Elizabeth - Our family has that problem too. Check out ideas on http://fedup.com.au/ as there may be something that helps - though you, DX and DD would need to be on the same page if you did want to try a trial. With my eldest artificials and oranges really effected her learning and ability. artificials (esp at b'day parties) sure did a number on her ability to be rational.
Talked to pdoc and we both agree, not best for me to be the "mature" extra in a dysfunctional setting atm. Much as it was nice to be asked. He suggested it would be better to step up my involvement in the support group instead. I'll see what happens there.
