My new signature line came before ending up on the floor.

I have to say I was graceful. I just sat down on the floor. It wasn't hard it was just like I meant to sit down. When I knew I was going in that direction I just relaxed and it was all fine.

I'm looking forward to sauteed lake perch for dinner.

There are a few things I could do tonight before DD10 comes over, but I think I will nap. I am so tired today. I think tomorrow we will go to an amusement park, we have season tickets.

Sunny: I am going with a friend who is 78 and her friend of similar age. I am 47 so I will be the young one. I have paid for the cruise, so it is definitely happening. I have not yet reserved the shore excursions.

Twins: We are going to SD first for a family reunion - then MN for a rally the first part of July. Then to DD#1 (Plus DGD#1-5) then to DD#2 and hopefully a litter of new pups. Then back thru IN and IL to see DS & DGD#6 (they will also be at the reunion)

We will end up in Sedalia, MO for a rally in mid Sept and then back to AZ by the end of October. About 5,000 miles and $3,000 for gas.

It is about 97 here and very warm. I am making cold tuna macaroni salad for supper. Best go check on it.

Edited to say: It is hard to make tuna salad with no tuna. It will have to be a veggie/mac salad.

MT: my dh had the last two eggs for lunch today so I'll not be using them for my brown bag lunch tomorrow! I'm going to try and make do with just cheese and crackers for my protein and have a salad and fresh fruit to fill me up.

Yesterday my weight was down dramatically so I'm being careful today. I did eat every WW point coming to me today but since I was on the treadmill for an hour this morning, there were more than usual. I'm also making sure I have iron-rich food as often as possible as the heavy flow continues. I started my day with 'real' tea instead of decaf but made sure I had 4 glasses of water before having the tea (my decaf tea counts as water under WW so I didn't want to have real tea before making sure I was well on my way for drinking water today.

The last of the major accounts has been updated. This one had a mistake (mine) that took a while to correct but that is done too. Listened to the first of the CDs I bought today while working and it was good.

Kathryn, sounds like you are making good progress getting all your taxes done. Yours always sounds so complicated to me.

Sunny, I'm glad DDil is ok too. Did they do that operation as an outpatient? Yikes! Have fun tomorrow. Are there a lot of Scottish people around your area?

I made a trip out, got some groceries, forgot something important I needed though, got a b'day card and gift card and got that in the mail.

My house is hot, the temp outside has risen, and we've had to turn on the a/c because it hasn't been cool enough in the morning to cool it down. The heat makes me tired.

DH took car up to a/c place and they replaced a switch. However, we're not sure that's the right switch, he says it doesn't look/feel right. It quit working as I was out running errands and I thought I'd faint from the heat. I finally shut it off and opened the windows for some air. It was over 94° today. He called about another switch and they said $50.00. Grrrrrr, this car is old and there's always something wrong.

Indiana, I'm wondering if there isn't a switch on your chair that shuts it off if someone isn't sitting in the seat (the way our lawn tractor is)? I'm glad you weren't hurt badly.

I'm not sure our taxes are all that complicated but we have a slightly active stock portfolio so I have to be ready with the capital gains or loss numbers and I have a large number of other investments (dividends, bonds, bank accounts) that all generate tax chits. Then there are the charitable contributions which are made over 2 dozen agencies so we have to account for all of those. Nothing complicated enough to require an accountant but tricky enough that I have to psych myself up to do this every year.

I do it over several days, starting with bite size pieces.

Then I do it all again with the business books in May (because the business is incorporated, those accounts are separate from the household income.)

Your business is far more active than ours so you have a lot more to keep track of than I do. And you sound way more on top of things. I tend to batch things quarterly or even annually.

Harmony, yes there is an off button. Since I know everything and knew nothing sould happen I didn't turn it off and my coat caught.

Since I no longer know everything I will turn it off before getting up.

I am so mean to my dniece. When I got back from ER I sent her a message saying home from ER - 5 stitches. Of course she responds.

Tonight's message was my chair ran me over.

I don't need to call her or email her son something like that so I just send her a message through facebook.

This is the dniece MT knows. So she knows I'm being mean.

Don't know if I mentioned it earlier or not, also, but OKay -- you ARE a wonderful grandmother! WTG on doing the party for the grandsons. They'll love it!

I guess I have congaed (sp???) through the mall today. Not COMPLETELY satisfied w/my party outfit, but it will do. Got sandals for the party, but still need new dressy shoes for church.

