Lucy, in watching the three kids together, dd's roommate is very clingy with the boyfriend and I'm thinking she's probably feeling threatened by dd's relationship with N, which is much like I see with dd and her brother and with ds's friend Z. DD pointed out to me last night that she's known N for 5 years - he helped her get through her freshman math so even tho they haven't had a romantic relationship they know each other well.

LucyLee - I think you are a marvelous teacher who obviously puts in much time and effort to prepare & present the material to the student in a way they can understand.

Decision time is fast approaching on LO schooling. Enrollment is next month for the public school 4 year old program and we are getting plenty of input about what we should do. The more I check into it, the decision is becoming easier to make. If we send him to the public school he would be picked up on a bus in front of our home at 7:15am and ride it for 45 minutes. When the bus arrived at the school, he would get off that bus and get onto another bus to be taken to the preschool program 13 miles away. The reverse busing would happen to get him back home. That is over 2 hours daily spent on the bus each day with 1.5 hours of it spent on overcrowded bus where the little ones have to sit on the big kids laps. Most his friends parents consider that acceptable and look at me like I'm an over protective Nana for not being willing to put him through that. We could drive him to public school preschool program instead of riding the bus but that would mean adding 400 miles a week of driving (20 miles each way x 2 trips = 80 miles daily).

I'm with you OKay. Too much time on the bus for a 4 yo. Even a 5 yo. You are doing well with Home School plus he has big Bros and kids at church and library for socialization.

Just finished the front and side yard except for raking. Hauled 2 Rhino loads of rocks, made a new wall, filled it in with dirt, transplanted 11 aloe plants and watered.

Time for a nap and a whole lot of liquid. Brisk breeze plus almost 80 equals dehydration!!

OKay I agree that is too much time on a bus. As MT said he gets social time with kids.

Thank you, OKay, for the reassurance, and ditto other comments re: bus time. Waaay too much time for a 4-5 year old. Much too crowded bus. I would not want to do that w/my child, either. And you are obviously doing a wonderful job w/home schooling.

I spent 30 minutes in master bath, just cleaning out/organizing papers stuck in card file & Bible... but it was a much needed task.
Walked 2.4 miles.
Talked to dmom on phone.

Back from choir and visiting. I think I remembered to do everything. We've changed the book we'll sing the first hymn from (the hymn is roughly the same, just the original, politically incorrect words, calling God He.) So I put up the hymn numbers and left a note that I had done so. Plus left a note for the minister.

The basement is cleared up from last night and I remembered to bring the muffins from the freezer to my house (they'll be used at the breakfast after my sunrise service.)

My visit went well but she is starting that long fail. For the past almost 24 months she's been suffering from psoriasis which is so bad she has bouts of depression and the treatments are free under our health care system but the transportation to/from the hospital, 3x a week, costs $300 per month she doesn't really have which adds to the depression/worry.

She is morbidly obese and fell 2 weeks ago. She thought she was just bruised but since she hadn't improved and now her arm/shoulder was bad, she went to the ER yesterday. They x-rayed and confirmed a slightly torn rotator cuff but just a bruised knee. They said to rest and be patient. She's been using her arms more to lift herself, hence the sore shoulder. A neighbour had an electric seat lifter so she is using that, plus a walker. Luckily, as people die at this rent-geared-to-income apartment building, their assistive devices are put into storage so when another senior needs them they are available. On their own, most couldn't afford wheelchairs, etc. I'm going to look for a toilet seat extension since she can't use her own bathroom right now but is going down the hall to use the common one.

We are home now, and I should be getting the service finished up. Just the prayers left to right and then to edit the sermon. I managed to get the bulletin draft finished before I left for choir.

Good afternoon everyone! DD10 surprised me this morning with an announcement that there was no school! Fortunately, her daycare was available, but more advance knowledge would have been helpful. I took her to lunch as she does not like the food there and they do not allow outside food. Last night I had fixed her a school lunch, which may end up going to waste. On the way to lunch I got a call about a feral cat that 2 people want me to try taming for 3 weeks. If she is angry and snarly, I can most likely tame her. If she is scared, it takes longer. The problem is that this is not a cat with the organization I work with and there could be political ramifications to taking it. Also, on the way to lunch, my purse broke and I had to get another one. It was a perfect purse that held no more than I should carry. Its replacement is somewhat larger. After work, I need to get some stuff for DD's Easter. I have not done anything because she has been staying with me. I need to get it done before the 7:00 Good Friday church service.

My house is a disaster. I never have enough time to do much when I have DD at nights. I have a LOL still needing to be put away, along with a bunch of clothes my mom sent me (not hand me downs, new, she likes to shop). I have many checks to enter in Quicken and many weeds to spray.

Just got overnight company for 2 nights. House is a mess. But I'm not going to care - they didn't let me know until 2 hours before they got here.
