Indiana - CONGRATULATIONS!!!

House Fairy - The door is always open - stop by for a visit anytime. :)

(((Dee)))) Bless your heart. It is discouraging to clean and organized without it being acknowledge and appreciated, but it is way more discouraging to have someone immediately and purposefully mess up the areas that have just been cleaned and organized. A matter for continual & intense prayer for sure!!

Pressure cooker is going with about 10 minutes left (pinto beans). I keep a good stock of Bushes Pinto beans (canned) on hand for times I can't keep homemade ready, but we REALLY prefer to have homemade beans. Yeats ago I learned if I eat a cup of beans a day that my cholesterol stays low enough to keep the doctor from giving me "that look" and wanting to prescribe meds.

I start with this low carb Meatloaf/Meatballs recipe and put my own twist on it depending on what I have on hand. This time I am using 2 packages of ground beef and a 2 lb package of ground venison. The venison tends to be dry (low fat) so that I have to watch the moisture/filler to right ratio of wet/dry ingredients.

Good morning everyone! I got nothing done last night. Instead I went to a friend's place and played games until 9:00. Then I came home and did the cat care stuff and that was it. Tonight is Girls' Night Out, so nothing will get done on the house tonight either. Except there are two places I absolutely must clean up and I will do those. I woke up late this morning and am still tired. DD10 joined 4H last night so I will have some Saturday activities to go to with her. She called me last night to tell me she tried a new food - milkshake at Wendy's. She loved it. I have a long list at payroll. Guess I should get on it.

Update......... Laundry is in progress, TDD list is made, coffee is being consumed, dcat has been snuggled. That is a longer list than I usually have at this hour. The sun is shining, the temp should get to the upper 60's today. Perfect!

Nancy, I enjoy reading about your "granny duty". Your dgc will have such good memories of spending time with their granny.

House Fairy, you are welcome to do anything you would like at my house! Thanks in advance!!!

Indiana, good luck with the oxygen company. I can't believe this is even an issue. Some of the "health" companies can be so arrogant! Re your dream: here's hoping it comes true very, very soon! Congrats on the weight loss, WTG!!

Dee, Zoe's Memorial Garden sounds beautiful! Can't wait to see pictures. May the time pass quickly until you can return to your "own" home.

Harriet, good luck to dd13 with her math test. Boy, math is sure different than it was back in my day......back in the dark ages.....

OKay, You seem well-prepared for tomorrow! I'm sure everyone will be able to carry the ball for you as long as you need them to. I remember my dmother having multiple eyedrops after her surgery, but none before. Of course, that was nearly ten years ago, so I'm sure procedures have changed & improved.

Elizabeth, good luck with your payroll list.

Off to fold laundry. BBL with an update!

I am not having a fun day so far. It started last night when the winds came up and the barometer dropped significantly. I do not do well during these flucuations. WAH! I want to be in AZ again. I ended up going to bed at 7:30 and was very restless - hurting like crazy and on top of that my allergies went wild and my nose stopped up until I could barely breathe. DH tells me this morning that the pollen count here is 11 out of 12! Well I guess that explains it! I think I may live though!

OKAY - you are my heroine! I don't know how you do all that you do. You make me tired reading it all. You are such a great grandma to LO. He is sooooo lucky. Get home safe from your surgery.

Time to get DH's breakfast before he starts saying "I'll just go to the restaurant".

A quick hello here. It is a little hectic around the house/office today. DH makes me so nervous when he's on the telephone non-stop as he paces from room to room. There is always lots to worry about, with the business and all the personal things going on. And he gets such hair-brained ideas now. For instance, today he was researching if we could plant a cocoa tree in the backyard. And how to fix his cell-phone by changing companies to one that will accept this chinese phone he bought.

He's out looking at a job now. I have torn the office upside down hunting a paper I'm sure I've seen. ....sigh..... Retirement will be ok if he is not working. But this working some times and home the rest does not work for me. Sometimes I feel as though I don't get a minute's peace.

Just knowing that the House Fairy might come has put a bee in my bonnet. I have cleaned off the table in the den using those pink plastic totes you get in the hospital. I have 4 labeled 1)medical, 2)financial, 3)computer software and 4)Misc keep stuff. I also have a pile for insurance and house papers as I ran out of totes.

Next I did dishes so I could have a clean sink to wash out brushes and then I finished my painting. It isn't quite what I want it to look like as the smaller petroglyph-type pictures are too much the color of the back ground. I will post a picture in the Creative Home thread.

Fishing and picnic adventures was AWESOME, however we have several aspects to improve. LO is just learning how to fish/act around water so we went with low expectations and everything that went right was a bonus. :)

Improvements needed -
** Put DH cell phone on silence. It was ringing seemily non-stop and there is just something WRONG about talking on the cell phone when your having some relaxing moments at the edge of a lake....ya know? That's the reason they make voice mail isn't it? ;)
** take LO life jacket. (we bought a new one for him a couple weeks ago but I forgot to take it) I wasn't comfortable getting on fishing pier (without rails around the edge of it) unless he is wearing a life jacket. Once he can swim then I will be okay with it.
** Take Lawn chairs! **BONK** How could I forget those? We put the tail gate of the pickup down and used it to sit on however I was sure wishing we had some comfortable chairs to relax in.
*** Sun screen! Enough said.
** crocks and swim trunks for LO. Boots and jeans are not suitable attire for getting in the water. Lots of "accidents" seem to happen today that resulted in LO being wet up to his knees. ;)

Next up - make a worm farm for the left -over worms

Dh just left for his overnight managers meeting.

It is official girls, I have done lost it. This morning I went to the grocery store. I picked up a RX, did my banking, mailed a card and picked up a few groceries. All in the same store. When I came home and drove in the garage, I reached for my housekeys. Although the garage is attached, there is no entry to the house. You have to go thru the side door onto the large covered entryway to the front door. There were no keys. I immediately knew that I had not picked them up after the checker swiped my loyalty card. Talk about panicked. It was a good thing that there were no police between my house and the store because I was running above the speed limit. This was a new checker and for some reason I was distracted. I always double check that I have those keys. Our 2 main vehicles have the key fobs with only the key to that vehicle. The key ring that has my loyalty card also has my library card, house keys to both houses, the garage at the other house, dd1 house key and the keys to old faithful. I don't know how many times over the years that I have found someone elses keys sitting there after they have left and I turned them over to the checker. I know that there are people who won't do that and that would be a nightmare for anyone. I was so so so thankful to see them next to her register.

I made several discoveries today.

If you drop a china teapot on the floor it breaks. We don't have padding under our carpeting it is glued directly onto the cement. It is a teapot I had on a table in the living room. It has 4 cups that go with it. It is to serve tea with a Chinese dinner.

I had 2 hits and one miss on new recipes. The potato salad and the asparagus and shrimp salad were both good. The pickled carrots were yucky. I will stick with my recipe for pickled carrots.

We just came in from outside and it is so cold with the wind that it cuts right through me. Even though it is 44 the windchill makes it 38 put it feels like -10 with the wind.

I dressed warm and had a blanket over my legs. I'm going to have some hot tea and for dinner later a grilled ham and cheese and tomato soup to warm me up.
