I'm looking for motivation and not likely to find it on the internet!

Bills to pay and quicken to update, the kitchen to clean, the bathrooms to clean, laundry to organize and a general houseblessing... there is not shortage of things to do. Plus the first of the playoff hockey games to at least keep an ear on.

I need to leave payroll, get kitty litter, get dinner (probably cereal), then go to a 7:00 church meeting. Last night I did do exercise. See you tomorrow!

I was in the "up and at em' group" this morning. I was up at 4:30, must-do AM cards completed and out the door by 6am so we could do must-do MPB AM chores before heading to town. Made it on time to 7:15am doctor appt for post-op checkup. Vision is 20/20 and everything is looking great. I did ask why NO fishing and the doc told about a bad experience one of her patients had after having cataract surgery. She said fishing was a "dirty sport" because baiting hook, touching the water, fish, etc then the hands are full of bacteria and being outdoors makes it high risk for the bacteria infected hands to touch the eye area. However she did tell me I could go fishing after 2 weeks (instead of the 6 weeks the paper said), but she just said to be extra cautious and aware.

Yesterday I sat around all day. BORING! By the end of the day, my back and back-side hurt from the lack of movement. So I decided to put creative practices into action today and it has went much better. Most activities that require bending over can be done by kneeling, squatting or sitting on the floor. There is usually another step adding to the process but it is minimal. Examples =
** Unloading dishwasher = Kneel or sit on floor and put clean dishes on the counter top, then stand up and put the dishes away.
** retrieving parchment paper underneath the cabinet = open cabinet doors then squatting and leaning forward to retrieve it.
** helping LO get dress - Kneeling on floor instead of bending over
** move LOL to dryer - semi-squat until arm can grab wet clothes in washer, drop them onto open dryer door, then kneel on floor while pushing them into the dryer.
Where there is a will....there is a way!

Way to go OKay. You are being creative. Some of those things I do to except from my chair. I also have a short and long reach grabber that I use. I also use kitchen tongs in a pinch.

Yucky phone call dealt with. The minister called at dinner and agreed to call back but let me know it was a ministry and personnel matter. I got the kitchen tidied, the laundry dealt with and bathrooms cleaned while waiting for her to get back from the kids' lessons so she could make the call. The leaders of the youth group would like to give it up and want the minister to take it over. When the minister asked what part of her job she should give up in order to free up the time to handle the youth group, the leader suggested finding one person per month to take a service. Talk about a double whammy - first suggest the minister isn't working hard enough and should take on more work and then suggest that her preaching is the bit she could easily give up without anyone missing it.

It is now 9. Our team is losing the hockey game so it is easy to ignore it.

I had to search for the dirty sheets. On Monday, I stripped and remade the bed, putting the dirty sheets in the laundry basket. Normally I put that basket into the spare room and wait for a forecasted day when they can line dry and run the load overnight so the sheets are ready to hang out in the morning. But my sister was in the spare room so I left them in our room. Apparently, dh came across them at some point and obviously thought they were done laundry, so folded and put them away. When I was looking for the dirty sheets, it didn't occur to me to look in the linen closet!

Tomorrow should be a great day for doing laundry so I hope to get both our sheets and the spare sheets out on the line.

(OKay) please be careful. Some of those things still sound like you'd be straining, even the modified way you're doing them.

(Harriet) I'm sorry you had to go through all that and by yourself, then driving in all that traffic. Wow. Now let's hope all tests come out AOK.

Sadie, I wanted to tell you I'd heard of that thermo.whatever testing and heard great things about what it can do. There was a woman on tv I used to watch and I believe she was some sort of woman's doctor and that was what she chose.

Kathryn, that is funny about your sheets. I once folded a load of clothes from a basket only to discover later they were all dirty. I must not have had a bright light on at the time.

Lunches made for tomorrow.
Kitchen cleaned up, dishes put away. Missing cereal bowls have been located - in the dishwasher which held a half load of washed dishes. I must have not emptied it completely when DFamily was here. And I don't use the dwasher much, so didn't notice it until I went searching for those bowls!

Back to my sewing. My fingers are getting stiff.

I'm glad to hear from everyone, and I am * amazed * and glad to hear that Harriet's experience went as well as it did.
Ooohhh.... sounds scary.
Sooo glad OKay is doing well...
And wanted to say that I am very impressed w/the memorial garden for Baby Zoe.

More that I would like to say... but I am sooo tired I can't believe it, and tomorrow is going to be the day from You Know Where, I'm afraid.
 I am in a bad mood and all I have done is grumble for two days. I also have PMS, and it would be better for all concerned, online and IRL, if I would just go to bed and y'all -- and dh -- would not have to listen to me.

See you tomorrow. Maybe. If I do not just come home and bury my head under the quilt when I finally get home.
Hope y'all have a great Friday!!! :D
Tomorrow is another day.

That's a good explanation of "no fishing" reasoning, OKay. I get that. I remember that my ddad really messed up an eye one time shortly after some minor eye surgery - he cut grass and something got into the eye. When you think about it, it would be important not to be too "outdoorsy" after eye procedures, for sure. There are enough particles and bacteria inside! I hope you have a continued ordinary recovery.

Kally, I thought of your driving/directions/locating comments today several times. Murphey's Law was in force and I was talking to myself by the time I arrived at the fancy tall medical building and figured out parking.

OKay you may remember Indiana and I chatting about a "reacher" here before. (What's the real name? dd13's says "robot arm") They are great. Longish handle, grasping claw at the end that will pick things up or reach back behind/below something with less effort. Maybe one of those would be good for you for a little while. Also, the help of an energetic child can't be minimized.

Harmony, I thought of you when searching for a thimble. Are you getting good use out of a thimble now?

I machine sewed a cute quilt label with borders that have squares at each corner, so just 8 seams of sewing, but it seemed to calm and center me. I needed that. I've been at the end of my focus since I've been home. Have done the "by rote" things like the dishes, but just can't coherently plan. Tomorrow is another day says lucylee and Scarlet, and indeed it is. My tomorrow will be a doozy.

re mammogram - best for less fibrous breasts.
ultrasound - can see detail in denser breasts.
Both can "see" things the other doesn't depending on the above.

I spent 2 nights at dd's which was great. Also caught up with other daughter and bub.
Just begin.
Living this day, today
Take a reality check; Remember to breathe; Do what I am able to do.
Look for the good in all.
