Going to bed..

Harriet....If Danger Boy needs speech, his IEP should state that. In Special Ed. speech should be separate from reading, not tied together. I have special ed kids that receive speech services only. If Danger Boy's IEP reads that he should be receiving speech services, the school is required to provided it for him by a speech teacher.. That is the law. IEP's (sorry I forget some of you don't know the language Individualized Educational Plan) are federally mandated, not driven by the state. They are legal documents that can be transferred from state to state. In other words if Danger Boy moved here to AZ, the school here is required to provided him with speech services because it is written on his IEP in NC.

It has been a good day. They commissioned 8 Stephen Ministers (caring lay ministry that I did back in our home town) at church this morning.

I made potato salad for dinner plus we had some watermelon. We also went to Ice Cream at the Clubhouse. We were down to 3 tables of 10 rather than the 10-15 tables we have in the winter.

DH is feeling much better. He is gaining strength every day. Tomorrow we leave early to go into the city for me to see the knee Dr. We will also go to Home Depot and Habitat Re-store. We need another detail sander for the dresser we are refinishing and some cabinets for the garage. It will be a long day as I have to be there by 10.

Niters all.
