I've now s2s. Service is in my binder and ready for tomorrow morning. I have to wait until this evening to test making the resurrection rolls because I can't save the dough, it must be cooked up once the package is opened. Which also means we'll be having crescent rolls with dinner tonight!

My sister is due to arrive in 3 hours so I need to light a fire under myself and get some major tidying done. Plus the kitchen floor washed if there is time. Then we have to do grocery shopping on the way to the train station since I don't have a chicken for tonight's dinner.

** DONE! It took SIX hours of shopping with DGS14 to do it, but he now has enough school clothes to not need to wash during the week. Also finally found his graduation clothes (dress pants, dress shirt and vest) which required being measured by a stranger (he really didn't like that part but LOVED the clothes that resulted from it).
** DONE! Listening to DGS14 talk in earnest about several issues that he is currently dealing with.
** DONE! Ate out 2 times with DGS14 (shopping is exhausting!)
** DONE! Picked up tax papers from CPA. Wrote 4 checks (CPA, IRS, state & quarterly) and sent them on their way. 2011 Taxes are officially taken care of!!
** DONE! Filled Easter eggs for tomorrow.

I didn't say this morning that my dmom was the same way to get everything done early. When she spent the summers with her grandmother she was the same way. Hmmm

I made some discoveries and I'm going to do some experimenting.

Discoveries keep skin on to cook potatoes for potato salad. The potato retains more nutrients.

Tide has a new form of detergent - pods. They are little pods that have the soap in them so you don't need to pour and measure. Peapod sells them for about $4.00 more than the liquid for about the same number of loads but for me it will save lifting the heavy bottle. I still have a partial bottle and a full one to go through first.

Experiment I have a potato I need to use so I'm going to make potato salad but instead of the mayonnaise I'm going to use my vinaigrette salad dressing will they are warm to soak into the potatoes. I'll have it tomorrow with my shrimp and asparagus salad.

I can't go to dinner yet because of the swelling in my leg but it is going down. It is from the cut and stitches.

I was able to do a little hand-sewing today. Glad to get to a point that I could do that.

OKay, your dgs is lucky to have you! That's a long day.

Hope the swelling subsides quickly now, Indiana. Yes, if you weigh your options, sometimes being frugal isn't as valuable as being efficient. You have to look at your own situation and ask what's the most important.

Kally, dd and I will probably have to leave the house at 6:45 or 6:50 every morning to be certain we get her to school on time. If she has everything completely ready the night before and plans simple, fast breakfasts, I can see how we could get up at 6:15. That's do-able - I've certainly had it worse - but still difficult on snow/ice days in the dark, since no garage, and no dh at that hour, since his schedule will be completely different. I can handle this by moving bedtime up to 10:30 but she will be a teenager with greater sleep needs - I'd say she's going to have to go back to 9 or 9:30 bedtime! Another new experience will be that she'll get OUT of school at 2:15.

It feels so nice to be back in the village after being away for ten days or so. Had a fun visit with my dfriend, then life got a little busy.

I enjoyed reading everyones responses on todays discussion about patterns. My ideal pattern is to get up early, walk, have breakfast, & start my daily routine. However :P , my ideal does not happen on a regular basis. Some weeks I walk every day, others not at all. And all it takes is one late night to turn me into a night owl (who then gets up late the next day). If I don't set an alarm I automatically wake up after 8 hours, give or take 15 minutes. Last summer dh & I got up at 6:30 to beat the heat by walking early & that gave me lots of energy for the rest of the morning. I think we napped pretty frequently, though, in the afternoons. I only exercised one day when dfriend was here, & haven't since she left on Wed. I often have trouble getting my momentum back like this.

In the back of my mind I still remember Pam & Peggy stating that 10:00AM is the crossroads for the day in terms of order & productivity. I've noticed personally that when I put on sneakers I feel energized, move faster & get more done, even if I don't exercise that day. I would like to be a consistent early bird because I know I'm more productive that way. With warmer weather here to stay I'm going to reach for that goal again.

My sympathies to Harriet & family on having school start at 7:15 AM this fall! Definitely coax dd into evening showers. Years ago I worked a 7AM to 3PM job & remember getting up at 5AM to shower. After a few weeks I started showering at night to gain an extra half hour of sleep. I also remember that if didn't have lights out by 9:30PM I was sooooo sleepy the next day! Even back then I needed eight hours of sleep.

Dcat is rubbing against my leg & meowing, asking for his dinner. Usually it is ddog who pesters us when it is mealtime, but she is sound asleep.

Have a good evening everyone! :)

What time will dd get out of school, Harriet? 7:15 sounds sooo early for students. I have to be at school @ 7:30, but I don't think our homeroom bell rings until about 7:45 or 7:50.

In addition to the funeral and other reception, and a trip to CVS, I have napped a little and made hotel reservations online for a trip our first weekend when school is out for summer. That will be something to look forward to.
Then dh started asking about a festival we usually go to, 3 weeks before ddil's due date. I sorta hesitated, saying perhaps we should not be out of town the same time as ds that close to due date. DH does NOT agree. He has felt sooo confined to his dad over all these past years, he is very anxious not to be tied down now. * sigh * So... I guess if ds thinks it is okay for us to go, we'll go. It will only be for a couple of nights. * sigh * I'm going to be a very anxious grandmother2B by then.

Waving to all...
Sadie, I'm sorta on a midnight to 6 schedule. But as we can see from my experience this past week, that's not working out for me very well. As Harriet mentioned, night owl tendencies of dh GREATLY influence my own sleep patterns.
I've GOT to do better.
In summer, my ideal routine would be to walk immediately upon awakening, then s2s, then follow the cards.
Of course, ideal and real are two very different things.

Kally -- my ddad shares that "early to bed, early to rise" philosophy, too. I'm sure he thinks dh & I are perfect bums. He also is sure our habits are extremely unhealthy. His sister, however, lives like us -- although she IS much more productive in her waking hours than I am (but she has no husband to schedule around!) He worries about her health, too!

WTG, OKay!!! You had a VERY productive day!

Waving to Twins, Kathryn, Indiana, Dove... and EVERYONE ELSE!!! Hope y'all have a very happy Easter.
Tomorrow is another day.

I just wanted everyone to know I'm headed to bed! :D

lucylee, I hope dh doesn't come down with anything.

Hi, Dove! Having an ideal gives something to shoot for so a better chance of making the target!

Hope the seder was meaningful after all, Twins Mom, and you enjoyed it.

A happy Easter morning to anyone who may be arising early to go to sunrise services.

I got up at 7:30 my regular time decided to relax a bit journal listened to some music and do my qt; then headed out for part of my walk before going to dd's to help/watch them color & hunt eggs as dstep gson will be heading home on the bus at 6:30 tomorrow. Then I had granny duty there mopped for some more exercise. Had h. drop me off at the spot I walk home from when we came home near dinner time. Glad I did that as now I can get the meds. I"ll need next week yea!

My dsis said she won't be able to go to Calif. like she's planned in June to see her grands and sounded down in the dumps.

{School bus comes here at 7:15 for the high school on our block.}

Learned the church we are going to visit tomorrow maybe changing not sure what's up with that but the one we've been going to seems to have outgrown their current building after only a couple years. Hoping for good things for this. I need to go figure out what I'm wearing it's way colder so I'm thinking the outfit I'd planned is not going to work. I still want to see that building now matter who's worshiping inside!
