I think LO's time is much too valuable for that at 4 years of age. OKay, is the 45-min trip the one to the public school which he would attend for Kindergarten when he is five? Or will there be a closer school for that? We have been blessed to have dd in school a mile or so from the house for 4 years. As she begins next year, the larger high school is probably 4 miles away, but the morning traffic near to it at bell time can be a slow crawl, and the afternoon wait in line can be long too. So my time there and back will be variable and could be much longer than the distance would suggest. I just thought I'd mention you might want to sometime ride by his eventual school about the times you'd expect to be driving him, to help judge your time expense. It's been my experience that most people in our community have no idea of the absolute clog that happens in front of the schools at the magic morning and afternoon bell times. Of course, high schools are the notorious ones, and elementary usually a little better, depending upon which coincides with work traffic.
I did get to the 2 pharmacies, the bank and the healthy grocery. I bought some of their chicken and also a pound of their regular (as opposed to grass-fed) ground beef, which the butcher took from the case and wrapped for me in brown butcher paper. Although the ground beef is not lean, it is certified to be free of hormones, chemicals, additives, etc. The ground beef was $3.99 per pound. Don't you think that is really a marvelous value, or am I too easily impressed?
At the bank's automated outdoor thingie, I was having trouble rolling down the crank window of the truck. The man at the teller window, at a distance, lower elevation, and on the other side of the truck, commented on my difficulty. I found that weird - I don't want to hear that they have cameras that are looking down at my activities inside my vehicle. dd13 immediately started looking around and found the "hidden" cameras, and yes they look down into the vehicles. Ick.
lucylee, you are doing great lately and getting a lot done. Happy for you getting walks in.

I've scratched the rolls off the menu plan for tonight and Sunday. DH requested that we return to hard core LC eating because his BS is out of whack and he feels yucky because of it. We have been eating out more which involves lots of carbs lately but I didn't want to be the one to tell him he needed to stop it. I've been waiting for him to make this decision. I'm glad to see he is ready and willing to eat what is necessary to make him feel better.
Furniture has been moved around to make room for everyone tonight. Drinks and LC snacks are ready to serve.

We don't have stop lights in our town so two police cars/persons manually direct traffic twice a day to help with the flow of school traffic. They have it down to a fine art and keep it moving along. However, the sheer volume is sometimes overwhelming and it's not unusual for cars to be lined up for a mile to get into the school parking lot.
Okay; I'm with you about the bus; our 3rd grade dgson still misses the buss a LOT and we still worry about him when he is not where he's supposed to be like at home when he's supposed to be here!

Spent the day with dgds & walked with them while they walked their dogs. Took another walk with #2 dgd saw the goats while we did that used the umbrellas and were gald for the protection b/c it hailed a bit and rained some too. They are relaxing watching cable a treat for them as neither parents have it.
I don't have a lot to report for the last few hours.
I did bring the sheets off the line and since they were wrapped around by the wind, that was a project. I folded them and the load of laundry from the dryer, then put all that away plus the two loads on the drying rack in the spare room. Also moved the rack to the exercise room. Just a couple more things to put away in there and the room will be company ready.
Dh made a dinner for himself (pasta with cream sauce and mushrooms) and I made up a frozen lasagna for myself. Then we watched an episode of Leverage but I ironed while we watched. There were way more clothes to iron than I thought so it took over the 45 minutes of tv. Those are now all hung up. The iron and board need to be returned to the exercise room but I'll wait for the iron to cool down. Ironing in the living room worked really well, much to my surprise.
Now I'm physically exhausted but still have writing to do. I'd like to get everything finished before bed and even printed off if possible.
I don't feel like I'm doing great OR getting ANYTHING done, Harriet, but thanks for the encouragement.
The music thing was good, enjoyed seeing dfriends and I think it helped dh relax a little. His stomach has been bothering him a bit today, however, and he hopes he's not coming down with a virus -- dbil reportedly was very sick a few days ago, but dh hasn't been around him since he (dbil) developed symptoms. Of course, sometimes you're contagious before you know you're sick.
Wondering what our Easter plans are. Ds & ddil are staying here, mainly for dmil's sake, but I don't know if we're planning Sunday dinner together or not. Will need to visit my parents, also.
I think I'll go to bed and read for a while. Tomorrow is going to start early. DH has to be @ the church @ 8:30 a.m. (Visitation begins @ 9:00 a.m.)
Laughing at Harriet's faint at my house guests. You have to realize RVers are different. We bring our houses with us and do not expect the host to offer anything other than an electric cord and a water hose. Units are self contained.
We did, however, go get carry out pizza altho guest offered to cook dinner. Tomorrow morning's breakfast will be at the activities center and I don't know about the rest.

Whew what a day. Began when DH tried to take a shower and the big heavy glass door fell off. We have a stationery glass panel the glass door is hinged to and that panel's attachment failed. In taking it all apart, DH found a less-than-perfect installation done when we originally had this done. It was all morning to fix plus 2 trips out to stores, and all the while I was waiting for the car to go grocery shopping for dfamily coming.
I finally got that all done, but family was here before I was with the groceries and DH had fed them all beans and hot dogs. I guess they didn't starve.
By the way, Lucylee, we've known for at least a year that glass panel was beginning to cause the door to sag a bit...you're not the only one who procrastinates on house projects!
I'm so glad I made my chicken stew last night, I did not have to cook much, only the rice today. DH bribed the kids with a sweet if they cleaned their plates and you wouldn't believe all the chicken and carrots that got eaten!
Kids were a little rambunctious so we took them to the close beach for a couple hours' swim...in water a little frigid for me, but I got in for a short while. Multiple go fish card games kept them engaged but calm, and a short bonfire where we ate popcorn was ok until they were to energized to sit still. Sigh...they are finally all in bed exhausted, I'm going too in a minute.
Harriet, I appreciate having someone to bounce this health situation off. Bran cereal should help, but I'm getting increasingly unable to process anything timely and the bran doesn't seem to help any more. I'm very tired of dealing with this...I've upped my veggies and fruit (grapes and applesauce) but nothing seems to help. You wouldn't believe what I took when I had the major upset the other day and by the next day I could hardly tell I'd taken anything. I'm sorry your DDad is making your social contacts difficult. I'm sure people must understand, be able to size up the situation and realize things just aren't normal and not be concerned for the inpropriety (sp?) of it all.
OKay, I wouldn't put LO through that bus thing either. Not even his own seat? I can't imagine. MT you sound like a great relaxed hostess.
