Today will complete the first 1/4 of 2012 -how IS that possible?

I've been up since 5am and completed 30 minutes of sorting/filing. I'm trying to schedule that long each morning BEFORE I come here -hoping to get through lots of papers (anything paper!) by the time I need to get ready to head north. Just carrying too much back & forth that I THINK I'll get to while I'm in one place or the other.

DD has left for her day at the airport for classes and to watch the air show. During "Sun 'n Fun" this is the busiest airport in the country for this week of March. I may go over to the mall & sit to watch the Thunderbirds this afternoon. DD will be in a 'drawing' among teachers for a flight in an aeronautics team. It dawned on her last night that she wouldn't have qualified last year -she was too heavy. She's now lost about 55 lbs. since we arrived in November. Wish I could say I'd lost even a 10th of that. Proud of her!

I've made the bed and had my meds. Just peeked at the Med Co site and saw that my most recent ones were shipped yesterday! Hopefully (by sending in written prescriptions) now we can keep things on an even keel.

Hadn't thought about renting a car, Kathryn. I'll have to keep that in the back of my mind. There are times! Right now dh is using one of DS-A's trucks but can't for very long. Then he'll be using the car of the campground owner's stepmom. She's down here right now and has macular degeneration so doesn't drive anyway.

I'm up...and that's about it. Other than letting Tommy Troublemaker out and having a cup of coffee, I've accomplished prezackly zilch so far this morning! This is not good, as I have to be out the door in less than half an hour, the critters aren't done, and I'm not dressed!

The first quarter of this year was a tough one for me. Now it is bright skies all the way. I keep getting comments on how good to look compared to the last several months.

Jake and I have gotten 2 walks in this morning and my groceries that were delivered are put away. I'll make broccoli salad later. It is a new one I want to try. I'll make egg salad later and cook bacon to freeze.

You may notice me doing things around the boards - all is well we (mods) are just doing some clean up.

Today is going to be puttering.

It is a beautiful morning here. Breakfast and dishes done. Now we are going for a desert ride with DBro.

My body really aches from all the abuse I've put it thru this week. I think I would really like to just sit in my big chair and let the boys go on a ride. I'll run it past them and see if it flies.

I'm up bs is up today after it took a dive last night before bed. So I took meds. went back to bed checked my #'s again had to take more sigh no breakfast for me having some tea. QT is done. Journaling up next. Kitchen spiff done from last night. So at least I'm consistent starting off each quarter doing the thing about the blood sugar.
update: bs is back in my target range just in time for brunch yea!

The weather is great here this morning. Thinking about my day. Trying to get a plan maybe I can do that while I'm journaling. I'd like to work on my crochet project it's fun now that I"m working with some other colors.

Found out Via FB our church is hosting a concert but it's at a diff. church b/c they hold more people. My son and dgds are going. Interesting that I don't hear about this stuff at church. I do like how the churches seem to work together doing this they, have done this before.

Now I'm looking up that group dgds are going to hear.

Good morning, villagers ~

My 5x5 yesterday was only a moderate success. I ended up spending most of the afternoon playing phone and Email tag, trying to set up educational programs for my sewing group. I was able to get all arranged through December, except August which is tentatively settled but needs confirmation. I will be glad to cross that major task off my list.

This morning I've been able to do some cleaning in the kitchen.

Also placed an order with B&N that seemed to take forever. The friends of the library group is having a "book fair" there today, which I want to support but don't want to drive to The Big City. It's very nice that they give a code for online orders. There was a place to enter the code but no confirmation that it was valid, so I'm just taking it on faith that my library will get the credit.

I ordered 2 books and a music CD that I've wanted for awhile that were all on sale on the website this weekend, added a discount code for 15% off the highest-price item, qualified for free shipping, and a donation will be sent to my library. I kind of doubt that either of the books would have been in stock at the store, plus I would have used a bunch of gas to drive there, so online was definitely the way to go.

DH agreed with me that it's time to burn some stuff, but it looked like it was going to rain last night so we put it off until later today. He wants to mow first. We've had several days of unseasonably warm temperatures alternating with back to cold spring, so all vegetation is thoroughly confused. It is not supposed to be windy this evening, and then it is supposed to rain tomorrow. We should be able to relax with a little fire in the back yard tonight.

Wow, I didn't realize it had been that long, Indiana. Yes, I've been lurking quite awhile, more so the last couple of years. I decided that I would start to post so I could add my 2 cents worth, as it were. Not that what I have to say is worth that much most of the time. I do enjoy the camaraderie here. I used to post on the "other" board, but for one reason or another I don't anymore. Nothing major, just life changes for me & it didn't seem like "home" anymore.

I really can't remember what the circumstances were when I joined. Maybe it was from CEO's board, I do remember her.

I just read that someone from northeast KS has one of the three winning lottery tickets. That is were I live, but no, it isn't I! I can't imagine having that much money. It might be more trouble than it is worth.

I did pretty well with my 5x5 yesterday. The laundry continues today. I'm determined to get to the bottom of each and every basket, no more waiting for partial loads, or for inspiration to strike!

Kally - I'm so glad you started posting. We are "almost" neighbors (our states are next door to each other)

I woke up and hour early this morning but made myself lay there until I feel back asleep. Ended up sleeping an hour past my normal rising time. :0 I was still able to get most important things done before 9am so was pleased with morning effort. LO and I went to several local garage sales for an hour and came home with the little car packed. At a couple of the garage sales, they were almost giving away the stuff!
New luggage (4 pieces) = $10
4 new shirts for LO = $2
new sound system for living room = $10
New game system for LO = $5
4 new toys for LO = $2

I mowed an hour on the yard, but didn't get very much done. Twice during that hour I stopped mowing because people pulled in the driveway and wanted to visit. As I'm mowing an area of the yard I am raking and hauling it to the garden. We have a mower with a bagger but it seems to be easier to do it this way. >>>shrugging shoulders<<< probably not but all this raking/loading/pulling/unloaded is certainly good exercise for me! ha!

It's a nice day here, too, even though it's cloudy/overcast. We may have a shower; we could use the rain!

It is amazing to think that one quarter of another year has gone by. It seems the older I get the faster time passes. A lot has happened in my family, indeed in all our lives here, since the beginning of the year. For myself, the best I can do is take one thing at a time plan around it and work through it!

Ds#2 came from work Thurs and worked on our bathroom. It is now functioning properly again! We are so blessed and thankful to have dson want to help us!

Dee, I'm glad your dh made it home all right. My sympathies you ds & ddil/family for the loss of her dfather.

Sadie, I'm glad your back is feeling better; and hope the treatments continue to help. Also that treatments help your dh.

Hope Helia and family are having a nice time on their trip.

MT, you and dh have been working so hard on your yard...I hope you get some nice r & r and have a good visit with dbro.

OKay, it's good to hear your procedure went well.

I worked in the front yard yesterday. The grass doesn't need mowed yet, but the weeds are growing well! I got most of the fallen leaves from neighbor's tree raked up. I'll run the mower tomorrow morning and it will be good for another couple of weeks.

Well, this sat here for a while when I went to shower and dress. We're going to dfam#1 this afternoon. Ds has to work till 5 pm and ddil can't drive. She had a bout with ovarian cysts and was in ER yesterday, now still on pain pills. We're bringing apple pie and cupcakes for dessert!

Our dining room table is the catchall place for odds 'n ends. So I have a load of towels to fold and some mail/papers to sort through before we leave. Thinking about others here and hope you all are having a good day. We've having a much needed rain shower at the moment; raining hard, but no thunder.
