good on roast too!

Dgson was a no show so we are waiting to see if we need to go get him from their house or if his dad is going to be home from early b/c of the rain we had today here. It's still blustery out now too. Having a Mon. tomorrow has GOT to get better!

Well, DMother's busy schedule didn't allow for a leisurely ride. She was expecting a visit from a granddaughter & two great-grandsons, ages 4 & 2. No way a measly ride could trump that, and rightly so! Also I forgot it is her day to get her hair done.

So, I called the Unclaimed Property Division & found out what I need to do. I ended up ordering my daunt's death certificate. $15 for the certificate & $11 for a processing fee or something. I may break even on this deal. At this point, I just want it off my mind and my "to-do" list. Thanks to Indiana & Harriet for suggestions. I was the the next of kin, person the funeral home worked with, etc., but I think they provided x number of certificates at the time & any additional ones would need to be ordered from the state. I still think I should have some somewhere......

Lost count of the loads of laundry, but have done several. The only thing left on my 5x5 is to search for last year's bank statements. Once again I am vowing that next year will be different.

Dee, I imagine if you g oogle "homemade spaghetti sauce" you will have your choice of recipes. The one you used to make sounds like it would be a tough act to follow, however.

I am off to home. I will use up a thing of weed killer then take a shower. It's Friday night, shouldn't I be partying or something? Maybe I will declutter something and work on the bathtub. I need to get some feeling of accomplishment. I also need to get together another crochet project in case my friend and I do some craft work tomorrow.

The chili supper was fine - I managed to not have to do any work except cut up my desserts at the beginning and then amuse children from time to time. The chilis were good, I tried three plus a stew that was there.

I got cranky at choir because I was so exhausted. As well, the Easter anthem I have practiced all week is not the one we'll do after all. The new one isn't too difficult except we have to jump around from the end to the beginning and then jump to a different ending. So it isn't instinctive. There are too many high notes, even for our minister (who is closer to a true soprano) so she'll hit a couple of high F's while I hit C's. Ideally the music has an A for the altos to hit there but it is easier for me to find the C.

Anyway, my voice got worn out on that and my jaw got really sore and we still hadn't practiced the anthem for this Sunday. Then someone else wanted our musician to go over all the hymns we are doing this Sunday (9 of them) which further wore out my voice and jaw and I got a rather whiny, partly because ds was waiting for us at home to watch a movie.

Tomorrow we have the musicians boys almost all day - from 8:40 until at least 1:30, possibly later depending on how the funeral she is playing at goes. They have bowling each Saturday morning and then drum lessons for one of them so we'll be on the run like regular parents again.

So you won't see me until later in the day.

I left the bigger countertop oven (that's a better description than toaster oven) out and dh looked at it when he got here. Then we worked on placement and have decided to move all the mugs (which hang from hooks under the upper cupboard) and put it where the old toaster oven was. It is almost 4x as big (wider, deeper and higher) but fits there and doesn't look as imposing as it did in other spots. It also hide the mixer well (and the mixer has to be out on the counter because it is too big to go in my cupboards.)

So now I have both countertop ovens packed up, ready to be returned. I'll replace the dented one with a good one. The reviews I've read are all exemplary except for a potential problem with the temp being too low. But that I can easily check for. The oven has a 5 year warranty and dials instead of electronic buttons so I suspect it will last a lot longer than the B&D one that is the second choice. In all ways it is the better choice so I'll spring for the extra $55. What's frustrating is in the US, it is only $20 more than the B&D so I know I'm getting ripped off just because I'm buying it here in Canada.

There's a load of laundry on now so I have to stay up until it is done.

I've found my missing pen which makes me feel a little bit better.

I've updated the google calendar. Dh was grumpy because he was trying to set up a breakfast meeting on Tuesday and I pointed out that I'd have to come because my volunteering doesn't open until 9. He was planning the meeting for 7:30 so couldn't just drop me off at Presbytery. Then he tried for the following day but my ultrasound wasn't on the calendar (the appointment was made between my running around today so I didn't get it on yet.)

I eventually pointed out that we needed to rent a car for a day or two since we are being pulled in different directions. That's OK, we are saving over $500 a year not owning a second car (not to mention the additional expense of actually buying a car in the first place) so to spent $40 a day on a second car for a couple of days is reasonable. That was our plan in the first place but somehow that got lost in his mind.

The original experiment was for one year without a second car but it has not been 2.5 years and still no major problems. We either take turns, go together (and wait for the other) or get rides from others. Despite living so far from anything, one car has worked just fine. Dh even has gone over a week, stuck at home with no car, twice.

no rain today - wow. Its been a while since that was true. Often theres a sneaky shower at some stage.
2 loads washing - still to come in. Sheets from yesterday still to be folded/away too
Neighbours boy (and his 2 mates) came over to do my yard. I still have lots of jungle spaces. around the edges. I picked up a lot of braches to make it easier. I gave a bit more as the 3 of them worked annd I had a fair idea of how long.
Made a cooked lunch as I've been lousy at cooking dinner last couple of days.
