MARVELOUS MONDAY

Yesterday was "Significant Sunday" and we did end up making it quite significant (at least for us). Went to Disney as planned after church. But in the process of getting ready we were thinking about it being dgdZoe's first birthday had she lived. We wanted to celebrate that. So! We copied a picture of her and took that with us, found a pink-stoned dragonfly barrette & took off the extension of that. When we got to Disney dd asked for the "Celebrating" pins which we wore all day to clebrate her life! We decided since we were 'taking' Zoe to Disney with us we'd go to Magic Kingdom. When we were on the "Small World" ride, dd dropped the dragonfly (as our remembrance) into the water (right by the penguins -dd's favorite. So we'll be able to tell DS-A & DDIL exactly where it went. It was a really special day for us. DS-A & DDIL were also very pleased about it all. DDIL mentioned how much she loved dragonflies, but had never heard the "dragonfly story" so will find that later today and email it to her. So appropriate!!

Later saw a post on facebook from DDIL showing the completed garden -well it's still waiting for the benches. Made the whole day really special.

GD wasn't too happy about us 'celebrating Zoe' but that's a problem that's all hers -except she tries to make it her dMom's. She is so terribly envious of any attention diverted from her it's not the least bit funny. She's been trying hard to hatch a plan so dd won't go to NY with me and have the shower for DS-A & DDIL. DD is very excited to be seeing everyone up there (while trying to hide this fact). Funny: DGS7 found out Aunt J was coming Mother's Day weekend -reaction: only to find out she was returning to FL on Tuesday: He absolutely loves having her around.

Ooops -almost time to take gd to school DD usually does, but had to be in her classroom early today for FCAT's this week. Because of gd's status in school she doesn't have to take them. BBL

Oh Dee you had a beautiful day celebrating Zoe's birthday.

Just think Twins only today and tomorrow for the big push.

On the trash - yes it isn't right but that is the way it is to be for now. It will give me some time to gather information before going at it again. I can say I take X bags a week to the bins.

Oh I need to do a trash run. I did one bag when I took Jake earlier but since they didn't give me notice I have 4 days of trash.

Dee - what a special way to celebrate Zoe life!

I'm still in recovery mode. I am making myself NOT follow my schedule because it is fairly fast paced and demanding. Instead I am checking off each of the 9 drops a day and looking forward to this first week of restrictions ending....just 2 more days!

If Jake would have been able to set his ears like the cornette that the "Flying Nun" wore he would have been flying this morning. His ears were standing straight out from the wind and the fur on his muzzle was pushed back. It really turned cold and windy.

I'm just getting to the kitchen now. I did my full workout and s2s. Have had my tea and chocolate, done devotions (and emptied the dishwasher while the tea was steeping.)

I recorded my friend's service yesterday but the recording stops in the middle of the first hymn. I think the problem must be at their end because I had 60 minutes of recording on my end. God did grant me one answer. In the announcements, my friend mentioned receiving a letter from the Easter Bunny and chocolates. So I know he received and liked them (he read part of the letter to the congregation.) My second question, did he talk about eggs as a Christian symbol of Easter in the children's time, goes unanswered (he had a letter of complaint last week that there were Easter eggs in the sanctuary - someone felt it wasn't proper.) He was upset enough about the letter to mention it to me so I gave him the advice to deal with it using yesterday's Gospel reading to the kids since it talked about new life.

I love God's timing on all this - I got the strong feeling that my friend needed to receive a treat and be reminded that he was loved. So I mailed out the chocolates on Tuesday. Wednesday I find out from him that he is having a difficult week and I know the chocolates are on their way to him. But since I sent them anonymously and the cheapest way possible, I wasn't sure he'd get them at all or at least by Thursday (the last day he's in the office before Sunday.) But God let me know the answer by allowing enough of the service to get recorded (while I was busy doing something else for one of my church members.)

Dh is off for the day - urologist, cardiologist and then a business meeting. He's getting a 2 week heart monitor so he can record what is going on when he gets his weird spells (which apparently are happening way more than I knew.)