Tried on FOUR dresses -- not for party, just for church, b/c I can't remember the last time I had a new dress for church.
* sigh * Shopping makes me remember why I hate to shop. The first two dresses were just LAUGHABLE. Everything makes me feel sooo fat. Maybe I am fat. But I look around, and lots of women I know are bigger than I am. I know that is not a really good way to judge myself, but you know... I'm just saying, I'm NOT obese or anything. I just have a little too much in the way of stomach, hips, thighs. The first two dresses looked GREAT on the hangers, but on me, it was like they had big neon signs pointing (and laughing) at my stomach, hips, thighs.
I did buy a new black skirt, different style than my old black skirt. That's my standby Sunday wardrobe. Sometimes I wear the brown skirt, sometimes the navy. Then I'm back to black. My wardrobe is sooo exciting.

Party outfit will be white dressy tank top w/some ruffle-y flowery detail at the neck, w/very loosely crocheted sweater top over it. Saleslady assured me that black and white was plenty dressy enough and appropriate for an engagement party.
She said, "You can't go wrong w/black and white."

Talked to dsisil this morning also, and she promised me that there would be NO GIFTS. She said, "You'll get invited to other showers or teas or something."
Oh the thrill of it all.

On the opposite side of this coin is my fear that no one WILL jump forward to organize a baby shower for ddil!!! She's having one in her hometown, but we need to have one here, too. My cousins have mentioned it... but you know... we're getting into crunch time now, aren't we? I don't think it is quite appropriate for the mother-in-law to instigate such a thing... and one dfriend told me she wanted to help if someone was giving one... but... hmmm... I'm just wondering what's going to happen. And I hate to even mention it to dsisil, b/c she did SOOO much taking care of the reception we had for ds & ddil when they got married. Of course, dcousins did, too.
This is the problem with being such an anti-social hermit. And raising one. I suspect ddil would like to be not quite so hermit like as ds & dh & I... but OTOH, she keeps to herself a lot, too.

That reminds me -- a ta-da for today: I invited ddil to go shopping with me! That was good social behavior, don't you think?
She turned me down -- said she really needed to sleep. Baby had awakened her VERY early this morning, and then ac man kept her from going back to sleep b/c she had to wait for him. (They needed repairs also.)

(((HUGS))) and "feel better soon" wishes for Sunny'sddil. Yikes is right! That sounds like too much operation for an outpatient. But I'm not surprised -- insurance companies don't really allow anyone to spend the night in a hospital if there is ANY way to avoid it, it seems.

* got pizza for our supper
* got take-out plate @ another restaurant for dmil & delivered it to her
* filled up SUV w/gas * whew * $93 for 24 gallons
* talked to dsgm on phone
* talked to ds on phone

Now I think I will return to my novel. Not as great as the first two I read during spring break, but good enough. I want to see how it turns out. It's a summer romance kind of novel, and I think they're about to break up b/c the girl/woman is being stupid.

I had a nice peaceful day at my pace here was great! Got my walk in the morning while it was still nice out; the laundry is done, cleaned up a bit w/out any one [H.] critiquing my work or trying to give "helpful" yet annoying pointers. I did some knitting but had to rip out most of that ~sigh~granny duty was only 45 min. just enough time for snacks and home work 3 pgs. of handwriting for dgson.

The men working sign is gone but equipment is still up the street so they are not done yet.

H. took a spill at work today and is stiff and sore this evening. We went to our fav. local taco stand for dinner and then w-mart for the store run saw dgkids and dd again there. They are coming over tomorrow so I showed them a preview of the snacks! Building the excitement.
Don't have to back found hostess like cupcakes in store brand yea for saving energy mine!

My fav. T.V. night was last night; tonight shows are later that I like one is a rerun.

lucylee, take dfriend up on the offer, give the shower together, BUT make your first act purchasing her some lovely return-address labels. You can then work as hard as she does on the shower, but since the invitations will come from her, you won't have to feel that you over-stepped any social boundaries as mother-in-law. (For what it's worth, I think it's fine for a mother-in-law to give a shower herself.)

Dd32's family arrived safely, all little ones sound asleep, so we will wait until tomorrow to really welcome them. Dstepson had kept me company today as I worked at the other house washing towels and puttering about little things. He did a little plumbing work there. He went around and replaced some lightbulbs.