MT I have been thinking about you and Mr. MT all morning. You have been in my prayers too. It is amazing what surgery is like now compared to years ago.

I don't remember does Mr. MT stay in the hospital overnight or can he go home today?

Mr. Emptynester, you are on our minds! May there be lots of "ordinary", "as expected" and "run-of-the-mill" comments about your procedure!

Happy April 16th Twins' Mom! Tomorrow we'll say happy 17th, I suppose! Guess this has been a slower end-of-season, or at least one that slowed down gradually!

Kathryn, that's an interesting take on the timing of your encouragement gift. Obviously, it was a bright thing to send and appreciated. I am also believing that timing was good for the encouragement package I sent to my cousin (DVD collection of comedy). Knowing I had just sent it off, with interior note, "Seriously boring envelope, surprisingly funny Get Well card", I received a rapid-fire series of emails that let me know he was having a hard time while it traveled, so I think it would have arrived as things calmed down enough to offer a chance for laughter.

dd13 insists she is doing a jeans washing when she gets home, so I may just wait. It is stormy tomorrow, though, so shorts won't work like they did today, and she may not have anything to wear if those jeans don't have time to dry!!!

I have wrapping to do for WonderBoy's 4th birthday party when they come this weekend. We went with a toy tractor and farm trailer it pulls. I certainly hope that's still a can't-fail recipe for a little boy, and that he is not hoping too much for action heroes instead. I do have a Captain America-look frisbee for him, but I'm not sure that will fill the bill. Ds and ddil will be attending her sister's college graduation, so that automatically cuts our party down by at least one gift and one very important little boy-cousin!

I don't usually keep up with baseball, but was fascinated that LA turned into a real Tinker-to-Evers-to-Chance team yesterday with a triple play not seen in 130 years. It's hotly contested because the ump initially called a foul, so not very fair to the runners, but it's historic anyway. I was happy for those in the stands. Something happened.

I just found and watch a DVD of my DBro that some of his grandkids put together about his life. The week he died, I searched through my years of pictures and send all of the ones I had of DBro to DNeice/DNephew but somehow during all the hub-but of his passing, I never did watch the movie his older Grandkids made. They did an awesome job. Very bittersweet.

I find it interesting that it can take me double, triple and even 10x the amount of time to complete a card when I am not holding myself to a schedule. Parkinson Law is definitely true for me lately.......- "Work expands to fill the time available for its completion."

Good morning and Happy Monday folks! My weekend was mixed. Friday, DD10 wanted to have a slumber party with me. That meant pulling out the sofa bed, not a problem, but she wanted to stay up all night watching movies, problem. We finally got to sleep. Saturday I was planning to take her to a local amusement park, but the wind was so bad, she didn't want to go. Instead, we watched another movie, went shopping for a birthday present, went to lunch, then went to a birthday party. The birthday was indoors fortunately. The shopping was too sucessful, I spent over $100 on books. I have trouble saying no at a bookstore. After the party, one of the other guests invited several of us to her house for dinner and drinks. I could not wait until her dinner (usually at 9:00, by which time DD would be a crankmonster) so I picked up take out on the way. It turned into a sleepover for the kids. XDH brought over DD's things. Sunday, I made church then came back home for a nap. What I should have done was put away the sofa bed. When it was time for cat adoption clinic, the cat that had to go was inside the arm of the sofa! I did manage to get her out, which was good because she was 50% of the cats there! There was supposed to be one more, in fact, that one was the whole reason we did not cancel clinic. Of course, he didn't show and the foster never called to explain. If we had known, I could have been at a party instead. I was very disappointed. When I got home, I did some cleanup, weeding, cat taming. I forgot about the bathtub, which really needs to be finished. Today is errand day, but I forgot my list. My stove is stuck on celcius and I need to find the manual. It has fallen behind the stove and it is not on wheels.

I didn't mention that when the administrator found out I was in ICU her first response was where is Jake. She was going to take him home.

I was just talking to my daunt (dmom's sister) she reminded me that my dgaunt will be 104 this summer. She can still give herself insulin shots. She is in a nursing home.
